Why? Because he isn’t calling it ugly and boring like everyone who’s in love with the 10th gen? Jeez, let the man have a different opinion than the parroted one you align with
I don’t care what you say, the look is way softer looking than the outgoing, looks good, but not as chiseled as the outgoing. Keeping my 2.0T Touring, it’s not offered for the 11th gen, what a shame.
Sam and I finally see eye to eye on a car review. You must have hit your head during one of those drag races which brought you into the light. Best looking Accord ever, most efficient Accord ever, most comfortable Accord ever, probably just as good handling as any Accord with its rear motion control feature. Only thing I would like is some ambient lighting and auto dimming mirrors on the Touring. As someone who had the 2.0L, it was nice in spurts but it devoured gas in the city if you drove it just a little bit aggressively and suffered in the hot weather. This is what the SH-RLX should have been..RIP (at least we get it's wheel design on the Touring)
Can't wait to see this 11th gen Accord get annihilated on your drag strip by the competition, even worse than the Acura TLX Type S gets destroyed by its own respective competition. As a mainstream car, which is what the Accord is, it's combination of features/efficiency is pretty much unbeatable. I still think the 10th generation looks much more modern imo. I also will definitely miss the 2.0T engine, and believe it was a mistake for Honda to DC it. 🤷♂️
So you call a V6 camry competiton for the hybrid? The direct conpetition for the Accord hybrid is the Camry hybrid and Sonata hybrid, not the Camry V6 and Sonata N-line. As for the 1.5T Accord, again, direct rivals are Camry 2.5 and Sonata 2.5NA, not the Camry V6 and Sonata 2.0T
@Blank No, I'm strictly referring to the best performing engine (upgrade) available in a model lineup. It's not the other manufacturer's fault Honda can no longer compete, as far as performance goes, like the 2.0T used to.
Despite all of the positive points, I still struggle to find even a single reason why I would drive this car... I think honda just killed the Accord. Used to drive an accord.
Good report. Except does not have a CVT. In fact no transmission at all. The drivetrain is more like a diesel locomotive. The ICE engine drive a dynamo that generates electricity for the drive motor. It does feel like a CVT with it’s infinite ratios. This Honda engineering is unique among hybrids.
@@dakotawoodruff2622 Honda uses that terminology to describe their Powertrain. Maybe a better way of describing this system is to refer to it in terms of a verb, “transmitting” the power from the ICE engine through the electrical generator/battery to the wheels. Automotive transmissions are are actually a noun, a mechanical device between the ICE engine and the wheels. No such device exists in this system. No matter, it is an extremely clever piece of engineering that only Honda uses to simplify the process. Competitors are all using actual physical transmissions to accomplish this, complicating the process. Repeat; the Honda system feels and hears like a CVT to the driver.
Sounds like you are an employee of HTM. Been there many times. If so you probably know that the CVT that Honda uses on many Accords, Civics, and CR-Vs is made at the Anna Engine Plant for several years now. It is considered one of the best CVTs out there. This is an actual transmission using two tapered steel cones connected by a steel belt. Actually this transmission is used on the base non-hybrid ‘23 Accords.
I see tons of 2.0t. Let's be real honda sells plenty of 2.0ts. The real question is were there 2.0ts made that didn't sell?? I doubt it. This is just business decisions based on the bottom line, the whole argument they just didn't sell is BS It's obvious that a 2.ot model won't sell as much as a base model because of price. That goes for every manufacturer.
@@drmvp21 Honda flat out stated less than 20% of Accord sales were the 2.0T, not enough to continue with the new generation and with emission regulations tightening over the next 5 years.
@@TheBreakfastLover Honda sold ~ 225k Accords with the 2.0T since 2018 and millions of V6 Accords since 1995. There's obviously a market for higher performing Accords. But I'm sure the masses will flock to the new Accord Hybrids and enjoy the better fuel economy and that's totally fine. There are just fewer and fewer choices for those of us wanting quicker, roomy, reliable and still somewhat practical sedans in the $35k - $45k price range.
@@a32tl unfortunately, sedan sales in general have decreased by 50% in the past 10 years. Honda is making changes to accommodate an SUV and EV focused market that meets emission regulations.

