Neighbors say the homeowners avoided injury Wednesday in a car-versus-house ordeal that surveillance video showed happened when an SUV pulled up behind a parked car and then pushed it across the street.
"It Almost looked like he deliberately lined up behind our car and slowly just pushed it..." or did it EXACTLY look like that's what he did? I mean, Im no detective, but... Yeah.
I’m surprised that the reporter didn’t use the word allegedly’ to describe what happened. That’s what they typically do even though they have video evidence.
@@mickeyphillips6603 In this case, “allegedly” is not needed because the suspect is not named. Journalists use “allegedly” when something has not yet been proven in a court of law due to liability.
The 69 year old driver of the SUV was taken to hospital by Police as a precaution and cited where it was confirmed that 'impairment was an issue' - LoL no kidding!
Probably someone not happy with him parking there. My guess. Some people really freak out if someone parks in front of their house. Had that issue a few months ago in my neighborhood. Some guy shouting at the top of his lungs, cursing up a storm, I think every cop in the city showed up. Legally anyone can park anywhere on the side of the road, as long as it’s not blocking a driveway.
I had someone block my driveway one Friday evening just as I was about to make a 2.5 hour drive up north here in MN. It was some lady with a late 90's station wagon because, the next door neighbors were having a garage sale. I was flabbergasted at the gall of this woman because I was out in my driveway, trucked backed in and loading up my gear to cut down some dead trees on mom's property for her, and my friends who were going help and hang out there helping. She was there and holding us up for over 30 minutes when I grabbed my Pulaski (fireman axe essentially) and quaintly yelled next door, "if that car in front of my driveway doesn't get moved, it's going get new speed holes punched through it with THIS AXE". The woman then stopped perusing my neighbors wares and promptly ran to move her car and apologized. I didn't enjoy doing it but I was pissed that this person completely disregarded my friends, family, our right to travel and my plans without a thought for anyone but herself to finding a good deal on anything my neighbor was selling. My neighbor also apologized but I said that it wasn't his fault and forgave him anyway. Afterall, he and his family are good people and I like them. So yeah, park where you want. Just don't block fire hydrants or someone's driveway. Also, there was a UPS truck exchanging packages in front of our other neighbor's house across the street during the day. I let it go the first time but they did it again a week later and I balled them out for it. They said nothing back but it hasn't happened since.
That's why you turn your wheel towards the curb whether you're parked on an incline or not. I used to live in a crowded city and some jerks would push cars out of spaces and into the red zone where they would be ticketed or towed.
@@neilkurzman4907 The car was pushed straight. If the wheels pointed to the curb, it would not have gone straight. It would veer to the right over the curb. It would have been very near impossible to push it straight to the intended house.
Yeah then they'll give him a round trip ticket to orlando and all expenses paid vacation to disneyworld. Then they'll give him a 24K gold necklace for wasting his time and give him the key to the city and crown him the king of America. That's the way they treat criminals in this country. 🤦♂
No kidding! These days the courts are giving a little slap on the hands for all kinds of things! Drugs, DUI’s even murder. It’s insane! Everyone gets out of jail too! I’m disgusted with the Utah courts!
The big question is who was driving the SUV that pushed it? Did they take them into custody or did he/she drive off? Are they looking for the car and driver? This report is really strange.
Houses on a t-shaped intersection always need a barrier out front. House around corner from has a standard highway style guardrail across front of house.
And sometimes, even that guardrail isn't enough to stop a large vehicle. My mother's house was completely destroyed by a Ford F-250 that had already flattened 100' of guard rail. Had she not gotten out of her bed earlier than usual that morning, she would have most likely been killed since that bedroom was the initial point of contact.
This is my old neighborhood. This is a T intersection where a residential 25mph meets another 25mph, also residential but with a yellow stripe down the middle.
I grew up in a small town that had the highway style guardrail across the front of one house, like you mentioned. At least twice, I saw a Semi Tractor and trailer laying on its side in their front yard. I would not buy a house like that.
like the guys comment as he watched the suv line up and push the car into the house being done intentionally, saying it almost seems like it was intentional
@jazziez6467 He didn’t outright say that it *WAS* intentional because if that were the case, his insurance might not cover it. Responsibility would then fall to the SUV driver’s insurance company.
