It was more about enforcing team rules. Under Riley they had a rule you didn’t hang out with the opposing team before and after games. Ewing for ex wasn’t even allowed to hang out with Zo or Mutombo. But when Don Nelson took over it went away and JVG being from Riley coaching tree put the rule back in. It’s not a good look with your teammates that have to guard MJ if Ewing or Oak are out partying with MJ until 24 in the morning. JVG just made the mistake about talking about MJ to the press.

SO many young people don't understand how different MJ really was compared to who they think is the GOAT. MJ dropped 50 with all midranges, free throws, and driving to the rim with insane layup packages and most teams barely scored 100 in a tough defensive era. Now you see two sometimes 3 players drop 30 after hitting 5-7 threes just flinging them up while the final scores are above 120 or more. Now the top ten scores are above 28 points a game. with 7 people averaging 30 a game. It's just soo different! George Karl suffered the same outcome as Van Gundy in 1997 when he told reporters MJ was getting older and starting to settle for jump shots. MJ politely dropped 45pts on the Sonic full of jump shots. This should be video #24, Nick 😊

As a coach, those comments diminishes his players! He's admitting his player's minds were weaker and he was the dominant snake, maaaan those are 2 grown ass man with equal advantage to the same thing, the dominant player dominated the games, simple. Jeff flat out was butt hurt and humiliated him in public. Them Knicks player could've done the same and didn't? Jeffy never played ball.

For all of us privileged that saw him played in his era, we just re-enjoy and re-affirm he is the GOAT. There are endless awesome stories about MJ, and just watching him play in this game against the Knicks reminds you why he's the best ever.

Jordan had genuine friendships with lot’s of players in the NBA during his time. His over all demeanor off the court was humble, kind and a joyful spirit. I remember seeing him play away games and the other fans loved him. He really was likable to everyone, because he knew how to be a friend. These punks now-a-days that people claim to be a GOAT are arrogant.

As fans, maybe I'm alone here, is there a way we can make the league allow hand checking again? I really miss the old defense, today's game seems so weak. I want to watch men play a man's game, what they're doing today is just weak. Not the players fault it's the league doing it for a few extra baskets a game and it sucks.
@GojoRamsay888
@GojoRamsay888 Год назад
Same here bro, most of players today got injured on their own lots of them are non-contact injuries, most of players today doesn't lift weights anymore. Floppers wont flop if hand checking were brought back.

a large part of the reason why Jordan is the goat is that he has that mystique and lore about him, so many MJ moments that players attest to. I don't see how they wanna sy Lebron is better and he simply doesn't have that mystique or lore, where are the legendary lebron stories, Kobe got those stories and my boy Iverson too,, but I've never heard any classic lebron stories. I think he's a very good player, pippen 2.0 with scoring , certainly fraternize more than jordan, as friendly superteam camaraderie building dude, but not legendary goat status, in a sense both Space Jam movies highlight who they are and how they play, Lebrons sonning the league and constructing his team of bros and Jordan take his misfits, get tehm believing and go conquer the monstars
