When Manny became Lennox' trainer, a whole new Lennox emerged. He became a much better tactician, and his punches were harder and thrown like a real pro. Manny did the same for the Klitschkos. One of the true great trainers.

Lennox Lewis was quite simply one of the greatest Heavyweight Champions of all time. A Class Act.

It's hard to believe Lewis was already 26 in '91. Of course, this is the decade of so many mythical match-ups that never came to be, and of the rise of the dreaded fourth belt - the WBO.

Tyson took Biggs heart and soul, he was a shell of his former self (which was rather unspectacular to begin with) at this point.

Lennox was a force

Biggs actually beat Lewis s in the Olympics and went on to win gold. Lewis stayed in the amateurs another 4 years and won his gold over Bowe in the 88 Olympics

To my humble opinion, Lennox Lewis is the best ever heavyweight boxer. The most complete.

Not to take anything away from Lewis. He did a good job overwhelming Biggs. I think most comments start with Biggs is not because he is an American and Lewis is a Brit. This guy Biggs had a lot of potential, that for some reason was not actualized. When I watched him fight Tyson, I thought it was too early for him to go for Tyson. He needed more before taking on a guy like Tyson. It was a mistake too risky. I think most people wish that Biggs stayed in the game again because of the perceived potential. I have read one comment that Biggs was drinking too much another said he was damaged by Tyson. Whatever the explanation may be his career did not pick up as most of us hoped. I wish him well, I liked the guy.

Biggs actually had a good jab and good footwork but how come he gassed out and breathing heavily after only 2 rounds? You could see in third round he's already breathing with his mouth

I am not a Lewis fan, yet this shows the better boxer in him . The first knockdown was a clean hook, perfect.

Lewis was the perfect example of what I call a hybrid : a cross between a boxer and a puncher. They can knock opponents out with one solid punch but they can also box technically and land a lot of punches in critical areas. And because they hit so hard, all those hits really tear down their opponents. Larry Merchant called it search & destroy. The greatest thing about hybrids is that they can outbox punchers and outpunch boxers. That's why a peak 6"5 Lennox Lewis could have beaten anybody, Riddick Bowe included.

I don’t even know why they bother to mention the pros amateur and especially Olympic records, because they’ve almost always become a completely different fighter by then! And Biggs is a perfect example of this fact!

Wow I did not realize Biggs was slightly taller than Lewis. Lewis always seemed like a mythical size on screen.

Lennox Lewis at this stage of his career already looks very well-rounded, lethal and savvy: He has a great jab and utilizes very strong looping/straight counter-punches, very effectively and deftly. He has a good arsenal of very powerful -though quasi-telegraphed- punches in close range, especially that overhead right smash and the uppercut. I however, don't like the fact that he's often not active enough in letting his fists fly and I hate the fact -whether he can get away with it or not- that he feels the need or desire to tie his opponents up so often, which I feel is a form of 'cheating' that even the great Muhammad Ali utilized far too often, also, and got away with it. If I was fighting Lewis, and I won the fight -- I wouldn't offer him a rematch simply because of how often Lewis ties his opponent up like Ali did. That would be incredibly annoying to me as a fighter. I would never tie an opponent up, if I could help it, except in rare circumstances -as tying someone up shows a flaw in my confidence and/or fighting abilities...

It's all about technique & champion mentality. It has nothing to do with muscles. You can be a champion and a 18 year boy can KO you out there. Lewis was fast & got precision.

Tyrell added punching while keeping range smoothly. Punching quick mid-range, then using a shoulder to block with a semi-Philly shell Able to punch to the body fast from a counter left to right quick Able to come in with a quick combo, back up, get punches landed on, then return smoothly. I can name more, but I don't have to. Ali clinched a lot,bounced too much, which Joe/karl/Cooper began to be able to read and countered him easily,had hands down low often,used head movement but not the way modern used it, which was head blocking with hands., Its very obvious len would destroy ali

Man, Lampley and Merchant used to hate big time on Lewis. Lennox 17-0 record was call ludicrous and weak because of his resume, 1. He was still considered a prospect. 2 Up to that point Lewis defeated decent names on his resume such as Gary Mason who was undefeated 35-0 and former world champs Mike Weaver and Glenn McCroy. Not saying world beaters but a good test for an upcomer 3. Bowe's resume at 18-0 was way worse and had zero name recognitions and worse was they never trashed Bowe once he was champion for his defenses against Dokes and Fergueson
