Yep... it was an amazing bookend for Today... I only discovered the new versions, went to check update pricing, then I was like.."Hang On".... Checked my ilok assets... and...... 💥..... Mind blown... Assets there..... SSL Solid Super Legends.
Solid State is doing a great job by making products for home studio, at a reasonable price and at a professional sound. This is opening a wide world for all musicians and listen to their work before the sound engineer comes in. Stunning job, well done SSL 👌😍
Brilliant, and calibrate them to be interchangeable through Sigma, so that you can gradually build a 500-series EQ+Dynamics system, starting e.g. with drums. Because analog SSL EQ into compression still sounds superior - listen to Warren here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iwhLT54TgPc.html

My dream ssl daw controller would be the same as the aws but with one maybe two mic preamps only! 24 channel strips with 24 faders and a complete master section! Basically a 24 channel hardware match to SSL 360° with one mic preamp and an in- depth master section
I really, really hope you guys bring native support to FL Studio. It is one of the most popular DAWs out there, and has been for years. It bewilders me that hardware developers refuse to acknowledge it.
It is one of the most popular DAWs, and one of the least paid for. And when you cant afford the DAW, you sure as shit can't afford £1000+ worth of Hardware Controllers. All they are doing is recognising that on the whole, poor children use FL. Sad, but true.
💡 1. The new SSL Channel Strip 2 and the new SSL Bus Compressor 2 are very CPU efficient compare to the earlier version 6.5. Fantastic 👏 👍 2. The new sound on the both plugins has improved enormous and are really amazing 👏🏆 compare to earlier version 6.5. Especially if you activate 2x or 4x oversampling on Bus Compressor 2. 3.👍I can strongly recommend to buy at least demo the new plugins if you don't already own them. For $479.00 for the plugins or the new SSL UC-1 (included the Strip 2 and Bus 2 plugins) for $849.00 are still a steal for what you get and how good it sounds. Amazing! Thank you SSL for making great products that works perfectly. 🙏👍 (Windows Pro 10, Cubase Pro 11, Antelope Audio interface)
Nice and gorgeous. sadly stuck with the same comp and EQ for each channel, they should at least allow us to change comp type with their other comp plugin. Wonderful controller tho.
Wow, loks fantastic. The only thing I’m missing is the, let’s call it UM-1. A Master Unit with transport, jug/shuttle encoder, monitor controller, cut, copy, paste, undo, redo, Master Fader, Aux and Bus selector, Marker, punch in and out and so on. A Monitor controller Section my be with real physical ins and outs., 3 Sets of Speakers and 2 sets of headphone jacks. If there weren’t physical ins and outs it would also make sense to control the monitoring section in the daw. May be That would make the system perfect.
Great thinking, such a complete solution, this will put the cat firmly amongst the pigeons. A pretty cohesive set of productivity tools that are going to be hard to dismiss. Definitely a hard act to follow. SSL - great innovation. Well done. Phenomenal achievement
I agree! I think they left it blank because they will be creating other channel strips that have different ranges. It would be cool if we could get overlays.
Great Job SSL. Very nice controller Feature requests if possible (Ableton Live user) : 1- automatic focus the UC1 controller to the selected track without having to open the plugin on the software. That way, the UC1 would have better integration with UF8. Thank to that, no need to use the mouse at all, just to move and select the track we want work with on the UF8 controller and the UC1 alway display the current selected track. Would be a game changer. Congrat again for this wonderfull controller
This hardware controller & software mixer is a great idea. The next step would be to build a real analog version with 32 analog channel strips. It could be done by printing sound that goes thru an analog channel into its own SSD disk. When we switch to a channel, from that moment on it would start to record and monitor audio thru SSL analog hardware, and the crossover transition between channel audio recorded before that point and a new recording would be smooth. For that, we would need only one series 500 Channel strip (with moving automation knobs) and one Bus compressor. I think from the earnings point of view it would outperform selling big hardware consoles.
@@Whywhatwherehowwhen herd mentality is so weird more importantly dangerous. i read this when it had 4 likes and was like wtf. now look? strange times. maybe it's kids thinking they're a part of something.
Oh great Audio Sage ! We knew all along you will surprise us with something we have been beckoning for. Thank you Oh great master of the audio universe. Now it is clear what plugin designers see when they search the Universe for new ideas..SSL.
