I have been looking for a documentary on princess Louise.I think she Is absolutely fascinating Going against the grain is no easy thing especially if you are a member of the royal family Especially when queen victoria is your mother
I can fully imagine that the claims made by the alleged Great Grandson may surly have merit. Matters then , as well as now, with the royals are held in deep secrecy if it goes against the norms/traditions of the Royal family. I feel this beautiful Lady went through so much heart ache..Thank you for all your hard work Jon in the quest to understand the facts..
Great video. I have been interested in Princess Louise for a few years now and am always glad to see more information about her. Two points I would like to add. Rather than standards of the time, I think double standards is more accurate. Her brother the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, had numerous mistresses. Her forced marriage to a Scottish aristocrat, is also very suspicious. She would have been expected to marry a foreign prince.
Hi, awesome live history video I enjoyed it. How are you doing? I'm doing well. I always enjoy watching your history videos every weekend. See you next video 😊
There were many many years after the birth and adoption of this mystery child that Louise lived yet you barely touch on them. I’d be interested in finding out about her life after this event throughout her adulthood into her old age and death.
A few years ago I read a book focusing on Queen Victoria's daughters. The author thanked Queen Elizabeth for her permission to examine the royal archives. The only one of Queen Victoria's daughters not available was Princess Louise. The author tried the Campbell archives and the archives in Ottawa as well, with the same result. Nothing. The mystery is intriguing but I have to say, what's the big deal? This lady has been dead for a century. I suppose if there are descendants from an unwelcome pregnancy that could be problematic for the descendants and the royal family to some degree. However, it was a long time ago.
This particular video reminded me of why I no longer support the need for the Royal family to continue to have the respect and love of the people of Britain. I personally think it's time the idea of having a Royal family to come to an end. Especially since recent conspiracy theories regarding Catherine Princess of Wales after her 'abdominal' surgery. I have my suspicions as to what she really had, but I choose not to say what because I don't want to add further fuel to the ridiculous theories flying around like so much choking dust in the air. Enough said. Thank you, Jon, yet again.
@cassandraralph5906 Catherine has cancer, why should hat have any bearing on whether or not there continues to be a royal family? There is alway an elite with more power and money than others, at least the BRF have a sense of duty.
I enjoy your documentaries so very much, Jon. As much as I loved this one, are you ever likely to do one on Joan of Kent please? In appreciation, Elizabeth 🥀👑🥀👑
Contrast this behaviour with that of the Danish Princess Thyra, who supposedly was seduced by the first love of an adjutant and how her parents supposedly went so far to care lovingly for her.
More research on Louise's life would need to be done before an educated guess can be given about this matter. Certainly it's an intriguing story, though, one well worth looking into. 🤔
I always thought it was the Danish Princess Thyra that had a secret lovechild. 🤔 I've never heard this before today but if he @HistoryRoadshow thinks it might be so, then I do too! If the baby had Haemiphilia I'd say there would've been no question. But Louise wasn't a Carrier as far as I know like Alice and Baby Bea
It never presents it as fact but is going over the claim of someone currently living that directly links to a part of the Royal family. This seems like a logical choice of subject
She married well, which would have been highly unlikely if she'd already born a child. She and Victoria were close, she acted as her mother's secretary for some time. A romantic story but probably fictitious.
