So ironic that their cruel reinstatement policy often has the opposite effect of drawing ones back into the fold. My own son woke up while waiting tirelessly to be reinstated! My heart broke for him when he was denied reinstatement and gave up. Little did we know that while he was out, he had begun to do his own research and woke himself up and then us-his parents! What’s that scripture about not exasperating or antagonizing your children, so that they don’t get discouraged? Watchtower needs to seriously take heed!

@@paultheoutdoorsman thank you Paul. Indeed we are. But bittersweet as we lost our only daughter to the cult when we woke up-she turned us into the elders. "You fathers, do not be exasperating your children, so that they do not become downhearted."- Colossians 3:21,NW 1984 edition. Incidentally, the parallel verse reads: "And you, fathers, do not be irritating your children, but go on bringing them up in the discipline and authoritative advice of Jehovah." (Ephesians 6:4,NW, 1950 and 1961 editions) The phrase "authoritative advice", in English, suggests that the very best advice on child-rearing comes from the great heavenly Father himself. But is this the point the Society wants Jehovah's witnesses to realize? To answer that question, consider this: Many of us recall that the phrase "authoritative advice" was changed in the 1970, 1971, 1981 and 1984 editions to the term "mental-regulating". That, right there, shows where the Society stands upon the topic of child-rearing, or, for that matter, how the Society views adults within the organization! The Society sees only minds which need to be "regulated" according to its teachings and policies. This is why the Society tells Jehovah's witnesses, as, for example, in "The Watchtower" of January 15, 1983, to "Avoid Independent Thinking" and to "Fight Against Independent Thinking"; in short, the Society tells Jehovah's witnesses to not think and reason for themselves but, rather, only what the Society tells them to think. The Society does this by controlling the flow of information which Jehovah's witnesses are permitted to receive. That, in turn, affects the way Jehovah's witnesses think; and, once the minds of witnesses are "regulated" (more accurately "controlled"), the Society has free rein to control the emotions and, subsequently, the behaviour of Jehovah's witnesses, so as to act in only the way the Society directs. These facts indicate that the answer to the above question is: No, the Society does not want Jehovah's witnesses to realize that the very best advice on child-rearing comes from the great heavenly Father, he for whom they claim to be witnesses. On the contrary, Jehovah's witnesses are to rely solely and entirely upon the Society for "advice", not only on how to raise their children, but, also on how to lead their own lives as adults, to lead what the Society calls the "best life ever". In view of this, the Society stands exposed as a cult.

It's because they hold your family hostage from speaking with you on any level. If your entire family were JWs, then they are asked to treat you like a pile of crap. And if you were a witness for 40-50 years, all of the hundreds of friends you made are not allowed to talk with you socially as well; once they find out you were DF'd. So for many like myself; it's because we miss our kids, grandkids, brothers and sisters, etc. I think for most of us; especially those that were shunned for trivial reasons of conscience; and because the elders decided to impose their own personal opinions of what is a "sin"; a "serious sin" even;; we don't want to belong to a cult organization with lying, arrogant, hypocrites taking the lead. We just want to serve God and Christ in peace with others of like faith.

I tried again 6 months ago, only because of pressure from aging parents ... 2nd round new elders new city, am now in my 50's ....."asked why do I care now"....treated me so cold that my non JW husband didn't understand why they were so nice to him and cold shoulder with me.....they explained it was loving discipline....he said he won't allow them to treat me badly....and that was that... A couple of weeks went by and I didn't hear back from the elders so after the meeting one Sunday I asked what the status was on my letter. This kind of conduct was condemned by the inspired apostle Paul at Galatians 1: 10.----"Is it in fact , men I am trying to persuade, or God? Or am I seeking to please men? If I were yet pleasing men, I would not be Christ's slave." See my further comments above. Thanks, and may Jah be with you.

I have been through this. I missed 3 meeting in 3 years. It was down to a bullying elder. My dog was dieing when I phoned an elder to help me. He said I can't because I was DFD. The dog was crying in pain when I phoned him. The same elder went to court to support a child groomer in my congregation. I know this to be true because I went to that court session. I was disgusted. Anyway I stopped going after reading CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE. if you want to see the story about the child groomer I could send you it as I reported it to my local newspaper. They where never going to reinstate me anyway. My crime for getting DF was standing up to an elder on moral conduct.

