Yep. Same here. And when, as an adult, when I realized that it was false teachings and left, I lost my entire family because if they spoke to me they would get kicked out. I found out that my mother asked for me on her deathbed, but no one would even let me know that she was dying. Now my son, who was wooed into joining them by his grandparents is no longer allowed to speak to me. My daughter said it best when she said that I have had to bury him without a funeral.

A child can’t drive or drink or even get married, but a lifetime choice should be out, Jesus, a perfect man didn’t get baptized till thirty, or maybe a bit more, so if a perfect man waits till he’s an adult so the children should be, nothing wrong with baptism but, to a printing and real estate company,? I just recently drove down into the city which is rare for me...and I was shocked to see the DOUBLE kingdom hall I assisted building in 1986 is now closed down and boards on the front. Don't know if it's for sale but definitely vacant. Meanwhile all the old churches that I remember as a little kid are still standing and being attended. KH only lasted 33 yrs. Watchtower stuff definitely has a 'sell by' date as JT said....and then it rots!!

This was a good move! My husband’s family is still in there. They completely cut him off after his disfellowship. Now he is talking about going back. I think manly for his family. I told him I will attend meetings but that’s it.

That booklet, but one of the things that it focused on was organization this, organization that, and I pointed out scriptures that let them know, that the emphasis is supposed to be on Jehovah, not the organization. And, they would come up with counter-arguments and then me and my mother would come up with other counter-arguments our, true selves, So, eventually they got to the point to where they couldn't handle it and they stopped coming to the studies, but before that this elder and his wife got up! I mean steamed, it was like they were on fire, our true selves, but me and my mother were quoting straight out of the Bible and they didn't like it!

My parents also get rid of all old publications back then.. I was too young now I understand why. Before that they wouldn't even think of throwing them away. If I'm not mistaken it was encouraged to do so because they introduced the watchtower library

The Australian Royal Commission stated in their findings after the fact in regards to WT, that baptizing young children was a form of abuse. Because when these young ones become teens they may change their minds. They would then be ostracized and lose their entire support system because of WT's policies on shunning.

John Cedars has found articles printed by Watchtower that say they have baptized children as young as 5...
