Was driving on the A30 towards the M25 in Staines the other day and had an Ashville Lorry behind me - first time encountering one on the road!. Quite impressive in real life to be able to make a connection between the videos and the brand!

I'm loving the weekly's, always entertaining and never dull hahaha. In all fairness there's a lot I take away from Ashville's video's but the one thing I take away that's really helped me in work and business is keeping a positive mindset even when the 'dish is deep' as Daniel would say. You have made more business sense in this video than any before. Competing on Quality not Cost is the way to go if you want to last. Bottle mixers are also the way to if you want to do volume pours. I take my hat off to you sir. I had doubts but I know you can do it now.

As a construction company owner, I agree 👍 💯 with you. In construction it's not worth reducing your price to get jobs. It's absolutely costly overall and unprofitable. The reduction in value of your equipments, the time and energy it consumes it's not worth it at all.

As Queen Jacqueline would say "Know your worth". Something I learned this year with the rise in diesel and our chemical cost. We have had to raise our prices and have turned down big name jobs that are just looking for the cheapest price. We have generally found the clients that stay with us even though we have raised our prices are the ones worth having for life. The ones looking for the cheapest price generally try to get the most out of you they can and treat you the worst.

Because your running 3 businesses on the same site. You could separate the business rates for each of the businesses. saying this part of the yard is being used by this business and this part of the yard is being used by this business. This will most likely entitle you to Small Business Rate Relief depending on the site of the space. (I once worked for my local council as a business rate advisor).

Wow! It's been a while since I've seen a centre steer truck! I used to drive one for a council contractor, it was great because they had 2 of them but no one else would drive them so if mine was in for repair or service I immediately had a clean, reliable back up. The only downside was every time I took annual leave you could guarantee a agency driver would write off a car or traffic island 😂😂

I came across your channel showing a train getting unloaded, but now I watched a few and learned you do many different things in your business, thanks for breaking down business decisions and why things are done a certain way. I’m a union carpenter in NYC, but have had a construction business in the past but realized I was in way over my head. So I appreciate any knowledge your dropping on us viewers.

Hi Daniel love the show. Keep up the good work. Just need to point out it is the Valuation Office Agency and not local authorities that set the Rateable Value. Local authorities collect and administer Business Rates but it’s the VOA who ultimately decides what is charged. That’s why the Council had no problem paying the money back. I work for a local authority and deal with many irate Business Rates payers who believe the local authority is trying to fleece them when their RV is set too high. Just to add rate payers are even more angry with LAs when the VOA increases the RV.

As a construction firm you must draw the line once you've got enough projects in your portfolio to show your competency, creativity and durability of your works to set your price and walk away from anyone and anything that can't meet that ask...

Try getting the water board to show how much water is going to sewer as you use water for concrete making? Example 20% at meter for toilet washing use.The rest will be charged for sewer processing but..not the case as use use water for concrete making. $$$ to be gained.

I think with the videos taking up time, its a careful balance between delegating the process to someone else, and getting it the way you want it to be. Fine balance to be reached, however, I think you'll find that before long.

Hi Daniel, I'm from Cape Town, South Africa. Been watching your content since 2021 with the sticker man's house. I am an engineer for a mining company. We use the bottle mixers. We also have the plants but we set them up as a movable plant, to enable it to be moved closer to sites to bring down the cost/ton. If you have any questions I would gladly help free of charge. We use SAP as a asset management tool.

I'm just a one woman e-waste processing and metal recycling tiny tiny channel and even for me, getting a video out evey week can be a pretty big commitment around work and family etc (but I do because I actually love it so the commitment for me is ok) but when time is actually money like for you then that is a BIG deal and a totally different thing. People will just be happy whenever your videos come out but yes, editing as you go along can actually save you a big block of time at the end! Another fab episode, those electric trucks were looking like sci-fi territory from the original total recall lol🙃

Great content as always 👏 Dan your right it's time to step back from the weekly and how much time you actually devote to producing ashville weekly. Even the sticker man took time out from his RU-vid weekly episodes. Have you ever thought about doing seasons and episodes as and when needed? Like Charlie Sloth does? Creating social media content is full time work. With you running a business such as Ashville maybe it's time to take a step back and focus on creating special episodes once a month.

33:00 The Delorean and BMW are there on a display by ECC- Electric Classic Cars ⚡️ who were on the television series called Vintage Voltage featuring Richard (Moggy) Morgan and Peter Greaves aka Petrol Ped. Moggy has his own screaming vdub pickup which is amazing. Shame you'd not heard of them Daniel, I think you'd have enjoyed a chat with Moggy.

great content Ashville, I cant see how you could have electric construction vehicles like cement trucks or tippers etc... the batteries would have to be huge to power them big vehicles. also imagine the cost to buy one as well. be surprising to see.

Speak to Guy Nicholls TRU 7 (Ipswich) they have just got in to concrete mixers, and run mixers that they replace every 2 years. Your 2 Volvo tippers started life with them lol
