VENOM LET THERE BE CARNAGE Trailer 2 Reaction | I Hate Every Second of This 

I had to mute parts of the video since youtube put a copyright claim on it while I was sleeping. I know that can be annoying, but there's not much I can do about it. I thought I muted all the copyrighted stuff while I was editing, but apparently I missed something. Sorry.

The sonic scream lady is the ACTUAL powerful one in the movie. Venom is going to get his ass kicked repeatedly, she is going to show up, scream at Carnage, that will separate Cletus and the symbiote and then Venom will win. Because of her.

The symbiotes don't care about their offspring. In the comic, Venom shares a cell with Cassidy. When Venom is about to leave, it just "leaves behind" an offspring in the cell with Cassidy. I honestly thought the comic version was a little more goofy and inbelievable than what's in this trailer.

I liked Venom, although I can easily understand why people might not. If you detach it from whatever continuity though, the movie had the good sense to realize that it was inherently a pretty campy film, and chose to lean into it which worked well and made it better than it could have been. Don't get me wrong, again, I really understand why people wouldn't like it, but taken entirely on its own merits I think it was fun, if stupid.

Venom IS a monster... He has eaten people in the comics and he's rarely seen as a hero. Antihero sure, but almost always a villain or monster. Carnage is just waaaay worse. As for the human body, when the symbiot is out, it's almost like the human body dissolved. That's why Carnage can survive so much and change his limbs at will.

Oh and BTW The whole venom cannibal thing was never psychological warfare with Spider-Man Venom actually does eat people. Venom is nowhere near as crazy as Carnage But he has done some pretty sick crap as well.

Introducing Carnage in a movie without Spiderman will be introducing Harley Quinn in a movie without Batman all over again.

I think you might be underestimating how much "it's not being driven by identity politics" could help this movie. I know that was a plus for the first one (definitely for me personally and, I suspect, audience members at large, hence the movie getting a sequel at all), and I only expect it to help more today (unlike recent MCU installations).

What people keep forgetting is that Venom was a hit with China and the rest of the Asian market. They loved it so Sony responded.

Actually, Carnage and Cleetus eventually merged, symbiote can shift the host's biomass or some such and thus there isn't a body underneath the symbiote in the strict sense (I mean Carnage can regenerate from nearly anything these days, even when he's blasted to pieces), so that is technically comic-book accurate. Mind you it never made particular sense to me, but that aspect is passable. And symbiotes actually are cannibals; part of the reason why Carnage stories tend to gross me out is that everything that's disturbing about symbiotes is dialed up to 11 with him. Venom usually got a pass in that they avoided gory details, but yeah: it wasn't just what Venom/Eddie said. That said I never watched the first Venom movie and I have no intention of watching this one, despite being a huge Spiderman fan. The reason for it is simple: Venom doesn't really work without Spidey so either the character is VERY altered from his comic-book original (judging from the trailers that is the case) OR - given how he was in the comics - he's really not the type of character I want to see as the MC. Venom works great as Spiderman villain, but beyond that he doesn't really have much else.

They change the origin for carnage because eddie would have to be in prison with cletus as his cellmate to leave behind a piece of venom

I remember playing as Venom in the Ultimate Spider-Man game and practically eating everyone I ever came across.

A few things: 1.Thing is that, apparently, the symbiotes like consuming a particular chemical (can't remember its name) that's found in the human brain, but also in certain chocolates and mushrooms, but its not a requirement 2. Carnage and Cletus in recent yeara have apparently been "fused" so there not being a body is *somewhat* accurate Still, this trailer is painfull outside of the CGI

I personally love Venom as a Spider-Man villain, but he's so one-dimensional that he can't exist without the wall crawler. The movie was just a cluster f*** of CGI and bad storytelling, typical of Sony.

4:12 Venom was never a good guy, he's now a sort of anti-hero, but he was NEVER good. I never read comics including Carnage, I merely know him from the 90's SP cartoons, but wasn't Carnage always able to shapeshift as if there is no body inside? I remember Carnage able to change his whole body and fuse with Venom, or even squeeze through tiny spaces, he couldn't do that with a body inside.

Isn't Venom supposed to be pregnant at this time? That could explain the mood swings.