This accord may be the best accord for the masses. But it's not the best accord for me. Guess its used accords for me from now on if I ever get rid of my V6
If you ever want another accord you better be gettin a 2.0t, I got a 22 sport 2.0t a couple months ago and I’ve been having fun with it while also being in serene comfort
I like it, but im gonna have to save up for a car. Hopefully Ill be ready for a new car in 2 years and by then the price of this one will be appropriately lower
Great review and a beautiful car, love the radiant red. I’m seriously thinking of getting one of these. It will be a big step up from my 2013 2.4 accord touring which I’m currently driving. My main complaint is no spare tire but this is a real poor man’s luxury automobile.
You're saying you don't feel a massive difference in power between this one and 2.0...but this is a 7 sec car and 2.0 Sport is a 5 sec car. I'd argue it's day and night in terms of performance.
This is a 6 second car actually. And the difference isn’t too noticeable in traffic. Especially with the instant torque you get from the dual electric motors. It’s at higher speeds/rpms where the 2.0T eats this alive.
This car looks like a cheap fleet rental vehicle to me - a mix of Chevy Malibu for the back and ford taunts for the front. Inside is plastic fantastic and very monochromatic - A two tone interior goes a long way in making it less boring.
21 2.0t Touring here bought brand new in Dec 2020. I like the interior of this new one and that is where it stops for me. Come replacement time for the batteries, it’s going to be big $. Extended warranty will not cover that either. It’s on you. Another reason I don’t want a Hybrid. People will be unloading these left and right when it’s time to replace the battery.
No one buying new will care about battery life. Original owners keep their cars 2-3 years. Thats it. Enthusiasts even trade more frequently. I feel sorry for the owners who get stuck down the road.
I have a 2012 insight with 216K on it original battery still runs great. Other than brakes and tries oil changed etc this car hasn't cost me one dime in repairs. It always starts nothing ever breaks - not so far anyway. I saw one of these accords at a dealer the other day and while I agreee the style is kind of a snoozer (I much prefer camry styling) the interior is better tan any other car in the category. The tech is as advanced as you can get at this point, so I'll probably get one of these, mostly because most of my time will be spent inside the car
Honda gives me another reason to switch brands with every new car they release. Next car finally is not going to be a Honda/Acura. Was loyal since 02'.They just no longer give you what u want.
I'm now 110% convinced Honda paid you guys to say this is the best accord ever. Watched 4 other reviews and the look on their faces saying this is the best accord ever and no more 2.0t says it all. ANYWAYS, I seen it at the auto show in white and it's a nice looking car inside and out. But it's not the best ever, EVER
Sam you dont really think this is the best accord ever I mean c'mon. Take away the whole 2.0, V6, coupe stuff. How bout we talk about the accords of the late 80s through 90s with double wishbone suspension, later VTEC in the 90s I mean those are the best.
You have raced the 2.0T against several notable cars time after time. And the Accord 2.Ot won hands down several times. I would like to see you put this 11 generation Accord car up against an other competition. Do you hear crickets too??
rear looks way more like an audi. front does look sort of like a taurus because of the grill and headlights shape, but if you see them together the accord is way lower and less angular,
Great review, as someone who owns a good amount of relatively fast cars(10-11s in the quarter) my 10th generation hybrid is a JOY to daily. The torque from the battery is a monster for that 0 to 20mph blast from stop lights. For how plush it rides, it's superbly damped and handles really well. Barely takes any gas and the second row where my kids sit, make our SUV feel tiny and cramped. Amazing on gas to boot, going 65mph I get about 55mpg. This is a VERY WELL DONE and relevant review. If you're getting a front wheel drive Sedan with a 2 l engine and trying to modify it into a sports car you're seriously doing it wrong and your opinion is invalid(maybe a type r but a accord,no)
i think if you're worried about how people modify their own cars, you have way too much time on your hands. as well you should do a bit of research because its clear you have a immature view of things. major tuning companies invest in these cars and there are leagues that host fwd events. i guess they're wrong as well. your best bet is to stay silent while the grown folks do all the talking
@@kirkvanvranken3560 I guess tireburner telling people what to do with their own cars is grown up enough for you? Don't play yourself kid. Worst part is, you don't even have the ability to make a valid point
One thing I'd like to see Honda do with the Accord nameplate is to make a liftback/hatchback or wagon version, and call it the Accord Liftour or Accord Hatchtour or Accord Wagontour, but keep the low center of mass found on the existing Accord, Integra, Civic Hatchback, etc. The Stinger is axed, and the Arteon is on the way out, and I'f love to see the Honda do something with the Accord (and TLX) to pick up where the Stinger and Arteon are leaving off, because despite all those dicontinuations, the idea of a car with additional practicality and low center of mass is a highly underrated idea with so much potential.
