From what i read somewhere they recorded the albums in a way that would be not too different from their live performances. They basically used live equipment for their studio albums. Which is why they sounded so great live. Because the difference between album and live isn’t as big as for other bands.
Hells yah, its the best venom song ever.. As much as i love venom and they are the driving force behind black metal... i do have to admit. seeing them live is like watching spinal tap 2
No, metallica opened for them on the 7 Dates of Hell Tour. This was Venom's stage. This video is actually from 1984 Live at Hammersmith, the last stop of the 7 Dates tour.
i remember a tremendous gig in Milan, Italy on february 1984...Venom with Metallica as supporting act... 27 years have passed but it feels like yesterday :(
the sound... the sound... comes slowly, as it is never here, and then you here the voice... and the drums... slowly... and later the main riff comes with the simple but strong melody... hmm... the sound of this live performance is just perfect... i hear the wicked sound of seventies, but in darker way as with the Doors...
Realy ? you like this ? Iam surprised that you even remember them my friend ? Going to share this now to get the people active in the morning ? Heavy Man Thank you my Angel
O, yeah well then I indeed could have seen them. However I feel sorry I have missed them. I was way more into hardcore punk back then. Now I would really love to see this band playing. This song is just really amazing.
You are right about that! They definitely started Black Metal I believe they even coined the term "Black Metal". I read an interview in Kerrang in probably 1982 where they use the term.
Did you notice in the 2006 interview he looks ripped, but in the 2006 Sweden tour Conrad looks like age caught up with him within a few months? He's probably like, "Fuck I need my dumbells." Lol, LOVE VENOM! AAAAAAAARGH!
Damn this track was on one of my first metal cds ... which album was it? great shit! remember us young boys having the first beers feeling so damn dark and evil lol great times! venom definitely is for eternity - they were the first, the worst, the everything
I go wherever I sense n00bs saying that Venom aren't black metal. Nah, I just love the live version of this song, even more than the studio recording :O Dawn Of Megiddo (the studio version) has some lulzy comments too
