I’m in the Uk and 2 weeks away from E day , I’m 60 years old and only 12 teeth left to pull. I’ve been watching your vlogs and find them a great help but obviously I’m still very apprehensive about having all this done. Hopefully I can come out the other side just have you have done. Keep the vlogs going.
Thanks. It’s a big step to take. I had bad nerves. Couldn’t keep it off my mind the week before. It’s not too bad. My mind made it worse than it really was.
You'll be fine, I got given diazepam, but I also during extractions used an eye mask so could not see a thing during extractions to help alleviate any worries. Also make sure you use a ice pack for at least 5 days to keep swelling down. Ended up using on back of neck due to neck pain from trammadol after 5 days. I felt no pain at all, only the injections sadly those were not comfortable as I think I had 3 per tooth, 17 in total. I had full clearance on top and just have 6 teeth left on bottom. So full denture on top and partials on bottom. I kept my immediates in for 1st 3 days after extraction as scared I'd be too sore to put them back in. I was only horrible tramadol for a total of 8 days and 5 days of horrible tramadol withdrawal. I'd lost 5kgs in 8 days. A wonder what ice-cream, jelly, blamanche and cake can do for your waist line. So I know what to do if I want to lose weight. Ps I really want to slap that implant guy I saw first who tried to sell me implants, saying I'll never manage toast again, what a lie. Glad a prayer helped me find a better dentist and denture lab in one practice. Wishing you all the best, no need to worry, you'll be fine.
Congratulations on your 2-year anniversary! Thank you for doing the videos. Its great info. Had my all teeth pulled 1 month ago and opted to wait till gums heal before dentures. Got 2 more months till l get fitted for my dentures. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers from Australia
Thank you for all your videos. I got immediate bottom denture and partial on top November 3rd 2022. I started with your first video. I have learned so much from you. Thank you again!!
Thank you so much for making these videos. I just finished week one of 26 extractions. This included an immediate denture for uppers and leaving six natural on bottom awaiting a bridge sometime around month 3. It has been a struggle both physically and mentally. Your words and honest reactions helped me to get through the last 7 days. Congratulations on the two year mark.
Day 3 after extractions, and I'm trying to stay positive. Woke up at 3a.m. and had to take out immediate dentures dues to pain and actually slept for 4 hrs. But so sore couldn't put in...guess I'll try a bit later lol. I had real bad teeth and decided I hated the constant pain so I jumped in full force. Can't wait till it gets easier. Been watching all your videos for inspiration...thank you!
I have had my dentures for almost 3 months. I got permanents, no immediates, 4 months after my extractions because my insurance did not cover them. I like my dentures, even use the densure fit and they fit just fine, I can pretty much eat without too much issue, took about 2-3 weeks to talk correctly but its pretty good now. I still get some irritation spots here and there but I use "Hurricain" numbing gel and it also works great, its just that after 8 to 9 hours into the day my mouth is just sore all over like my mouth went thru a full workout at a gym and I can't wait to get home after work and take them out. Does this ever go away. Its my only worry. Thank you Justin for your kindness and experience. You Help a Great Deal!!
