My opinion about what I eat in a day/week videos: for me, it definitely depends on the person. If they're chill about their eating and I generally like the person (you fall into this category ahaha) it's good for meal ideas and just fun in general to watch. However, if the person is super restrictive/talks about food in a bad way, etc, they can be super triggering. I've definitely had to click out of some videos because I could tell the person was not eating enough and it was triggering for me. I think in general people are always going to compare themselves to you and what you eat so it's always important to be mindful of the language you use, etc. Your approach to food is great and I like watching your videos bc I feel like you're just my friend and we're eating together ahah
Yess! Sometimes I watch them when I'm having lunch/dinner alone and it feels like a friend eating with me (that sounded less weird in my head though hahah)
honestly most "what i eat in a day" videos are having a bad influence on me but yours just make me happy and inspire me to eat whatever and whenever i want to
I personally love your what I eat in a day vids. I’ve struggled with EDs for a long time and am still trying to work on my relationship with food. It’s really helpful seeing someone eat without restricting themselves and you’re a huge inspiration to me. Also, a lot of the times I eat while watching your videos because it helps me feel more comfortable eating around other people (don’t know if that really makes sense), which I’m trying to work on. I really appreciate how seriously you take the responsibility of being on this platform, it’s why you are one of my favourite creators.
for someone who is struggling and trying to recover from ED, I personally find your content very inspiring and motivating for me to try and love myself and go on the road to recovery. I love it and it helps massively as it is actually informative and I learn so much without you intentionally teaching etc., if that makes sense
I know it's so easy to overthink everything but honestly, love these "what I eat in a day" videos - I actually love watching it for the food inspo and find it so interesting to see what other people eat. It would be so sad if you stopped doing them 😞 I think its more down to the viewer to decide if they're in the correct headspace to watch it ❤
I totally agree with what you are saying about “what I eat in a day” videos. It’s very difficult and it’s one of the reasons I’ve never made one. I think they can be really helpful to most, but very harmful to a few. So to me it’s not worth it, but I myself still love watching them 🤍 and yours are great 🤗
I think when I was in a bad place regarding food I used ‘what I eat in a day’ in a negative way but now I am in recovery I use them to help me because it’s like we’re eating together ☺️ I feel like how others use your videos isn’t your responsibility as long as you’re happy and comfortable with your content and feel you’re sending good vibes (which you always do). But I understand the overthinking. I love your content and attitude towards food and hope you keep doing food content ♥️♥️
I like to watch these for food inspirations. If you’re worried about portraying a certain way of eating, you could choose 3-4 days of eating and put them together to show variety ☺️ Stay safe and take care Helena!
i really love these and have found them helpful in relearning intuetive eating!! the way you present your food and show how you construct your meals has been good for me to see, i'd love more of these!!
i completely understand your worries! i personally love your wieiad videos bc you have such a positive relationship with food - you always keep it uplifting and happy, you never talk negatively about the food you are eating (unless it tastes bad). i have anorexia so at times i do watch these sort of vids to trigger myself but i most definitely do not when it comes to your content - you actually encourage me to want to eat normally and make me feel less alone ❤️ thank you so much for asking!
What I eat in a day videos: You make so much sense! I think it depends on the person watching the video and their own relationship to food. I used to not have the best relationship to food and would like you say compare myself to the videos. But now, my relationship to food is soooo much better and I genuinely like watching what I eat in a day's because they are just fun to watch and interesting to see what foods people like to eat. Not enough people realise that everyone eats different and we shouldn't compare ourselves to anyone but instead should listen to our own bodies not other peoples bodies. You do you!! Love your videos, thanks for bringing this to light, hopefully it opens the eyes of those who think negatively and can help them create more positive thoughts and vibes!
I dont know how to say this but i think you are such an amazing person.... the type of person people write books about and paint pictures of , dont be afraid of taking breaks and looking after yourself or not replying to comments etc. You have built this family and we would rather you look after yourself than look after us ! Enjoy the sunshine x
I personally find your 'what I eat in a day's' really helpful. I get really triggered by all the other ones but there's just something about yours that gives me incredibly good vibes
I watch what I eat in a days from specific creators for enjoyment and entertainment. I enjoy watching mukbangs and what people eat in a day bc I find it visually pleasing how some people plate their food and I also get meal ideas too! I also have to adhere to a certain diet for my health conditions so I like to watch people eat what I can’t and live vicariously through them 🤣 I do, however, actively avoid creators that are triggering for me (diets that I find too restrictive). I can’t speak for others, but I always enjoy your full day of eating content bc I find it very chill, relaxing, and satisfying! 💖
I think what I eat in a day videos are super helpful for recipe ideas and just generally fun to watch! I know they are toxic for some people but I think that's more when people share super low calories meals and/or talk about foods as being "bad" or "high calories" or feeling "guilty" for eating certain things.