You know, that is a good point. I'm at the point of after almost 3 years and 3 requests for reinstatement; I'm not waiting for the official uninformed opinions of 3 men in my current congregation, or the 3 dickheads in my original congregation to give me their stamp of approval for worshiping the true God in "spirit and truth". Jehovah NEVER left me, and has forgiven me of sins where I made them. He or his son Jesus reinstated me a long time ago! And that's what really matters. I think I'm just going to tell my family that I'm back after going to a brand new congregation soon; once in a while. The only problem I have is that the organization controls your life by asking for your publisher records card if you move to another congregation; which has a record of your Df'ing and reinstatement, etc. Not sure how I'm going to handle that when and if the time comes. Maybe just prove to them who I really am; and that I'm just there to serve my God with people who want to do the same. You shouldn't "keep account of the injury; or "keep one's transgressions in front of you', as if what you did in the past bears on who you are today and what your life pattern is. And perhaps, when asked for my records, just tell them "YOU DON'T NEED MY RECORDS, BROTHER, "faith is proved by works". "By their fruits you will recognize them."...(1 Corinth. 13: 5;....Psalm 103: 8, 9; 12,...James 2: 18 Matt. 7: 20.

As an ex-elder, I knew what it took to repent and turn around, clarify my mind, and restore a clear conscience with Jehovah. So in 7 months, I was completely ready to request reinstatement. Sent a letter to the Presiding Overseer/Coordinator. Took 4 weeks for any of my original committee to acknowledge my request. Since we had just prior to that began to meet in person again, they asked that I come in person to the meetings to prove my sincerity; despite the fact that an average of 2-3 dozen and more publishers were only tuning in electronically on teleconference. So I played their game for a few months, and agreed that meeting in person is so much better. Anticipating that soon I would be able to shake hands with and enjoy conversation with my ex-brothers and sisters; I diligently attended for 3 months more. Then I re-submitted my request. A week or so later, the chairman and 1 other elder on the committee asked to see me briefly in the back room. They stated there that they heard "something", from "someone", who claimed that they saw something on the internet in a blog that they "thought" was me saying it. Really? That sounded like conjecture if I ever heard it, and no firm evidence was presented. But it was late and I was tired, and didn't feel like getting into it then. What an emotionally devastating blow of discouragement! If I hadn't developed a fearless and strong emotional constitution over the years, and learned to tap into God's spirit, I probably would have committed suicide by now. And believe me, many in this situation have! So this shows the terrible un-Christlike disposition of "men-pleasers", putting man-made rules ahead of the "mind of Christ", and Jehovah's great mercy and compassion. Eph. 6: 6, 7, Matt. 15: 6, 9, 1 Cor. 2: 16., Psalm 103: 8-13 They are becoming like the Pharisees of Jesus' day! Matt. 23: 4, 13)

This is so true JT. More importantly those who are disfellowshiped or physically and mentally out don't receive a shepherding call. I was literally out for 1.5 years. No shepherd call nor visit to ask or talk to me about why..... however as soon as they heard I started dating my phone and text blew up with the need to meet with them. By me honestly asking why the urgency now after 1.5 years of silence. I guess that was the wrong question. When I finally agreed to meet, there was no meeting. They had decided my fate prior to hearing my story, having even two witnesses or anything. I walked in to a meeting where they literally told me they just decided to disfellowship me..worst.2 minutes of my life. I often thought of playing their game because my sister said it's "easy now to be reinstated " but I have never been phoney and honestly your channel and others have made me know I made the right choice. Thank you again. I know a sister whose daughter was disfellowshiped and when she died unexpectedly of CA her daughter was treated like she wasn't there at the funeral while her brother who had been reprimanded for cheating was embraced as a grieving human. I liked this couple very much but "witnessing" this was an eye opener for me. They don't promote loving forgiveness and embracing back in. They will always judge.

I was disfellowshipped in 1999. I asked the elders how long I had to wait until a could ask to be reinstated. They said that there was no minimum time limit. So I gave my ‘requested for reinstatement’ letter the next month. The elders immediately let me know that “it was too soon.” I was so angry that in a couple of weeks I stopped going to the meetings all together. Two years later, my wife and I decide to go back to the meetings. I told her, “you know that we won’t be reinstated for at least another year, right?” (She was disfellowshipped for not shunning me) To our surprise, _one month later_ the elders met with us to let us know that we were reinstated. We didn’t ask to be reinstated! We were going to wait a year before making such request. We took it as a win for us.

I was dfd for a year from 18-19 not for what I had done wrong, I even told on myself the very next day because I felt so guilty and so horrible for the choice I made to get drunk and ended up with a guy at a party. I was dfd because I had dated the nephew, broke up with him after 3 months because I decided I was not ready for marriage and we never did more than held hands one single time, of the elder on my committee was angry that I didn't marry his nephew. I responded with "i did not do anything wrong with your nephew". The response was "I HAVE already made up MY mind and you're being disfellowshipped!". I had to move to a congregation where I had known the elders since I was a child and spoke to the elder who was best friends with my dad who actually told me what was done was wrong. That elder should NOT have been the on my committee at all, much less the lead elder which he was, due to the fact I had dated his nephew. They reinstated me after the obligatory year and I left at 24 , just walked away, after they told my dying dad he couldn't have platelets but he could have bone marrow if he made it that far in his cancer treatments. He did not live in the same area where I was reinstated at that point so not the elders he was friends with prior who reinstated me as a teenager. It's just disgusting the entire process. The questions they asked an 18 year old female, all by myself, three grown men, was absolutely uncalled for and absolutely disgusting!

