Sarah Doucet it’s definitely worth checking out but check ou her earlier videos. She’s always been on the athletic side. She started Keto for mental benefits rather than weight loss. Just FYI. No hate !!
Diabetic Amber here’s a really good “Keto” drink l ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EZxqrs6ZwOU.html I love it! (heaps of energy!) . I’ve been doing Keto to reduce inflammation and find it helped a lot. Cheers 🍻
Except the forms of iron/calcium differ and us, as humans, don't have the digestive systems to properly absorb them. Just because you put it in your mouth doesn't mean you end up absorbing it!!!
My bag of chia seeds have 2g of carbs even after I subtract the dietary fiber. I’ve seen some brands like yours that make it 0 carbs after subtracting the fiber. I don’t know if I’m being naive but shouldn’t the nutritional info on something natural like chia seeds all be the same? I’m so confused. I don’t want to consume more carbs than I should, not sure which brand to trust. Do you have any info on that?
I think you shouldn't be worried about the carbs in chia seeds...usually you're eating about 1-2 spoons of chia in a pudding fe. That would be maybe about 0,5-1g of carbs in a meal. That won't influence your ketosis at all
@@samevans1289 it stands for advance glycation end products. AGEs are harmful to the body for a number of reasons. High AGE foods include anything roasted or fried.
I have some information to share and I highly recommend that anyone look it up! I have heard many times over the last two years since going vegan that flax and chia seeds have omega 3's but our body struggles to create ALA and DHA from them unlike omega 3's from fish. But I heard just a few months a go that Chia seeds when ground can be made into ALA and DHA more effectively by the body and when ground has the same result of fish oil omega 3's, so Chia seeds should always be ground like flax seeds! I have actually heard this as an argument to not go vegan, so learning this about flax seeds was very exciting! I always felt like I should have been grinding them anyways and now I know why!
Bentley Wisdom This is good to know. I have always grounded my chia seeds just because mentally it seemed to “work better” for me lol. Now I’m happy I had the mental need to ground them since they are increasingly beneficial. Happy New Year!
Hey Ruth! Just wanted to say thank you for putting out such great content on keto diet! You inspired me so much to start a low carb diet and it’s changed my life. Just thought u should know ❤️🤗
The almond milk you're using needs a good shake as it doesn't have any thickeners in it, but omg it is the ONLY damn one that doesn't add a bunch of numbers (thickeners) or carageenan (great for giving your gut some problems) which is so frustrating. I tried a new almond milk the other day which tasted great but had a specific additive (3 digit number) and when I looked it up it said pregnant women shouldn't consume it! And yet the actual product doesn't need to disclose this!!! I was furious.
Ruth, I could be wrong but it does't really seem like you are meeting a basic caloric intake. Granted women can consume around 1800 calories a day and be fine, however I'm not even really sure your meeting that. On top of how many calories you burn from working out, how many net calories are you getting a day?
It's prolly all the healthy fats she's consuming lol. Protein, essential amino acids and certain vitamins like A, K and E will defs do wonders for ur skin, nails, hair, heart and eyes.
Instead of adding almond milk and nut butter to the chia pudding, you can just blend macadamia nuts with water and some Himalayas salt, make sort of milk like liquid ( don't strain it) and use that for soaking chia for pudding.
I love your videos so much! It puts a smile on my face every time you upload. I used to be vegan (so i can appreciate this video and how difficult that lifestyle can be) but now I'm eating meat again and started keto about two months ago, thanks to your videos! Love how long this video was, keep up the great work xx
Hi! 👋🏼 Could you start to add total macros in the notes below the video? Or post the breakdown? Thanks! Love the content! It’s hard to find vegan keto vids so keep it up! 🙏🏼❤️
I hate chia seeds. I can’t chew them. I put them in a smoothie a while ago and I felt like I was drinking seeds. Can I grind them like you just did with the flax seeds? Will they grind?