It would be so nice if SSL could release a “pro” or “deluxe” version of UC1. I love the workflow, layout, plug-in sound, but the built-quality of UC1 gives me migrenes. I must be careful not to sneeze or tap the desk, because the knobs might change values themselves. It happened. I would reaaaaally love a controller with the exact same sturdy feel as the console 💙
Why no numbers around the knobs on the uc1 so I’m forced to look a 2 screens while mixing , just put numbers around the knobs leave all the extra stuff out . How can I feel like I’m in front of the hardware if there is no numbers lol
Really impressed 👏 👍Awesome! Score 9 of 10. Feature requests: Allow any plugin-insert either be activated as Native plugin or DSP-plugin (zero latency USB3.1) that then be used on the DSP- processesing chip onboard on the hardware controller. Really powerful one allow you to load up 100+ plugin instances. That would be a dream🙏❤ and the sell will go thru the roof if that happens. 👍
First of I LOVE all ssl plugins I use them everyday. Sencondly this is by far the cleanest ssl plugin mixer I have seen and I tried a few of them but it never worked for me. But this is like a dream came true for me I watched the video multiple times. This would really be a great investment. The umc-1 Looks amazing and I can allready see my self doing 90% of my mix in the plugin mixer. That could been a daw on it's own. It is so Nicely and beautiful layed out. Everything I need to make a good recording GREAT is just in that one window. I just bought the faderport 16 a week ago and I can see how they could work together nicely. Amazing job SSl you nailed it where all others just couldn't
I have the UF8 and it's great but this is a missed oportunity to create a universal plugin controller. who is using only SSL plugins for mixing? It is enormous too for controling 2 SSL plugins.
Instead of the bus comp encoders, which will be rarely ever touched during a mix, they should have placed there many encoders for other plugins and synths or a fader with a jogwheel.
I use only SSL 4000 from Console 1. Sometimes a Linear Phase EQ from Logic in the Stereo Bus. Nothing else needed. Would love to switch to UC1 once it learns following track selection in Logic Pro.
@@immortalitytherapper23 man I've only used SSL consoles and I've only used SSL plugins. When they released Native V6 they were the only ones I used mostly
Follow if plugin is on Slot 1. Otherwise it allows you to not follow and control one plugin with UC1 and another in the mixer or via UF8. Brilliant. Both options.
Yes! I'm a long time Reason user but it's really annoying that there never was any proper controller for the onboard SSL mixer. This is such a neat product for us that are more hands on type of users. That said, I really like the look of this software and would consider buying it but it would be kinda funny to open an SSL plugin in a DAW that in some ways already has one.
360 plug-in has no numbers around the knobs, so if I wanna see where my mix is I have to Hoover my mouse over the knob to view the number. That defeat the purpose of analog style mixing , who approved this plugin? Y’all need to update that number problem asap
Strange that it has taken over 20 years...early offerings like the Korg MS-20 tanked, but I'm certain this will be quite successful. Then again, thankful there haven't been 8 generations of redundant versions from then 'til now.
@@ardonrumnong Because, while obviously people are comparing the two systems, I have Both, and they don't Compete with each other, they Compliment each other. They each do a similar thing, but not the Same thing. Think of it like having a Compressor plugin, do you trash it when you get another one? And, what people are sleeping on, is A) the SSL Plugins work without anything B) the Hardware doesn't talk to the Plugins, it talks to SSL 360 and the new, FREE Plugin Mixer, C) SSL 360 Plugin Mixer doesn't Need the hardware to work, you can download it Right now, and whatcha get is a Full screen SSL XL9000K, for Free. Load every track with the SSL Channel Strip 2. Load every track with Console 1. (And run the Softube SSL XL9000K emulations) Both, not either/or. (There's MUCH more than that, but hopefully you get the idea.) Later you can buy the $850 SSL UC1, I definitely will. And they will sit side-by-side.
not a FEW...2 ...becasue this is a channel strip and a bus compressor... count 1...count 2.... we dont want dome generic thing so some computer nerd can use any plugin..we want dedicated hardware ..this is it... Try UF8 for that.
Greetings, I just bought the ssl bundle. Having troubles accessing it in logic. It’s unlocked/ on my Mac and iLok bungle.. but when I open logic they are unavailable.. would really like to get started with your products.. trying to explore more than just UAD and Waves
@@BenKash308 they said we get a free upgrade if we have it, but still have to buy the controller at full price (which includes the new plug-ins, so i'd basically have to pay twice for them anyway) :(
@@BenKash308 yeah its kind of sad that it seems like we're in the minority here, most people seem to be frothing over it. It looks cool but cmon no customer loyalty?
@@hovercat26 well, considering the plugin bundle for the channel strip and bus compressor is $480!!!! They should deduct that from the UC1 but we know that will never happen lol but I digress. I actually got very lucky and bought essentials bundle for $50 on a 7 day valentine day sale from SSL and still got the new updates for free.
Are the knobs touch-sensitive like the Avid D-Control and D-Command rotary encoders (and I assume S1 through S6), or do you have to turn them for touch automation to engage like the older Focusrite Control 24?
! Quick question when clicking on the E button does it turn the whole channel strip into the 4000E version or part of the eq knobs? sorry for the dumb question