I knew this young person from my mother’s congregation who was disfellowshipped for years. He kept trying to get reinstated, but because he would miss the occasional meeting, the elders will deny his request. Since he didn’t own a car, he would try to hitchhike to the Kingdom Hall. The J-Dubs would see him and keep driving. He eventually got himself a bicycle and got to the meetings this way. For years he would sit in the back, many times crying, yet because of his meeting attendance, as far as I know, he was never reinstated.

Granted I was dissed because I fornicated one time and called my coordinator to confess literally 30 minutes later. One of the sheperds on my committee daugthers liked me and because I had never pursued her I could clearly tell he was out to get me which is why he was so quick to be the chair or the committee. The reason why it takes long for a person to get reinstated is really because they want to make you feel like crap. I mean honestly the reinstatement process has really nothing to do with whether the individual is ready to come back or not but it's about if elders feel you are ready. That's not how God dealt with people in the Bible Manesah is one example he was punished for his sins and yet when he pleaded with God for forgiveness God felt compassion and he was forgiven.

Yet still confused I had to make a decision as one Preacher prophet said she said you know what am talking about e eventually I chosen the Churcha that's why I go disfellowship on my day off Chirst made away to serve him completely. This PERSONALLY touched me. I have been disfellowshipped for seven years, but in May 2021 I contacted my elders, requesting reinstatement. I flipped my life upside down. My partner and I weren't married, we had two kids together, but I wanted to make things right with Jehovah and to be approved by Him again, so we separated. I starting getting my life back in line with Jehovah's standards. Not having sex, not living together, teaching my daughter Bible truths, attending meetings, praying again, personal bible study, you name it, I did it. It's been almost 19 months and still no word. They had ONE meeting with me, just telling me to "keep doing what you're doing" and that pretty much summed it up. The only time they spoke with me was when I would send them emails, letting them know I was discouraged, that I needed help understanding a certain teaching, etc. But no one contacted me unless I initiated the conversation. My other, whose inactive, also receives no interaction and no one is reaching out to help or encourage her. They have even said they would set up a sister to come by and study with her or someone would call her, but to avail. Yet, in their publications, they swear by helping inactive ones return to the "truth'. I have seen firsthand that the re-instatement process is pure and utter bull.

This "bother" was in business with and friends with the PO/Coordinator so he was reinstated after 6 months. It took me about a year to get my privileges back and that was with me going to the elders asking for them back at least once or twice a month. I remember when I was a JW I was a pioneer and ministerial servant I got disfellowshipped because of fornication. My mentor was on my committee and was the one who advocated the hardest to disfellowship me. When I tried to get reinstated he didn’t want me to come back . I tried once and never went back after.

At my mother’s congregation, the presiding overseer’s (now Coordinator) daughter was disfellowshipped. She had to go back to her parent’s house because her baby-daddy was beating her. The elder couldn’t keep her at his home because he would lose his title and position. So he told her that she would be reinstated in the next meeting. The problem was that the young girl did not want to be reinstated, and she openly let that fact be known. Regardless, the announcement was made. She was so angry that she packed her bags and went back to her abusive boyfriend and got disfellowshipped again. *You can’t make up these stories!*

Let’s think about confessions. You have to tell all the nasty details to the elders. Elders will inform other elders. Watchtower will store a record of your deed. The elders will light you up on the podium without using your name. You will get shunned in some form. You may get marked. You will be called a bad associate and have your name dragged in the mud. You may get disfellowshipped and lose your family, friends and support network. All because you are required to rat yourself out. The Watchtower gains a lot in that they get to know someone whose mistakes can ruin its business and use you as a warning example. The person confessing gains nothing, loses a lot and is made into a fool (only fools tell on themselves). 🤔. The members of JW are turned into dummies following some old men in Warwick. Go tell that to non-JW. They will 😆 at you and rightfully so.

My JW Sister commited fornication with her worldly boyfriend never confess and married the guy...years later she commited adultery never confess her worldly husband forgave her...later on they divorced ... she now wanted to marry a JW brother this time...Well they committed Fornication never confess and got married...Now the WT ORG says if a "Sin" was committed years ago you don't have to confess your Conscience is Cleared....so if you want to be an Elder you don't have to Confess your Past Sins...long story short "Keep your Mouth Shut"...😲🤨🤫🤭

@@jessicanerpio-cauldwell4987 it’s odd your sister would tell you her sex life and her 🛌-hopping. Anyway, you are corrected. It’s best to 🤐 about serious sin. On the other hand, a fully indoctrinated witness would still confess because he/she is trained to under threat of losing some invisible divine force and 💀 when Tony Morris and others become angels at Armageddon and massacre people. They are also ignorant of the rule you just mentioned as only elders and apostate know it. Elders won’t tell. They are forbidden to listen to Apostates.