i love your approach to these videos!! such a good example of how relaxed and not strict you are about food but also still sensible, inspire such a good attitude with food! keep doing them like this ❤️❤️
So, personally I find this type of videos a bit triggering from certain people, but you are defenitly not one of them! You have actually helped me al lot with my relationship with food. I think you have the most pure and positive energy of all the youtubers I follow. I love u
i agree that what i eat in a day can usually be triggering and problematic but i find ur what i eat in days so fun and tbh after the video i don’t even remember what u ate, i just enjoyed hanging out with u
Personally I’ve watched WIEIAD vids in the past for comparison and to purposely trigger myself. Which I don’t do anymore (Thankyou recovery) I enjoy watching them now for entertainment or meal ideas. One type of vid I see more creators doing is “food I’ve been eating” (or something like that) and they show some of the meals they ate that week and let people know they are not showing them everything. It makes comparing harder but still serves as a fun food video!
I haven’t watched barely any RU-vid videos for almost a month and I can honestly say that watching and listening to you gives me the serotonin boost that I need!!! Love you so much and hope you have a great day luv!!!
For me your "what I eat in a day" videos are a good reminder to me to fill my body and stress about what I'm eating and just looking at a healthy portion size. Watching you eat sausages for lunch and dinner is so reassuring because that is perfectly okay.
Watching your what I eat in a day videos helps me to stay consistent in making good food choices. Especially episodes like this where it’s just what you’ve got in the fridge. It’s fun and lighthearted content that helps me to not overthink food.
As someone who has formerly struggled with an ED, I absolutely know where you're coming from with that potential for negativity/ comparison/ replacement through watching someone else do these types of videos. However, I think what makes me enjoy these videos of yours so much is that you a) actually demonstrate how recovery is possible, b) you give me sooooo many new ideas to try as far as vegan recipes, c) I like eating while you eat! It's like sitting down and chatting with someone, and d) you actually eat normal portions! I feel like the toxicity can oftentimes come from people displaying not super realistic meals (portion sizes being super small, only eating once or twice a day, flaunting being full for many hours after eating/drinking something small etc), and you really do a good job of not doing that. Obviously it depends on the person and their individual situation, but for me as someone who once was a bit more at-risk for using these types of things to perpetuate negative thinking patterns/ behaviors, your food- oriented videos specifically kind of got me out of that and showed me what a /normal/ day is like without that weird pressure to eat less or anything like that.
Hi Helena, all your videos are amazing! They never fail to put a smile on my face especially on days where I’m struggling. Others in the comments have said that it depends on the person for what I eat in a days which is so true and I agree 100%. If you enjoy making them however it shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks (in my opinion which is debatable). Maybe to put your mind at ease on the negatively influencing (and some viewers may find it helpful or really enjoyable) possibly film what I eat over a few days not just one day? Please remember it is your choice what you put on RU-vid and don’t force yourself to do anything you don’t want to do. Like I said all your videos are amazing and enjoyable. Please never change! X
what i eat in a days actually helped me to heal my relationship with food as it showed me that foods are okay to eat and i watch them a lot to remind my self to eat and specifically what a balance diet looks like. people like you, linda sun, hannah adkins, julia ayers etc have all helped me so much. the only times i think they effect me negatively is when people aren’t showing a balanced diet or intuitive way of eating. also when numbers/macros are involved it doesn’t help me at all. but i personally love what i eat in a days when done right, however i do prefer what i eat in a weeks
I like your videos because they have definetely helped me out a lot in the past, when I was struggling with my eating. Now it's just fun to watch and I'm so attached to your personality! ❤️
Helena! For me personally, a person who’s never knew what it’s like to eat normally your videos have extremely helped me as some kind of guide to what a normal eating habits should be like. So by watching your videos i slowly started having a rough idea about how i should eat and when and stuff like that. Because i had no point of reference before so i was so lost but your videos really were like a reassuring start to my journey in creating a healthy eating habits so thnxs so much love 💕 iii adore your videos keep going ♥️♥️♥️♥️
You never fail to amaze me gal, been watching the channel for over a year and youve blossomed into such an amazing beautiful soul. You should be so proud of yourself Hels!! Ps I LOVE YOU!!!
