In Belgium last year, we wanted to visit the Holocaust museum in Mechelen. Outside the main building is one of the railway carriages used to deport Jews and Roma to the death camps. I'm not ashamed to say that I had an immediate emotional reaction, and had to walk away in tears. Sadly, the people who really should visit these places probably never will.
Those people are a lost cause. They CHOOSE not to believe because they are cowards...afraid to recognize the reality because then they might have to do something. Cowardice is the biggest problem in society today.
like you Craig i gave a deep interest in WW2 history , more the air war part , also in the late 80s i worked for a Kosher Butcher and drove one of their van sales guys around who was a Concentration Camp Survivor if memory serves he was at Treblinka and Dachau ,witnessed his dad being shot in the town square in Poland , he never said much about it a little bit here and there usually a memorable date , ge gad a amazing drive to keep working even though he was over 70 and couldnt get commercial insurance so i did the driving .there was also a lovely old guy there too who still had the numbers tattooed on him always had a smile and time for anyone even after living through the most horrendous experiences and seen the worst of human behaviour ,

well known from first hand, my aunt died last december as 95 years old Auschwitz survivor and her sister still lives, went 93 this year survived Matthausen.

Thanks Craig for sharing this with us. Hitler was a total nut job and managed to murder 10's of millions of people in his quest for power and dominance. I would love to visit these places as are you, not to remember Hitler, but all those people he killed. Please keep these videos coming. What an adventure you and Gertie are having. you need google translate on you phone, select language, select camera, hold over the information and it magically changes to English. I just discovered this app while in Spain, funnily while also trying to work out how to use a washing machine. Great app, great for working out menu's etc.
