Learning how my vagus nerve functions after a nasty fall and surgery that lead to sedentary lifestyle and muscle depletion. This video really aids me in putting the puzzle together so i can get back to a normal life. Thank you very much for gifting your knowledge!
Thank you Dr. Emily. I came across your video trying to find a way to stop the heart palpitations I had been having for two months straight. No doctor could figure it out. Tried this 10 mins later the palpations stopped. I can never thank you enough.
OMG - I'm so glad I saw this. I definitely have high anxiety and my head leans forward. I didn't realize it all connected with the vagus nerve. Also have a chronic cough from damage to the vocal cord after a virus. Will definitely implement this into my deep breathing exercises. Thank you so much!
Excellent Info.. The Surge of info on the Vagus Nerve is amazing. The exercises are a good part of the treatment for the maladies of the Motherlode Nerve: The Vagus Nerve. My question and concern is : I have Cervical Instabilities (Stenosis, disc herniations, facet joint arthritis). I will trry these exercises with limitations and caution due to pretty severe stiffness in my neck. I would offer looking at the YT vids of Dr. Ross Hauser at Caring Medical about the affects of Cervical Instabilities on the Vagus Nerve . Amazing Stuff.
This video just made my pain go away on the spot! I have a pain in my jawline (teeth, jaw, face, ear on my left side) dentist saw nothing and I have been on meds for three day where although it helped, the pain just isn’t going away totally. The stretching you showed really helped sooo much! It made me look into the vagus nerve and it is so interesting and helpful ! Thank you very very much
Looks so simple and I admit I couldn't imagine how it could do anything. Well, I was wrong This is a powerful exercise and it can trigger lots of things at first. But I've kept it up and can sense the shift. I am very SNS domoninant.
I've done these exercises many times, but they're only effective while I'm doing them. After a couple of minutes, I bounce back into the sympathetic or dorsal vagus state.
You need to start doing them on a regular basis. After waking up and before going to bed. Also, during the day as much as possible. Do this for at least 3 weeks and see what happens. It helped me with the worst panic attacks ever, better than nezos. So it will help you as well
Congratulations! I'm Erwin, and when the weather changes, that's when my end comes..., in other words, I feel the sudden change in temperature, from cold to warm and vice versa, like fog, I can anticipate the weather forecast through intercostal neuralgic pains. I want to write to you that I had a respiratory virus when I was 20 years old, but as a small child I had "nerves in my stomach", as I explain in a simplified way that anyone can understand. I would like to ask you what you think happens when the weather changes, because only when the weather changes do I have these manifestations, mood changes, anxiety, palpitations, even from the wind blowing irregularly. Do you think it's about the autonomic nervous system, sympathetic/parasympathetic, only, or also the vagus nerve, and what exercises would you recommend?! Thank you very much. With respect and honest friendship, Erwin. 🤗
Thank you. Swollen hangy ball in the back of the throat. (Uvula maybe?...) I am going to try what you said. I have horrible back and pelvic problems along with spine. I am a laborer for a tree service. So we are constantly carrying heavy weights on our shoulders (logs. And I always put the heavy logs on my right side, My right shoulder specifically.) and dragging and pulling heavy tree limbs. I will try to comment in the section after I try your stretches. Thank you!
Had a cervical fusion in 2008 noticed my digestive issues and bi polar worsened not a single MD I spoke with gives this any credit I also sleep long hours which can be a symptom
How often should I reset my Vagus nerve? Once a week? Once a day? Or maybe more? Once reset, do I have to give it a few days to heal? Does anyone know? I would love to hear from you!
Have you ever heard of a man named Jerry Tennant? And his theory about our muscles being battery packs. And when people have a lot of problems, a lot of times it’s not generally their bones or discs out of place, Or discs in the back being out of line, it is it’s set a muscle groups that is not fully recharged. And this goes into nerve, and stomach interaction. Also, I have no medical experience, but I have suffered from all kinds of stuff for years and I think a lot of traditional ways have no idea how the body works. #ElectricUniverseTheory #TheThunderboltsProject
Hi Dr Emily. I'm using this exercise to help with anxiety. When I move my eyes to the far left and far right, and hold it there, I I'm literally filled with absolute panic and terror and fear. I hold it for only 10 seconds or so as I feel like I could totally get hysterical. What's going on here? Do you have any idea?