@@helenarosecope You are one youtuber that I thourghly enjoy sitting and watching as a way of coping with mental health. You have saved so many lives beaut, mine being one x
tbh your 'what I eat in a day' videos are the only ones I watch in the category, mainly bc of your personality. I only watch other videos in this category when I need recipe ideas, etc. my suggestion is to maybe try doing a daily vlog ft. what you eat, so we all get context as well! I'd personally love to see them! ♥
I think your videos have helped me with my acceptance of foods because you make them fun and tbh I think we need more vegan RU-vidrs who don't restrict and show what they really eat
I like what I eat in a days when its realistic for me. Obviously this is why it depend on the person watching it, but to me, you eat realistically, intuitively, and you eat what you want when you want it which brings a normalized perspective to the platform of youtube. Its definitely crazy how toxic media can be because viewers compare themselves to many influencers or youtubers that are filming a "day of eating" that could be the very least amount of food that they've eaten all week, and viewers dont know it. Thank you for providing great and realistic content. Personally, I just enjoy watching mukbangs, which is essentially a what I eat in a day.
for what i eat in a days/full days of eating i think it definitely depends. someone who is restrictive on their food or on a diet or even just talks negatively about food (ex: calling something unhealthy) can definitely be triggering (it usually just makes me sad for them because i wish they knew better lmao but sometimes i have to click out and distract myself). with your videos, however, i've never really felt that way. you're always very honest and positive around your food and you don't restrict yourself or deem food "good" or "bad." your videos actually help when it comes to feeling bad for eating when im hungry and it shows me that every body is different and needs different amounts of food and that changes each day. so overall i feel like it'd be okay for you to post them if you want to, but some others...maybe not lol i also think it's worth it to mention that some people do what i eat in a week videos and that can sort of help to show that every day is different and some days you're more hungry or less hungry, etc, and that may help with where you may feel like people would be like "oh she's not eating a lot" because it was just one day and they don't really know what else goes on, but i do understand that those videos can be a lot more to film and edit because they're not just one day so doing them isn't gonna be for everyone.
Hey Helena, I also watch Rebecca (vegan bodega cat) and I love her what I eat in a weeks because in my opinion a week shows more accurately what you do/would eat, but it also just gives meal ideas and makes me feel better about having days where I under eat and days where I might overeat and days where I don’t eat anything ‘nutritionally dense/healthy) or days where I eat the same left overs for 5 meals in a row. I also just enjoy watching both of you and just enjoy the normality and relatability of meals which aren’t necessarily mainstream ‘Pinterest’ like they’re more normal meals everyone actually eats. Idk hopefully this makes sense! I completely see what you mean with negative or positive comparisons though 💛
Your full days of eating videos helped pull me out of my eating disorder. Especially when at the end of them, you’d explain your moral message about not restricting food because our bodies need the sustenance. You have been through it, you know the mental tricks to help heal. So thank you for sharing them. Your encouragement is worth while to your audience.. or at least to me.
Right now I'm loving to watch "what I eat in a day" videos. Mostely for inspiration and food ideas. Some people might be harder to watch, when they put to much focus on WHAT, WHY and HOW MUCH they eat, meassuring everything out, over explaining their resons for eatsing specific foods etc. But your videos is more relaxed and just fun :)
Hi Helena! Your *What i eat in a day* actually helped me to eat enough because i struggle with Anorexia and i always think to eat less but when i watch your viedeos they motivate me to enjoy the food and the life Thanke you so so much to brite the positivity💜
Also when I was in the lowest point of my ED, your food challenges videos about eating only bread etc helped me massively-I would watch food videos and recipe videos compulsively, but I remember when I watched yours I just I dont know they were just fun, like about food but not about food. I just felt happy watching them because it made me happy to see you enjoy yourself, and it made me less food focused if only for a little while.