Woody and Tom are two amazing actors and would have been amazing as their titular characters if they just stuck to something resembling their real origins, had a good script and finally, a solid R rating. I'm still watching it. I feel ashamed. 🤣

Now, the one thing they DID get right is Carnage opening up his body as if he were just ooze. One of the things about the symbiotes is that they become more and more intertwined with the host over time until they are one and the same. How long that takes depends on how willing the host is to accept the symbiote. Carnage was always more powerful than Venom because Kassidy gave up his humanity and embraced the being of Carnage as the real them from the beginning. And when you are that insync with the symbiote there isn't anything "inside" of it. Spiderman Unlimited actually went into this, I believe.

I agree with some things, disagree with others like the “still doing the cannibal thing” that a huge part of both Venoms character and Cletus Cassidy. I love Woody Harrelson’s depiction of Cletus Cassidy. He’s the reason I’m gonna see. But I don’t like the forced comedy either or the comic inaccuracies. I know people don’t typically care about comics but if you’re going to adapt a story you should be faithful. One major point I have to argue is that Venom actually and symbioties are actually cannibals. There were rare exceptions like Toxin who chose not to. They technically feed off negative emotions but that doesn’t have to come from their host if they consume others brains. I also disagree with the critique of Venom being just the lesser of two evils, that’s kinda the appeal.

Venom had an offspring in the prison cell with eddy and kletus. The offspring binded with kletus through a cut in his hand. As the symbiote bonding with him through his blood, this is why his transformation and body are different.

I can't make much out of the trailer, but Thorias your facial expressions tell me all I need to know.

I think when venom grabbed Cletus he created the offspring carnage. Then when Cletus goes to be executed I bet that's when he first transforms.

Venom used to be my favourite comic-book character when I was a teenage, but this franchise are so painfully on-your-face cashgrab that I can't even bother with it, unless to despise on it.

As for the host inside, they are most likely dissolved away in the same way that the symbionts does inside the host. Otherwise when venom/ other symbiosis open their mouth the person would just be inside it. Also their height differences would suggest that it’s not just a outer layer

I actually enjoyed the first movie. Yea it was different and not the typical venom we usally get and the thing wouldve been greater as a rated R movie but it was fun. This one seems like itll be more of the same. Wacky premise that its going to go all in on venom vs carnage. Im perdicting were gonna get a spiderman cameo, either one of the past spiderman or a potential future one.

Disney has changed a number of characters from their original characterizations, so I’m fine with these films not being comics accurate. Hell, Peter Parker’s Spiderman was given Miles Morales’ origin in the MCU, so why whine about this now?

The only thing which will make me even watch this movie is seeing Carnage. Imo, this movie got Carnage right (design-wise). I wanna see this Carnage beat the living shit out of Eddy and Venom.

Just because it's not comic accurate, doesn't mean it's bad. So "they didn't get character right" is not a valid criticism. As for actual quality of the Venom movie, sure, it wasn't great, it was barely good, but I doubt it was suppose to be that. It was made to be a fun buddy cop take on a superhero genre and it's good at it.

Thorias' reaction is great. Honestly i enjoyed the first but only cause i dont really know much about him from the comics.

Funny thing is Venom is my favorite Spider-Man villain...emphasis on VILLIAN I honestly felt that making him some generic Anti-hero took a lot away from what made him scary and intimidating he's basically just superpowerred Punisher now with a cannibalism quirk the fact that recent comics have basically made him the weakest of all symbiotes since he's always surpassed by his offspring and offsprings offspring which there are a shit ton of now really turned the symbiotes from an interesting and frankly frightening concept into another cheap comic gimmick by the way your face at 2:00 was hilarious

Only watched Venom once so I was shocked to see a sequel. The first movie has clear evidence that Eddie Brock has a symbiote so naturally, I assumed he'd be contained or on the run afterward. No clue how he's walking around or even able to gain access to a prisoner.

I feel like I could enjoy this a little more if I knew more about Carnage.

Normally I agree with you, but here I think you're being too negative. The trailer was awesome and the first Venom film was pretty good. Eddie and Venom being a comedic duo worked really well for me and the others. But Spider-Man being missing is a let down.

When me n my brother were kids we were OBSESSED with the spiderman cartoon from the 90's. Venom was, without a doubt, are favorite character......SO WHY HAVE THE TURNED EDDIE BROCK/VENOM INTO DHARMA AND GREG!!

I actually like venom first movie and them being comedy duo worked for this movie and this also looks good not holding it against u sins we all have different tastes :)