you are missing the point about drag racing, we love the 2.0T because of the avail power and fun to drive, 200 hp for this hi end trim is too low, agree with you that the exterior looks better
They absolutely ruined the car for us in the tuning community. you took a sleeper of a car that had the potential to run high 10 or low 11 which some are already doing in a family sedan that's not a sports car is unheard of! Not since the 87 GN and GNX was there such a tuning potential in sleeper making it four doors and not considered a sports car makes it even more of a unicorn! Maybe it'll become like the 87 gn's collectible they didn't produce that many 2.0 liter compared to a 1.5. but you insult our intelligence and put a CVT across-the-board makes the car undesirable
Who in their right mind wants a front wheel drive softly damped, tiny breaks, 11 second car. I have an accord as a daily and own several 10 and 11 second cars but your talking about a market of a few hundred people on a car they sell 100,000s of. The take rate for a 2.0t was like 7 to 8 percent. No market for that but once again a 11s front wheel drive car is a joke.
@@Tireburner7 first of all you're dumb as fuk because that's what they said about the Buick regal which I own why would they make it fast aka the GNA g n x and that was a cold car but people like you wouldn't know your ass from the hole in the ground! The Accord had a great tuner platform that was the whole idea of the car at family sedan that hauls ass not since the shor they made a four door family car like that remember it's not a sports car dumbass it was a family sedan. Then on top of everything else you might have been to con people into buying the new record if they had a real transmission instead of a bulshit CBT that feels like a sewing machine that absolutely killed that car no one will buy this car
340i and 540i family sedans are still available. Rear drive too. v6 Accords aren’t becoming collectible, and 2.0t won’t either. Especially with fast electrics on the way.

Since they are basically going hybrid I hope they give us a 300hp hybrid with awd that will make up for everything imo Just like Toyota prime models 300hp awd
Last gen looked way better. There also is no performance model anymore. I think your unpopular opinion will stay a unpopular opinion lol. The only honda come up was honestly the civic type R. More elegant design and has performance.
At least this new front end doesn't look like it's going to turn into a Transformer like most of the cars out there.I,m not twelve years old.Are you twelve years old mullen25.
The front end and poor rim design throw me off. It needs more interior color options, pano moonroof and a more powerful hybrid option. Otherwise, it's a great car
Good review. everything is better perhaps on the new accord in the interior perhaps... But the 2.0T engine is far better vehicle in terms of performance and smiles per gallon. This accord is just not a replacement for that. What made the accord special was getting sporty performance in a package of the V6 and latter 2.0T while not stepping up to the Germans for a similar performance. Clearly that is not a viable option anymore.
Honda Accord and Toyota Camry’s dominate the cab industry of major cities in the United States. Torcher tested and proven as the main transportation vehicles for over a decade. Checkers then Chevy/Ford, today even Prius out sell cabs. Lift and Uber they are majority. My observation when visiting home, Manhattan.
You didn't watch a single review of this car? Didn't read any reviews of this car? How did you know that saying this is the best Accord ever is an unpopular opinion?
That’s a very good question, I know this because of the comments on Honda’s Canada and US on Insta. I can tell fans didnt like this. Also, my followers on Insta, which I have a lot of Accord fans, complained in my DMs when Honda first introduced this. Cheers
People hate change. The previous gen looked more masculine and when any designer makes it smooth and feminine, the guys complain. Not just Honda but Audi, bmw, etc. This accord looks much different and it will be a few years before the controversy is over .
@@SamCarLegion People hated the looks of those cars initially but at least those cars were fast and fun. Going from a 2.0T Sport at $27000 to a CVT and less horsepower for $27000 is a lot different. And $38000 for the Touring? 204 Hp? You have to agree that is over priced.
@@chrisrobles2012 In a couple of years people are going to say "That was great when the Accord 2.0T went from a 10 speed auto with 252 Hp to a CVT/ECVT with 192/204 Horsepower"?
I still can't get with the Taurus Malibu design. I've seen images of the upcoming new 2024 Toyota Camry. It will put this new Honda Accord to shame! This is now for IRA retirement pension buyers. The youth and fun of it has officially died!
I don't know, a lot of the renderings I see of the next generation camry look like oversizes Priuses. Pretty sure thats what we'll be reading if thats the look they go with
@Mike Smith The new Prius is now more attractive and sleek looking. If that's the direction they going with, then I take it over this geritol new Accord.