I watch your videos to entertain myself mostly and to get ideas for simple yet yummy recipes. I don't think you impact people negatively, you're so positive and wholesome in your videos, and even if there are people who subconsciously compare themselves to everyone, I find it really difficult for people to feel bad from watching your videos ^^
Personally from a person who suffered from anorexia most of the what I eat in a day are very triggering, but just because they eat way too less... But your videos are not like that especially when you talk about how important recovery etc is🙈 so i just wanna thank you soo much you helped me trough the hardest time! Still love watching your videos❤️ hope you are fine
when i was struggling with my eating disorder, i used to watch your videos to try and inspire my recovery. I’d see that you ate as much as you wanted/needed and you still had an amazing body which i thought was unachievable!! I started recovering during April 2020 and I would watch you religiously to try and remind myself that I’d be okay. Your content is pro-recovery entirely, please don’t worry about triggering people!! your vegan meal ideas are amazing too lmao. you’re a good person, please don’t overthink it x
I love FDOE, specially when it's like a lemme bring you along/walk you through my day and do stuff kinda vibe. Like more of a vloggy style FDOE, I find it not also more fun but less triggering in the sense that its not only food, its like spending the day with a friend plus grabbing some food
In my opinion this kind of videos are really entertainning and fun to watch! Also, for me they are a way of getting to know new ideas for cooking new meals and a source of inspiration🤍
I love your whst I eat in the days because its super realistic and its great to see how you eat vegan realistically, it gives me some inspiration to eat more vegan meals because other utubers eat so many expensive super foods it's so unrealistic so please post more what I eat in a days its very helpful to get some inspiration and it helps me a lot when I feel bad about eating something I just watch you and you're super inspiring! X
I think it depends on the person. You are very chill about your food and don't put lavels on them. I think yours are very lighthearted as well as fun. I really like them, especially because of your personality. But there are a few channels that I even without an ed I find triggering. But I just don't watch their videos. But anywaaayyy, great video and thank you for your content. It always makes me so happy☀️🌼
I know it's pretty different for everyone but to me these videos are really helpful because I see people eating enough. My family and most of my friends are eating 1-2 meals which is completly fine because I can see that it's good for them but it just triggers me a LOT! So actually seeing people eat 3 meals and snacks helped me so much! (Not saying that either way of eating is better than the other✌🏻)
Personally, I find it useful to watch your fdoe videos because I’m right at the start of ed recovery and it feels like I will never be able to eat freely, and seeing you come out the other side and have a healthy balanced relationship with food that some days includes more and some days includes less but is mainly just what you want to eat rather than ed driven is comforting that I will get there one day
What i eat in a day is one of my favourite videos on youtube, and yours especially! You always come with this amazing energy and ur so pure! 💖 so keep doing what you are doing, ypu are great! 💖If the viewer are sensitive to it, they can leave it to themselves whether they want to watch or not, as they can tell by the title what the video will contain:)
I like your what I eat in the day because it’s also like a follow along in my day! I find that your eat in the days are not toxic at all because you start conversations like these and don’t apply anything positive or negative to the foods you are or are not eating!
Personally I love what I eat in a day. Also I think weekly vlogs are a great way to show your food and how different it is and it wouldn't be the focus of vlog because people watch vlogs to see what people are. 💞
They are great! I enjoy watching them from you, I live in the U.S so a lot of things you have are not offered here but it is still fun to see! Plus your personality is amazing. Feels like I'm at a friend's or something. Keep thriving!
I love these kinds of vids and they give me meal ideas cause a lot of the time idk what to eat haha. But i do think that u should do what i eat in a week to show that some days u eat more then others, which might also help with ur anxiety :)
personally, I am past the point in my life when I would compare what I eat to others (cuz I know what works for me and I am happy with it), so I love what I eat in a days. they're fun, lighthearted, and also give great ideas of vegan meals I can adapt. loved ur vid btw xxxx
I love them because I'm genuinely interested in what you eat! but ALSO, PB & J on toast was something i was a little bit scared to eat but since watching you I think "if Helena can do it, so can i!"
I usually don't watch eating videos in general (like mukbangs, what I eat in a day/week etc) cause I literally just don't really care? but I watch yours cause they're just chill. I don't even think I watch your videos for the content (which is weird in itself lmao, I literally don't care about what you do imma watch it anyways), you're like the exception. You're just chill
honestly do the type of videos you want I really don't mind "what i eat in a day" i loooove to eat with you while watching theses like your my lunch or dinner date friend so i won't be eating alone 💜
TOTALLY agree that wieiad vids have the potential to be so triggering, but for me personally, your videos inspire me and give me something to work towards etc :) hope that helps
The only What I Eat videos I watch are yours and Grackle's - you both have an attitude to food that is important for me to witness having struggled with eating disorders my whole life (am now in my 30s). You don't make them aspirational, you just make them factual and that's great.