@@stanford-nf4jk If he has full coverage, I see no reason why intentional damage wouldn't be covered (subject to the specific terms of the insurance policy). (For example, if the car were stolen -- obviously an intentional act -- it would be covered.)
I'd love to hear the driver's story. DUI, cuckoo, what, why? Ah, found more info. 69-yr-old, 'possibly' impaired - permanently. Maybe dementia. Article wasn't real clear except he was hospitalized.

Anyone notice the little kid on the bike this nut job passed on his way to pushing the car? What if he or another kid was riding his bike in FRONT of the car?
There are two homeowners and I know one of the couples personally. They've been on their original marriage *_with eachother_* for at least 25 years. Not that it matters but neither of the couple are African descent. No use speculating.
Im no expert, but the footage of slowly pushing a parked car, in park, assuming handbrake engaged, doesnt mix with the later statement "basically like a bullet" 🤔
@@Racingirl911 I'm thinking the SUV driver is a friend of a friend of a coworker and this is an insurance scam. Nobody involved thought there'd be a camera to catch it all.
@@johnathansaegal3156 Oh?? A friend of a friend of a coworker of a neighbor of a grocery clerk of my mom’s uncle’s sister??? Wow! Could your “theory” have anymore holes in it??!! Oh, if I remember correctly, that footage came from a ring type camera.
Not much additional info available as of today, April 30, 2024, but according to "Local 12" (do t c om): "According to police, the 69-year-old driver of the SUV was moved to the hospital as a precaution. He was then issued a citation. Impairment is believed to have been a factor in the crash." That's all the info available so far.
@@Milesco “Impairment” isn’t too informative as that could mean chemical (drugs or booze) or physical (health issue), or mental like senility or mental illness.
@@bcbock Yeah, there is surprisingly little info available on this bizarre crash. Given its unusual nature, I would've expected there to be a lot of media coverage. As for "impairment"...although technically that could indeed be the result of organic causes, I think it's generally understood to imply drugs or alcohol.

Media is steadily teaching us that we are worthy of severely incomplete reporting. It compliments their stories where they just straight out lie to us.
Why didn't they show the actual video as recorded??? The zoom totally obstructed the ability to see what happened. Just leave the ring cam footage alone and show it as is. Would've been better
That looked intentional like he was pissed off at the homeowners or the kid who’s car it was or thought it was, either that or straight up escaped from the loony bin type of crazy
My big thought here is everyone mad about parking call a tow company. Why get yourself caught up in a felony. You know, as a felon, you lose the right to defend ones-self as a citizen with a gun. But i hope you all the best.
The thing I find strangest about this report is how the reporter seems loath to even suggest that someone did this. It’s not until the very end of the report that we hear the first word said about the driver of the SUV. Until then, it’s all about the SUV pushing a car... as if the SUV did it all on its own! And it seems I’m not the only one who thinks this is strange, judging from the comments. The most sensible way to make a report like this is: “A man driving an SUV pushed a parked car into a house...”
I guess, it depends on the family dynamic in each household, there are some good ones, but there might be a few bad ones here and there. But no one knows behind closed doors.
Regardless of the criminal circumstances, the Insurance Company of the Car that was launched and Destroyed the House will be responsible for the Damage.
Seeing this has me imagining a guy out driving around, sees a parked car, decides to push the car, pushes it, doesn't stop until it has gone through a house, and drives away like nothing happened. What? Where? Why would you do that?? Was he confused about reality vs GTA Vice City?
So... I would guess that there is one of two scenarios... The homeowner that had the house attacked was the intended target by someone who wanted revenge for something... or... the driver of the car was hunting down a particular licence plate and found it and decided to get revenge for being cut off in traffic...
How fast did the driver of the suv accelerate in order to cause that amount of damage? The tires were squealing as it was slowly being pushed…It appears as if someone was behind the wheel and personally drove it into the house. How’d they get safely across with oncoming traffic? No witnesses? My apologies guys. I’m just trying to figure this one out😂
WTAF? It didn’t look like he deliberately lined up behind the other car and deliberately pushed the car into the house? Really? Yes this one was absolutely deliberate. Now the question is why.
The video looks confusing. The car being pushed is moving forward not toward the house. How did the car get lined up with the house and move with enough velocity to do that much damage"