The irritation will get better. Sometimes I just slightly file down the spot rubbing that spot. Very slight adjustment will make a big difference. But yes it gets better. It’ll be where they are just normal and you don’t realize you have them at times
Congratulations 👏 on your two year anniversary of dentures. Thank you so much for all your helping videos. Please be sure to let us know how your test with Secure comes out. Thanks again
Congrats Justin on your 2 years. Been a pleasure to follow your journey. .? For you. Do you still notice the top pallet and shiny back of bottoms Dentures. My journey update. 50 days since extraction or 1 month 20 days, (22.11.2022 extraction day). Yesterday I made some alterations to my dentures since I have my first soft reline next thursday 19.01.2023. I had previously used cushion grip. So I next stripped it all down, used smile disk, to just create a Ridge on top Dentures. Followed up with cushion grip for cushioning. I did this to basically get more bang for my money of cushion grip, as I only need a little over the smile disk. So yesterday, I was still concerned with amount of fixodent being used. So I covered just the bottoms pallet and gum base with a small amount of cushion grip over previous application. Result a nicer comfier snug fit. I also use less fixodent than before. How I apply, squeeze the tip down on pallete in centre 4 areas and around the gum base in 1 cm intervals. I just squeeze a small bit, lift up to create a little peak. Then dust off with werner powder. And they fit beautifully. My speech has suddenly got better as a result. I. Sound like my normal self now. I also used by dremel and small tool to remove a little acrylic around the 4 molars on each side of top denture, as on the inside there was only 1 mm showing. I think I now have 3mm showing. These are still my immediates. My denture maker, did say to me, if the relines work, then no need for permanents. She says I won't waste your money unnecessarily which is good to know. I would like a spare set though. I believe I can chew better now as enjoyed a good British breakfast yesterday. To top it up for the first time yesterday, I had toast since extractions and no issues, such a big bite I took as well. Second amazing thing, I enjoyed a few candy coated Chocolate coated Peanut M&M's. No issues. The only thing is small bits of nuts get pushed to edges of Dentures so need to swill out. But feeling good now, as I seem to be back to normal in terms of diet. Thanks again Justin, for your support and advice, as it is a scary journey when you do not know what to expect. The main thing to note is a perfect denture does help bringing back normality. So my advice to others is tinker around with Cushion grip. I have got a top and bottom Reliner kit from USA to UK via relative. Aim to use this after my reline on the 19.01.2023 and if my Dentures become loose. However, heard some bad things about the chemical reactions burns and cancer causing stuff used in densurefit, too late now, my relative has taken delivery. I may try it, but at say 4 to 6 months time, if I need to. Bye for now. 🙂
Day 6 for me and i can finally wear my upper dentures without any pain from the extarctions as the swelling has gone down mostly now. I had partial dentures for 15 years and now i have a complete set top and bottom. Nervous to eat still im still learning how to bite down on anything. Thank you for your videos. Fills me with courage and takes away any embarrasment i have about my teeth at a young age (2 years younger than you lol) (still young, right?) All the best from a small island called the Isle of Wight in UK :)
I am exactly one month after having 27 teeth pulled, bone grafting procedure done, stitches, and letting my gums heal for the month. Got my temporary dentures yesterday. Excited about the smile. Not excited about not being able to drink, eat, talk, etc. lol. But I can smile. Took a swig of a bottled water after i got them in and about drowned myself, started choking. I feel the upper palate is way to big. Maybe this is normal. Still taking them out to eat for now.
Thanks Justin!! Congrats....I'm at the 8 month mark. I can wear top denture haven't worn bottoms since my teeth pulled. Tooooooo crowded and feel horse like. I also have had a lisp since getting dentures. I'm encouraged by you. I need to find some one who can give me both dentures to wear. I gag too every now and then. I try to take your advice not get discouraged or go negative. I really felt the aspen dental I went to over promised and UNDER delivered. I soooo miss eating walnuts, and salad. Gonna keep watching please keep making these videos even if it's only to be a voice of calm and encouragement. So appreciate you! Congrats on 2 years you def had a positive experience and teeth look great😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
Congrats. Day 2. Immediate dentures. Not too bad. Top fit well...bottom to be adjusted. I meditate and it helps greatly. Eating is scary 😢 but I'll be fine.
New to your channel I'll be going to get dentures in February for a Fitting I have no upper teeth so hopefully the procedure will go quickly and I can get my denture Since I have no healing to take place
I am 29 and had a referral sent to my surgeon and am just waiting for a call back to make an appointment to get a full extraction. I am getting put under for this which I am pretty happy about because I have pretty high anxiety but I suffer in silence so I often end up making things worse than it has to be for myself because i lack the ability to just say how im feeling as to not be an inconvenience to anyone or feel like im complaining at the risk of starting a confrontation. Anyways I will give an update in the form of an edit on when my appointment is and my experience with this. I never took great care of my teeth let alone my overall health and it has got to be my worst regret in life so far. I am sure I'll make it through this I have had worse surgeries but I am glad to get the process started and to begin a new journey on a road to better health!
I'm getting dentures on just the top bottom teeth are fine I have a partial up top now they will pull 9 teeth Wednesday and put my dentures in after I'm trying to stay positive I'm worry about afterwards but hopefully since I'm only getting 9 pulled it won't be as bad as getting all of them pulled I'm getting mine at affordable dentures I will get my impression done at 8am and at 1 start the procedure the burden you carry trying to keep your teeth hidden is slowly lifting and can't wait to get ot over with your viedos have helped me a lot and like you said keep it positive and with time it will get better I did go with the economy dentures so I guess what I get that day is what I get not sure on how all that works
