Here's an updated video to my gale tier list I've been wanting to make for a while now. my original tier list was my first serious video on this channel, and let's just say the quality wasn't great.. (super awkward intro + edited on iMovie 🔥🔥😭.

I know I already bugged you about wind gun but it feels like you're only talking about the base version and ignoring the potential of the blast spark version, which doesn't even knock them back that far, dazes pretty consistently and has basically zero end lag so you can combo it with other mantras(air force) to do free damage. Granted this is mostly my experience from overworld and probably wouldn't work that well in chime but I still see the value.

my boy did gale trap dirty.. 😭 free 5 sec of suffocate, free wind gem, free block pressure, good pressure from a distance. not to mention how its cd is like 10 seconds 😭

suffocate actually lasts 9 seconds for me, maybe it's because I have gale coil.

rising wind should be s tier because it's basically true after m1 and it lets you combo people, also gale trap should also be way higher becasue sometimes even if you parry the first hit the gale trap still attaches and it suffocates for like 7 seconds, cd is like 15 seconds you put blessed and you basically get infinite suffocate

chime gale punch is okay. BUT in ganks it is basically an arc wave with good bloodless healing and good aoe with modifers

Rising wind is S tier because no other gale mantra allows for the 1 bar combos that it can setup

I highly agree with most takes but I still find wind carve to be at the very least top C tier or lowest B tier, I was gonna say something about wind passage, but on second thought that's pointless

Ngl I'd rank gale trap higher because with the right talents you're basically applying constant pressure onto your opponent It applies suffocated, and if they jump they're dazed which is especially good given that the meta basically is just dazing rn. So they can't jump, can't use mantras, slowed and they periodically take damage

i like it cuz of the specter too, for some reason it gives nearly 30% of your specter bar just from landing it. New specter tech or does every mantra do that?

with this recent update do you think wind forge is worth taking now? i feel like it's a good pressure tool but the fact that you cant do anything for a few seconds after casting it holds it back

got it, i was honestly gonna trade in exhaustion strike for it because i heard that it would get nerfed in a manner that it'd no longer expend all your posture and instead would get rid of posture depending on its level. appreciate the response

As for these mantras what would accomplish the most posture damage outside of champions whirlthrow? I sometimes have trouble breaking blocks with gale tbh

People tend to have a habit of blocking wind forge because they arent used to seeing it in combat. You can take advantage of that by slide casting champ throw or any guard break mantra

it's up to pref but imo strong left would prob be more meta. Gale has a lot of moves like gale lunge or heavenly that let you stick to your opponent, so you can survive without a ranged move

i saw a screenshot of Dex saying they're making rising wind ventable and slightly reducing the hitbox of wind lunge tomorrow how do you feel about that

i saw that too, always locked in on latest gale news xD. but how i feel about that: rising wind change is kinda annoying but whatever it won't change much about the meta. gale lunge hitbox nerf is most likely not going to change that much, people don't understand what the actual problem they're talking about is.

@@SpidersDW sounds about right to me, i think the loss in damage is worth costing the opponent tempo, though most people vented it anyway (why do actions not get disabled while something is preventing them from doing anything) i think the best part of the patch is using the wrong name for gale lunge

Didn’t they already try to make it ventable and then reverted the change? I feel like it doesn’t make sense for them to try to make it ventable again. Already it really doesn’t deserve a nerf 😭

@@SpidersDW so now that we know they also made seven more changes, how do things on the tierlist shake up, is it gojover (nerfed reverse gale kick daze duration and astral wind damage scaling slightly; buffed tornado kick projectile hitbox, astral wind posture damage, galetrap damage, and gale wisp duration ._.; added damage scaling to wind forge on upgrade lmao)

wind forge has some small issues that hold it back like for example making you stand still during the windup of it even though its supposed to be used for chasing. the windup and the ether cost is unnecessarily big.

im ngl i run wind forge with gale hero blade and i use it for a free posture break since people tend to block it i put wayward on it and use my crit asoon as im close to them while using wind forge

we’ll have to see. judgement is still pretty good even tho you can vent it but rising wind is also a combo extender so hard to see just how impactful that’ll be if it does happen