WIEIAD's for me is mainly just fun because I find you can show a lot of personality and it's entertaining... also great for meal ideas when I have no idea what I want!
I rlly enjoy what i eat in a days bc i love getting meal inspo from them but I also know that they can be triggering for some ppl. I personally really love them though so I say do whatever feels best for u queen😙
Hi about your 'what I eat in a day' chat.. I honestly don't watch them (and I think that counts for many people who have never suffered from an unhealthy relationship with food) to compare or feel better/worse about myself but to get new ideas and learn about nutrition (and probably improve my culinary skills haha).. I usually watch them late at night when thinking about what to eat for breakfast next morning.. ;) Hope this helped! :D
I love your "what I eat in a day" videos; I do actually get some ideas for meals (trying to go vegan, not there yet) and you remind me to have more snacks and desserts all in all, they're quite neat for some people
I personally love FDOEs!! They give people meal ideas/inspire them to try out different foods/just offer a deeper glimpse into someone else's life. I think whether they can be triggering or not is for the most part irrelevant (in my opinion ofc), because almost anything can be triggering.
I love your what I eat in a days, they helped me go vegan as you show real food and what everyday people eat, not just all the fancy vegan food that takes 5 hours to make & never looks the same! 💖
100% understand your concerns. maybe you could try what i eat in a week as that shows more variation/fluctuation between days. i think what i eat in a day/week can be positive - take Grackle, I find her videos really positive and lovely. As someone who struggles with disordered thoughts around eating I find it can be quite normalising (idk if that's a word??) seeing people's diets vary and change and positive mindsets around food.
Could you do a sort of cool with me video following a recipe? Like deliciously Ella or any recipe you like but I feel like the chaotic energy that the video would have would be- chefs kiss. Love you!
I think full days of eating are just a fun way to share recipe inspo that ranges from a sweet breakfast to a savoury lunch and dinner but also a snack or two are sometimes thrown in as well! I don't actually find myself comparing bc a) my body will process the volume at a different rate/way b) I can't remember the whole day to be able to compare every detail c) I don't trust that what everyone says is 100% the truth so only take the video with a pinch of salt and d) only some recipes really appeal to me that I wanna make myself so I focus on those xxx
ALSO not just recipe inspo but finding new supermarket foods eg those Aldi rosemary onions that are a cheaper version - I would never have known about them had it not been for you!! Xx
As someone who's still healing their relationship with food I think showing a relaxed and healthy relationship with food is more beneficial than it is harmful. If someone is triggered by it due to their own issues, as harsh as it seems, it's kind of on them, not you. As soon as you start trying to take responsibility for every single other person's emotions, boundaries get really blurry and you'll be drained/anxious. All you can really do is make positive and upbuilding content that you love/enjoy and how people react to that or whether or not they choose to watch it is their own responsibility, even if they're struggling with really hard issues like disordered eating. WIEIADs can be very toxic but I don't think yours are. I love you and your channel and hope that made any sense ❤
To be honest, I never compare what you eat to what I eat! I just love to see what other people eat and it also gives me ideas on what to cook. Yes, there is very toxic channels about food but I just don't follow these people or I just don't watch their food content.
I don't find yours toxic at all!! I have watched MANY what I eat in a days which are toxic, and those are the ones that are like describe nutritional content of food, only choose stupidly healthy things every time, or those who eat for a specific reason like weight loss or 'skin goals' etc. But yours are SO different to this!! I also suffer from an ED and have used what I eat in a days in a toxic way before, but don't find your videos triggering at all xx
I'm so late replying to this buttttt pls carry on with your what I eat/food challenges! I think that I sometimes find them triggering but yours have always been fun, entertaining and just fab! So it's nice to have that bcos I know I'm going to watch them anyway and at least if they're yours all is good if that makes any sense!
I only watch WIEIAD videos from people who talk about food positively like you. The ones that I do tend to just be for food ideas (even if that’s just hash browns 😁) because when I’m stressed I stop enjoying it and watching you enjoy food kinda hypes me up? I hope that makes sense x
As someone with an ED, I know I started watching them from a place of comparison/food porn but now I find it super helpful to watch someone like you who has a great relationship with food. I'd say this is maybe 1-5% of WIEIAD videos though so love them from you but not most other people! xx (But def would prefer only once a month)
I think fun day of eating videos (that aren't restrictive) are interesting. I particularly like watching vegan ones as it gives me new ideas on what to make (I'm not vegan but interested in the lifestyle)
