With the effort you put into these adventures, Nathan, I hope the underwhelming bikes don't ruin it for you all. Live and learn I guess. Happy travels y'all.
Don’t think the R18s are selling well. Good Point a bike without a purpose. Even so if I was looking for a new anchor for my boat it would definitely be a contender
@@nathanthepostman Around town here in Iowa also some day trips. Getting it set up for a bit of touring also, with a taller windscreen and lower winglets. I’m used to mid-controls so it does not bother me having my feet below me. The R18 is a piece of Art and Just a fun powerful cruiser with tons of tech! Not to mentioned I picked my R18B for $10,499 2023 with only 200 miles!!!! Harley Dealer took on a trade and just wanted to off it quick!!! A comparable Harley would be more than double! Safe riding!
Have they repaired the broken window in one if the rooms. Checked in and thought the room was draughty opened the curtains and saw the glass was missing. Great memories. Looks like your all having a great time.
It's interesting hearing everyone's opinion of the R18 . I have 3 bikes and I just love the R18 and its probably the worst handling of the 3 ! I love looking at it as much as I love riding it and I love the fact that you don't see them on the road . I hope you all get to like them for what they are by the end of the trip .
I’m with you Stuart, I love mine too. It’s not the most practical bike, of course not, does it need a purpose? No. I think that’s a pretty stupid comment tbh. At least this short video will give the haters some fresh meat to chew on……
"Well, it looks nice". This is turning in to the absolute antithesis of the usual youtube review where the reviewer's are desperate to say nice things about it lest they get cut off by the dealer / importer. Brilliant. Not convinced you'll be on BMW's Christmas card list after this though... ;)
To me at least those bikes look ugly. Not really good at anything either so what's the point really. Surprised BMW got it so wrong. Best of luck with the rest of the tour, hope the weather behaves itself.
Geez those blokes sound like right miserable old so and so’s, retired I presume? Why did they choose those bikes if they have such a downer on them, I presume they must have at least tried them before committing to a two week extended tour? Choose something else there’s plenty of choice nowadays.
Haha. We can all be miserable sometimes. Fact is you choose the bikes months in advance. I got a great deal on the R18s so we gave them a punt. They didn't ruin the trip by any means. They were a great talking point for us as a group and unfortunately they didn't prove to be great machines but still did the job. We were probably being a bit curmudgeonly
