Nice, very nice. Looks utterly excellent Larry, coming along with beautiful results. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the rigging and the rope work used on these things are really attractive and beautiful but I could never get them mastered on any ship I would ever make. That's some sweet work on the cannon set up on the deck, and the lifeboat set up is attractive also, what I love most about this ship is the livery.. reminds me of the KMS Tirpitz which I made, the mix of colours on the hull and superstructure is so similar to the hull paint up of the USS Constitution. There's a gent up the street and he's working on the sail ship Vasa, he's also done the Mayflower.. a big lover of the full rigged sailing ships. In regards to the Titanic you have in mind, if your eager to make yours an rc model then you can always look at vids posted by the modelboatguy, he's just about finished his own 1/200 Titanic and that's an rc, so you might pick up some tips.. just a thought if your interested that's all. 👍
Yes I’ve watched the modelboatguy, as well as Midwest Model Shop. Both have parts I will be using, but mine is going to have a lot more of the China 3D stuff that either of their builds. I also have the KA set, Minibrass, and Wodoy’s PE. In addition I’d have the printed interior room walls, the real bronze props and anchors. While I definitely saw some very useful things on their builds mine will be different than both in many ways. It should be a fun build and I’ve wanted to do something like this since I was a little kid.
@@LCModelShipBuilding Yes I know the feeling, the old boyhood dreams. Your going to blow a lot of people out of the sea when you start your RMS Titanic, there's nothing that can deny that. Really looking forward to seeing you start this beauty. The old gent up the street.. Well technically he's only just turned 50.. is intending to do the upcoming HMHS Britannic when it comes out so the Olympic class liner bug never stops spreading, don't it?
@@joeaustin4472 I would love to do the trio, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Way too many other builds I’d like to do. It’s funny I used to build models as a kid and I got away from it for a long time. Did a lot of buildings for my HO train during those years, but I had stashed away a bunch of kits that in just this year getting back into. With the model rail I really learned a lot of new techniques that have carried over into the ships. For instance the mesh I used in this video I also use to make chain link fence on the railroad. That’s how I knew the mesh would get the look I wanted. It’s all a blast and fun though! I think the fact that I’ll be able to actually control titanic, make it light up, funnels smoke, have a sound card on it and the detail will be a blast to sail on my lake! Can’t wait!

I got a large stash myself and have had to put an embargo on my numbers, but that's alright.. got enough and enough places in the house to display them. Most of all the kits I've got are aircraft but I have a few ships to make, the 1/200 Gneisenau is the one I intend to do around Christmas, gives me enough time to complete the aircraft. I've already got RMS Titanic so I don't need any others, did the 1/400 scale 3 years ago, finished it off before Christmas as it was a gift from my birthday. Always loved to see a trio of Olympic class ships together, the closest I got to RMS Olympic was the 1/700 Revell.. my big sister loves her.. so well.. being a good younger brother I let her have it 5 years after I made it. My little niece loves the ships I make so I'm letting her have my 1/200 USS Arizona when she turns 18, she's 14 now and hasn't lost her liking for art.. magnificent artist so she is by the way.. so you know.. very close we all are. If I end up with one of the 1/200 Olympic liners.. might end up going with Olympic.. reason being is because though I find Britannic beautiful, I hate working with vast amounts of white paint. I know model maker Gary Brinker was planning to do the 1/200 RMS Titanic.. but he's got a private life to focus on I believe. I've been making these things since I was a kid myself,I mean yeah.. this day and age most people are focusing on gaming but, with model makers, they have something to show in regards of the money they spend 👍
Hi, your videos are very helpful, thank you. I have been building the same ship. I bought 2 of the models which were made in the 70's. I plan on selling the other one, which is complete. I love this ship, so far its the best looking ship I've done. I've just put the very front missen? mast in. I had the same problem that you did. That piece in the center needed some tooling. Anyhow, I'm still watching your videos until I'm finished.
That is great. Glad I can be of some help! Good luck in your sale of the other! There’s a market for built models but it is not an easy one. Never ever expect to get your “time” price back out of it unless it’s a pre determined communion builds, even then it usually equates to $2-3 an hour lol. Just possibly the other Revell USS Constitution 1:96 that I accidentally purchased. It's funny, I buy two of almost everything I buy online. From now on I am letting my girlfriend do the purchase of what things I buy...lol I can't wait to see the Titanic build!
Hello again, I forgot to tell you that I'm a quadriplegic with one functional hand and it's my left of course, I'm trying to send you a picture of my Revell USS Constitution 1:96 what it looks like. I also have a couple slide shows on RU-vid I would like you to see. It's my second wooden model ship, just search Bob Nickett or Robert Nickett. It's not perfect, it's the San Felipe. So how do I send you a picture of my USS Constitution? I'm actually doing good on it, considering I have only a left hand.