If I were to buy this car it would definitely be in that red color, the other colors are just meh. But I'm not feeling this new Accord therefore I won't be buying. I sat in this car yesterday and besides the space I'm not a fan of the interior especially having copied the civic interior design. This is your flagship sedan I feel like interior should depart a lot more from the rest of your lineup just my opinion. But in any case I don't like the layout of the civic dash interior design therefore I don't care for this Accord interior design.
Your comments are 100% right. I check both Civic and accord, its almost same shit. This review lost him mind. Later i stop my Acura, man TLX is 1000times nicer in and out and quality is superb 👌. This review said he would take acoord hybrid over TLX, he lost his mind.
5.5 seconds for the 2.0T and 7.2 seconds for the new Accord Hybrid. Quite a difference! The new Accord will probably feel fine up to about 60 mph. Over that, and one will immediately notice the lack of those 48 extra horsepower from the 10th generation.
@@demottefamily2532 Perhaps but most every review I've seen, including Car & Driver, has it in the low 7 second range. I would tend to trust the general consensus over the outlier.
The 10th gen looks a lot more like the Civic than the 11th gen. Although any Civic and any Accord has a better rear end than the 10th gen accord. Man that thing is hideous.
The accord looks ugly and it doesn’t have the motor everyone wants. I don’t know why every car reviewer keeps saying it’s good. I decided to get a 2023 civic hatchback sport touring last month when I saw how ugly the new accord is
I think they did a good job of the restyle, you have to consider the market they’re going after. The only complaint I have is the screen stuck on top of the dash. I’ve had so many cars with the same design and I’m over it! It’s ugly and lazy. Incorporate it into the dash Honda!
Not having the 2.0 turbo is not a big deal at all. Drive one and you will see that it’s ok. I love my 2024 accord hybrid sport L. And that’s coming from someone who had a 2021 Lexus IS 350..
I definitely haven’t been a big fan of the outgoing generation’s interior or exterior but Honda certainly knocked that incoming gen out of the park with all its aesthetics. The only reason I wouldn’t personally purchase one would be because of the seemingly underwhelming powertrains, but otherwise, it looks to be a great and much needed product offering in their evolving lineup - mature and *so* much better looking.
Last year, Hyundai and Kia said that their current Sonata and K5 will be their last ICE midsize sedans. But then, Chevy made a lasr minute decision to give their Malibu another gen amd Honda's new Accord was not received very well. Do you think that after all that midsize segment news, Hyundai and Kia could give the Sonata and K5 another gen?
You said, u love everything about the new 11th gen accord..really?! Honestly, there is nothing about the new accord I could fall in love with. Vw and Ford Taurus look and top of that No fog no 2.0 , no aggressive lines , no exhaust tips and the price tag is from 31 to 40 k?!! No thank u , if im going to spend that much dough I rather go with an acura. Period
Unfortunately inflation is here . Acura is always overlayed over the highest trim of Honda . So it only makes sense to get into a base Acura specifically for the design aspect. So either get all the tech and fully loaded Honda , or go for design and get a base Acura . Try to get a fully loaded Acura and you are out of your budget and at the high end. Then people start comparing luxury cars.
It's better than the Legacy. As for the refreshed Sonata, as futuristic and cooll looking as that is, I'm not a fan of how they replaced hard button climate controls with a capacitive panel, and the weird thing is that a few days prior to the Sonata refresh reveal, Hyundai promised to bring back buttons, so Hyundai obviously broke that promise with the Sonata.
Not a CVT. Even the e cvt is not a CVT. The screen is the same as the 9 inch in the top trim Civic except bigger. The Civic is a awesome car especially in sport touring trim with the manual transmission. CR-V is also top notch and has the exact same powerplant as this accord which by the way you liked. Incomplete review that left out important facts.
The problems I find with the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid: 1. No All Wheel Drive is available 2. No heated steering Wheel is available 3. No spare tire is available 4. No XM Radio. If a 2023 or 2024 car missing all of these features is fine for you, then get one. Hopefully, by the time 2025 comes around these deficiencies will be resolved.

For those arguing "the 2023 Camry has a V6 with a lot more power", are you sure that will carry over to the next gen? Sure, 2.4T may be a thing, but sedans have stricter EPA standards than an equivalent CUV. I think Honda might be working on a more powerful version of I-MMD hybrid (whether just more power or PHEV in the works). As for Toyota, I think their flagship powertrain for the 2024 Camry might either be a more powerful hybrid or a borrow from the Rav4 Prime.
Should have not let 2.0T go away. I am such a big fan of 2.0T, that I can have 100% electric car (for small chores/family) and 2.0T only for the driving pleasure.
