She is that lovely in real life. I worked in the Residency office, she has graduated from our program and is in chosen specialty, Rheumatology, thankfully she stayed in Hamilton.
Her most recent vlog was a shift on COVID ICU during the third wave. Very powerful. She got emotional at one point, which I'd never seen on her videos before.
@@coreyjacq I'm in Alberta and we have the worst Covid rate in North America 🤦🏻♀️ we have too many Covid deniers and anti-maskers here. Hopefully we can all get vaccinated soon
So currently, I - a junior doctor trained in Sweden but currently working in Denmark - am watching a junior doctor in the UK watching a junior doctor in Canada. 😆 It’s fun to compare the differences and similarities between our jobs. The patients are about the same but here we typically work 8 or 16 hour shifts. When we are on call we have call rooms available (that we rarely get time to use much anyway). As you assumed, it is quite brutal getting woken up after 10-30 minutes of sleep to go see a rapidly deteriorating patient. So personally, I often end up staying awake all night anyway and rather sleep uninterrupted when I get home instead.

oo havent seen that youtube video in a while. every year she makes a comment like "wow i cant believe im a 2nd year" or "3rd year" etc. Would be fun for yous to liek sit down and compare stories etc, but thats something large. Hope yous all have a good time!
Yep! I agree on the sleeping bit! I work as an HCA in A&E, and I used to try to sleep on my night shifts, but our breaks are only 30 min, so I really just woke up groggy and in that "zombie state" haha! I don't sleep on them now and just chat with the nurses instead! Works much better! Plus sleeping on a sofa in a staffroom doesn't work well either! Love this video, Sarah! xx
I have since she posted a video of her and her husband working on-call together, which was probably a year ago maybe 2 years ago and she's fascinating to watch. I'd highly recommend her Sarah! :) She's so calm and has all the training she needs! :)