Me Me They suck liquids in if you leave them overnight so it's a bit of a different texture to consuming them straight away. I've even made 'jam/jelly' or conserve with strawberries mashed up, add in the chia seeds and leave in the fridge for up to a week. It's like a healthier keto/low carb jam :)
Hope you’re doing great! Wrapping up your masters just now possibly! We so hope you’ll have a bit of time once you get settled to come back to us on RU-vid ☺️💕
I am so impressed by your duscipline.... I am also a registered nurse and the hospital is no easy job but the way you just do life is amazing.... I have always believed I have had depression but I think I should try changing my diet and seeing if it improves. Godbless.... this is the first video I have ever seen and I'm subscribing! Keep them going 😁 please.
I’m an RN in upstate New York. I loved hearing the passion you felt helping that pt that had the brain injury. I love health and fitness too but need to seriously get my diet on track. I always feel sick and know would enjoy life so much more if I embraced a healthier diet. Thanks for the videos!
Thanks so much gorgeous! I made the chia/flax pudding last night and im having it now with a bit of coyo and a strawberry yum!! I also added a little chinese five spice and nutmeg to it for some extra flavour :) thanks so much for helping me get back on track 👌🏼🙌 hope youre having a beautiful day and cant wait for more awesome vids from you!!
Fantastic video as always! Love the salad and the chia pudding - definitely going to try both of these this week! Will tag & post on insta so you can see :)
i have a question: if this lifestyle provides enough energy for you why do you need to drink so much coffee? it seems like your days revolve around coffee. i would like to see a week in the life where you don't drink coffee to see how you truly do on the lifestyle without stimulants.
That same sentiment could be said for most of the developed world. The among of tea and coffee people drink is astonishing. Lack of sleep mostly I'd imagine.
Thank you for continuing to post videos about the Keto Vegan lifestyle even after getting hate in the comments. Keto has helped me lose an immense amount of weight and changed my life but before Keto and during I have always been guilty about my animal product intake. I never thought Keto would be possible with a Vegan lifestyle but you do a great job at proving that it can be. Thank you!
Hi :) Two questions for you! I'm vegan and want to burn some FAT! 1. Based on your video with your friend about vegan keto - you mentioned that upping calories helped as she could add more carbs - This really surprised me. Are we looking for a PERCENTAGE of carbs (i.e the more we eat the more we can have - I don't think this is right but your comment in the description of part 2 implied that) or total grams net? Also, have you found in your experience that alcohol (e.g vodka soda) impacts ketosis and if so, how much and is it worth drinking? (I love to drink :)) Thanks! EDIT: my current macros/goals etc is loose 10 kg appx, currently 73ish want to get to 63 (but am also doing resistance so muscle may throw that off) atm about 31 percent body fat. aiming at 1700 cals a day OR 2 days alternate day fasting for insulin rsistance :)
I just found your channel, I'm so sad to see that you no longer post videos....hoping you'll get back into it! Love the content I've been plant based for only 4 months, but looking to shed more weight by switching to keto, I know the two pair well together, really been enjoying watching these.
Hey.. I’ve just just watching your channel. Are you purely plant based now? I noticed in some others you ate lots of cheese... salmon etc. Also I’d love to know what your macros are for the day.. KJs etc. x Thanks. I’m loving these by the way. X
Hi Ruth! This is a pretty stupid question but I was just really curious. Are you employed as a Registered nurse while you’re rehabilitating the patient who had a motorcycle accident? Or is it more of a volunteer type of position? (Hope that makes sense). I was also wondering what your Masters Degree is called? I’m about to graduate my Rn’s but I’m looking into becoming a nutritionist in the future but I’m unsure how to transition into that area! Thank you ❤️❤️
I love your videos :-) I'm doing keto. Mostly vegan keto but I did try your amazing salmon recipe and the portabella burgers! I'm also not trying to lose weight. But this has been more of an experiment for me :-)
Love this video! Especially since never really understood flax seeds and how to use them but I'll have to give it a try in the chia pudding. I think you did a vlog at the grocery store in Italy or someplace and was wondering if you might be able to do another grocery haul Vlog again.
