Anne Stafford was definitely playing with fire. Being involved with Henry VIII while her family was already politically charged was a dangerous move. Her brother’s fate showed just how high the stakes were, and she was indeed fortunate to only spend time in a nunnery rather than facing harsher consequences.

Neuroppsychologist @professorgraemeyorston suggests in his video on Emily Brontë that she was probably autistic. Being autistic myself I found this absolutely convincing. The fact that her execution was NOT justified was in itself horrible, but the way her execution was carried out by Guillotine and witnessed by hostile spectators is horrifying. Human logic and judgment less than 300 years ago was scary.
