I love the look of this leather. I have a pair of the old Spitfire Red Wing Blacksmith boots and the matte finish is just incredible. Can't wait to see how yours look after you get them out into the wild.

Would be a great to see a follow up video of how the leather is holding up after some use. Really curious to see how the leather looks after the wax starts to wear off a bit.

If he was going to do a custom sole I wish it would have been more of a mini lugged sole. Super glad he brought the spruce kudu back, unfortunately I missed the drop by an hour or so. But I got the previous black spruce so got green covered in the mean time.

Received these bad boys 4 days ago. Absolutely phenomenal. The last is the most ergonomically perfect design Ive ever worn. The boot looks aesthetically perfect. Maintains an air of elegance, and class with a rockers edge. They're very comfortable after breaking them in. Those flat waxed shoe laces are a great touch. Not heavy, not light. Pretty balanced weight. Andrew is a great communicator. This boot is worth every damn penny. They're so good Im selling my Helm boots. All in all; Perfect boot. A boots boot. Das Boot.

How does the width in the toe/ball of your foot area compare to RW Iron Rangers? Saw you wear the same size but EE in RWs. (Unless this is also in wide)

Viberg lasts run a half size larger than Parkhurst. I wear 8 Viberg and 8.5 Parkhurst

@@kosta2177 No, that’s not the point. I’m comparing all the components used and the quality of those materials to other boots like Truman’s, Nick’s and White’s. They easily run $500 to $700 for this type of boot.

It depends on the look you’re going for, but Andrew (Parkhurst) is a standup guy and his customer service is unmatched

@@DalesLeatherworks Do you have any thoughts on sizing differences between Parkhurst and Truman? Parkhurst told me to go 1/2 a size down to a 10, which is snug, but seems to fit (still breaking them in). I just received my Truman 79 last boots today in a 10.5 following their recommendation and I have way more room in the toe box lengthwise than I anticipated. Is that normal for Truman’s when they fit correctly? I am hesitant to gamble on them fitting because I have a pair of $400 oak streets collecting dust in my closet that I only realized were too big after breaking them in for two days. Side note - the Truman’s are absolutely gorgeous boots.

They do look smaller. The welt is not as pronounced as Truman boots.

I’m disappointed that they put commando soles on all of their shoes. I wish they would put studded dainites on them like they use to.

I think Dainite looks better. But for someone who has nearly faceplanted on Dainite soles due to slipping I am glad that they didn't.

Personally, I like Dainites on dress boots, but I use all other boots in this style in much more functional ways than I would dress boots, so commando is the only sole I would personally buy. Different strokes. I’m sure they’ll bring back some other soles, seems like they’re still building out their inventory.

Dainites do look sleeker. They are very fast wearing and become slippery for me once the bumps are worn. Commando last a long time.

Do you know if it’s a full grain suede or is it normal suede? It does look thick enough to be full grain. I don’t like normal suede because it just doesn’t last as long. Edit: on my waxed suede I use otter wax boot wax. Unlike their standard solid beeswax, it comes viscous. So, it does not need to be melted. You can just spread it on and rub in. It’s significantly easier to work with than solid beeswax and it will keep your boots looking fresh. In my experience, using solid beeswax that needs melted always makes a mess and the tone becomes uneven. But with the beeswax boot wax it will keep them looking as they did out of the box.