I'm an ex Jw and I am in the hospital. I have internal bleeding. I left a message for my mother. She didn't call back.none of my family cares. Depending on how things go I may need a blood transfusion. I don't really want one. However I feel imoral to leave my sick wife behind. I signed it and will take it if it is the last resort. The disfellowship arrangement is so loving. I'm in the hospital by my self depressed as hell, feel lonely and useless. It's a loving arrangement. Lol whatever you tell yourselves.

Everyone treats you like an outsider even to the day you're announcement of reinstatement. You walk into the kh and you get the same looks and whispers and are made to feel like nothing, soon as the announcement is made everyone is oh I love you, we missed you blah blah blah, fake smiles and bs. It is pretty eye opening an experience honestly. Though it took me several years and my dad's death to leave, I actually really saw the hypocrisy and blatant fakeness that permeated the organization through that exp. I was just a teenager though and knew nothing else and that year of being cut off from everyone I loved and cared about was horrific, the crap I heard about myself even worse. If I had done half the crap I heard I did wrong... dam... it truly is crazy how members can claim this whole better than existence while treating those who do not share their thoughts and beliefs with such hate and vitriol. I have heard members say they wanted to murder or thatthey were looking forward to the death of even their own family members who came out as gay. I sit here thinking to myself wtf did they do to you personally? How is their life and who they love actually causing you enough harm, or any for that matter, that you would wish and threaten harm and or death on them?! Not the behavior preached but then again it falls right in line when you actually think about what is taught. They tell you to "HATE" what they see as bad claiming Jehovah sees it as a sin. They celebrate the verses in the Bible that talk about death and destruction upon those who did not believe. They celebrate the thought that Armageddon will be the death of billions, even innocent newborns. It is ingrained in members to live for and love the idea of mass murder and hate all the while hiding behind this is Jehovah and his loving provision to take care of only this small group of ppl. It is sick.

The whole cart thing is so crazy. You are so right JT, you can go in service but u need to be approved for the carts? Makes no sense. We had “cart training” at our hall on a school night, after mid-week meeting and I am actually, literally the sister johnson with the 3 kids you always talk about (so that always makes me laugh) anyways, single mom and they said training is after mid-week meeting and I said I can’t stay because my kids are little and need to get to bed and the elder, ever so harshly said: “oh well you’re off carts then” I said “well can’t I make the training up?” He just said nope and walked off. Ice cold. But it happened to be a blessing in disguise because what do I need to even be doing that with 3 kids? 🤪 things completely changed too in the hall when I went from married to single mom status. Omg u felt it. I felt completely forgotten. I moved and one sweet sister showed up to help. I just thought “widows and orphans, yeah right”... no one cared. They would invite the pioneer sister I was talking to to gatherings, in front of me and the babies, and it hurt so badly.

Excellent video JT and Lady Cee. It disgusts me how WT and the people in it practice this hurtful shunning. I was never DFd but many times I would miss meetings and I wouldn't go out in service much. I hated the field service, it just caused so much anxiety in me. I was always treated differently by those in the congregation because of these stupid things. I still get sick thinking about the things I would put myself through just to strive to be treated as if I was really there and part of the congregation, instead of an outsider. This has hurt many people. Thanks for all that the both of you do.

That is so true! JT everything you said is the truth. I stopped going to the KH after watching the ARC trial. Somebody posted it in Facebook in “Somebody Want you to see” column. After many calls inquiring why I was not going to the meetings and knowing that I was not sick, they started following me. I was 71 years old, and I’ve been a widow for 35 years, never remarried. Where I used to lives it was a “dead end”street, so I was getting out or entering my apartment and up the street was the elder car parked! So ridiculous! I laughed every time I saw that! I couldn’t wait to long and sent my DS letter.

It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself - anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offence. - George Orwell

After having served as what was known as a 'prominent elder' during the 90's I underwent a politically motivated removal and subsequent disfelloshiping. I remained in that state for over seven years until I acquiesced to my mother's plea that write to a brother with major 'juice' in the service department 🏬. He had married a special pioneer from our congregation. Within a couple or three months a telephone call came through to me and reinstatement hearing was scheduled and about three months later the reinstatement was granted. There is much more to this story that if told would bring undue scrutiny to other innocent persons. The reason for those six months reinstatements is the brothers were following scriptural guidelines as set out in the two letters to the Corinthians. That all ended with the Bethel purges of the early 80's. A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS!
