Valkyria Chronicles 4 - Ch. 16: Forseti's Judgment - The Breakthrough (A Rank Ace Killed 2 Turns) 

For those who don't have the Gautt R for this battle, what weapon would you recommend for Kai? Edit: Found an alternative (for those like myself who don't have an Anti-Tank Sniper Rifle). You'll need a Grenadier with the Elias Mortar for this to work, but you won't have them positioned yet at the start of the mission. Follow the authors steps up until Turn 2 two where he starts maneuvering the Hafen. When you get close to the capture point, fire a mortar shell behind the Lancer and Shocktrooper sitting behind the sandbags. Follow that up by moving the Hafen to the leader scout on the next move as shown in the video. Once it comes time for Dan to move Kai and Riley to the capture point, just leave Kai and take Riley. When you're on the move where you're at the capture point with Dan, take out the Shocktrooper, but make sure Dan isn't sitting directly on top of the flag (as shown in the video). Have it off to the right edge of the map. When you summon Riley, have her capture the point, take out the Grenadier, and head up the ladder. In her next move, take out the Bunker, move back to where the Ice Trees are, then end her move. Call Rader (like in the Video), and take out the Ace with Riley. At the point where you would Deploy Kai, you'll instead use Rapid Deployment on the captured base (You should have four turns before using it), and summon a Grenadier (with the Elias mortar) to go up the ladder and near where the Tank is that's blocking Raz' path. In that same move, take out the Tank by hitting it's radiator, end the move and finish with Raz as shown in the video.

Really fell in love with Raz's character throughout the campaign, this mission solidified that. Especially his relationship with Leena althroughout.

Damn it, now I need to see everyones unique dialogue for going with Raz.

Love your guides, and all the details in the descriptions to make sure everything is setup correctly. I finished this game back in 2018/19 but doing a fresh play through now. I can confirm what another user stated below that: Using Riley to destroy the first bunker, on Turn 2, for some reason completely soft locks my game. ALT-F4 and reload a save. I've tried moving her closer, further away, peaking, all sorts but every single time, this locks my game. Done maybe 12 tries now, will give it another go or two but man, it's taken the wind out of my sails. Had a quick Google search but couldn't find any real work around.

Really admire your elegant approach, makes mine seem quick and dirty as heck!

Btw if you target the bunker without sights on it with Riley she will get soft locked into a state where you need to exit the game and restart at your last save

Do you lose any equipment on your guys in the strike team? Dunno if I’m willing to sac the boots

I'll definitely be using your video as a guide! I originally used Precocious Turtle's video but the damn guide neglected to mention that you need an extra turn out of Riley in order to kill the ace and put Zaiga and his companion in a close enough spot for turn 2

the character you take with raz. are they gone forever? please let me know as im having a mental breakdown on who to take.

How come your Raz always move quite a bit further than mine? I even had him equip +30 AP but he can never reach the same place as your Raz, and I absolutely need 3 turns to finish.

What's Gunner's gloves?

Is there a specific reason why you chose Curtis to be No. 2?

How come Riley instantly locks onto Gamit Zanatos? Even after I use the Radar I can't find him in the aim screen.