Maybe try to hold your eyes a little bit less to a side, at a point that is not quite as far. I noticed I’d get bad anxiety also until I eased the strain on my eyes back a bit and just breathed. Also, look into having your aura cleared. Negative energies that we can take on when we’re depressed or anxious (or stresses, angry, etc) a lot want to hold us there in that kind of vibration. Peter Steedman and Andrew Porter in the UK have done great remote energy healings to help me and family and friends I get a session every few months, even as a tune up (very cheap for what you get, like between $40-55).
When you say “reset”, what does that mean? Is that more activation of the vagus nerve or inhibition? Also, when the eyes go to the right, does that work in the right vagus nerve? Or both? Or the opposite side?
Thanks so much for this. I have had a neck twist while doing some acrobatic movements 10 years ago. I couldn’t move my neck on the left side. 2 years ago I found out i had a lymph node under my left side jaw. I have lots of white thick saliva esp in the morning. Do you think my neck twist had something to do with the lymph node and should you recommend some exercises?
Thank you Dr. Emily. I tried this with my client actually at the end our movement session and she felt very sleepy. She is a ballerina and we are actually wondering if this reset can be done after evening performances to help with the “adrenaline high” after the show. Would this help someone sleep better?
Hi there I have had three catheter ablation to fix atrial fibrillation! I feel my vagus nerve has been damaged as I have numerous symptoms relating to vagus damage from lots of sources ! Will this help me? Thank you Steve
The burp signifies a release of un-needed stored energy being released in your thoracic body area thus relaxing the muscles that were holding it and making it impossible for that energy to become a muscle knot. Other actions often produce a gurgle in the intestines signifying lower body release often large enough to actually pass gas. SO, let-er-rip at either end knowing it is confirmation of doing your techniques properly and avoiding knotted muscles!
Hi, What is your website please? Can I email you about my health issue please & I'm interested in possible treatments if you think this is suitable for me-thanks, K.Law
Is it possible to do the first exercise in a different position? I'm pregnant, and have tried lying down twice until I felt too uncomfortable, but still no yawn or swallow. Although, is the warmth in my chest a good sign?
While doing the exercise, I found my eyes strained terribly and I felt nauseous. I tried this 3 days in a row and got a nasty migraine. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
I have heart palpations about ten years know, been under parasympathetic issue for the same number of years as i had 3 faints in the same amount of years!i was always under excersise but nothing seemed to help!I ve been almost two weeks to wim hof method in breathing and ice baths!i am feeling great in terms of energy and clarity but i still have the heart palpations!does anyone know if these sympoms are connexted to vagus nerve?i aint doctor but at the same time all these symtoms i see among people on the comment section are similar to mine!i want to try these excersises, its been the most difficult ten years of my life!thank you doctor
even i have heart palpitations and anxiety issues i cant get sleep for the least three months and because of the stress and anxiety it has causes my high bp what do i do to get a good sleep i am also suffering from a poor digestion because of this problem......any solutions.....?????
@@rajlovinglife am no doctor mate but I always search for solutions. What seems to help a lot is the wim hof. Method, breathing technique and cold baths.if you add a balanced nutrition to that method and be committed to the whole philosophy then I believe you will see a big difference. Don't wait for a pill or meds to get better, just change your way of life
Magnesium and vit. K is needed for your hart. If there is a lack of one you can get palpitations. I got palpitations by using probiotics!! Even this week i used kefir...and got palpitations again! I read on internet that probiotics, spinach, tomaten, franchise cheeses it can occur
Hi..i did the first exercise and it took like 10 mins..by the time it happened i looked forward and felt very nauseous and a little lightheaded....is that normal???
Does this heal the Vegus nerve? I have been getting heart palpitations and had an ECG and heart tests that came back normal and i read somewhere that i may have a problem with my vegus nerve, i came across your video and wondered if those exercises can heal the nerve?
@@fractalofgod6324 Yeah i be having heart palpations also and went to a cardiologist he told me it was my potassium and magnesium levels so thats extremely important
@@fractalofgod6324 I still get them but it’s not nearly worst when I was super low on magnesium and potassium and plus I was having panic attacks it was bad one day I woke up and had hard skipped beats for like 3 hours straight that’s what made me go see a cardiologist they did heart test and also heart ultrasound none was wrong and he suggested maybe I am low on minerals
