The way Fahad Fazil looks at kamal when he pulls the machine gun single handedly just conveys how much he has heard about the man (Vikram, the ghost) and realising it isn't a hoax. He just delivered a masterpiece of acting in that frame just with his eyes. Legendary stuff.
I would really like lokesh to go on and write extensive story for all the characters that he would like to have a spin-off and give other directors to direct them. I badly need a Rolex movie directed by vetrimaran, a extensive female action movie by sudha, stylish Fahad movie by Gautam vasudev menon and also a heist movie by venkat Prabhu. I was happy with Kamal in the first half. He was ghostly there throughout 1st half (which is the theme of the movie I believe). His character was building up the whole 1st half with FaFa’s investigation, which pumped up 2nd half for me.

Vikram is a cocane , after you watch Vikram you have constant craving for Vikram, and every time you watch movie your craving is increase , and that's why I am watch Vikram 40 times or 40 Sunday's ,
im surprised there were no first half second half questions. for me this was one of the most drastic changes in the tone of a film before and after interval I've seen in a long time.
Agreed with overcooked and undercooked review.. being a diehard Kamal fan, I always celebrated his experiments in his movies.. but what happened is current generation of audiences never understood his experiments on movies in theaters, due to that Kamal somehow lagged in box office collections.. trade also continued to praise the actors who broke box office records... So Kamal should comeback strongly in box office records, so that 2k kids should know, he is the real icon who can smash box office records, who can play mass and clas movies... He is in final stage of his career, he doesn't need to prove anything hereafter.. let him set records in box office by joining with current generation directors.. Also, I want the same from Rajinikanth, though I'm a diehard Kamal fan, I want him back with roaring success... So that we can again see the box office war from Tamil cinema legends...

Sorry to say that MASALA Rajini in my opinion is the sole reason for PAN INDIA audience to look DOWN on THAMIZH CINEMA. I would say Rajini is pretty lucky and most of the time, he did nothing but remake Hindi movies. While on the other hand, Kamal Sir ( I do not want to say Kamal Haasan. I think he deserves a "LEGEND / SIR" tag) kept on EXPERIMENTING in spite of loss after loss. 34 fractures in his body is a testament to what he is and he is the "LEGEND" for me not only in Tamil but PAN INDIA. First of all I want to give Loki the credit for giving a fantastic film and I cannot remember the last time a Tamil film generated so much of constructive discussions and fan theories ... My minor gripe with the film was VJS characterisation... First of all its so difficult to make VJS not likeable ...he simply wins u over .. In master only after he kills the kids he kinda became hate-worthy ... I wish lokesh didn't reveal that lab was in the basement of their house and written in a way that fafa discovers it by chance and he uncovers something very dark and diabolical which motivates him to blow up the place ... Also almost every scene VJS comes he's talking about the Rolex character and although suriya stole the show ...in the hindsight it's hard to believe a sociopath like vjs is intimidated by Rolex
Fafa was not your standard "good guy". He was still a ruthless black ops agent who was willing to do whatever to reach his end goal. He was planning to blow VJS entire family 67 members including women & children. In fact the way it was set up was for the bomb to explode specifically when people were inside. Edit: spelling
I've always believed that a good movie is abt how it presents the idea it wants to say rather than the idea itself. Which means Screenplay>>>>>Story anytime. I'm glad Lokesh chose to go with a racy screenplay rather than make a movie based on characters since that would mean having more scenes to establish the character. It's not that he can't establish character, look how he established Rolex in freaking 3 mins. But rest of the movie i guess was a conscious writing decision not delve too deep into character establishment.
vikram one of those movie, whose you might not understand on your 1st watch. question will rise and you have to go back watch "vikram" again. most of the action movie is just brutal, in case of lokesh "kaithi" and "vikram" there emotion and story, i think that's pretty very rare.
You have really answered all the questions well, loved the film but felt something was missing, I didn't know what it really was until I saw this video, you have put together everything i felt, after i came out of the theatre I had this amazing feeling of MASS seeing all these big actors who I have fangirled and grown up in one big screen but the thing which I missed was whenever I see a film i emotionally connect with the character of that film, but that was not there here , again it may be because Lokesh has tried to give this God-like image to Vikram, so obviously that may have played a part in this flaw everyone was referring,hope I can see a lot of back stories to this character in the upcoming film.And one more thing i felt was Vijay sethuapthi is such a fine actor who can pull off this heartless rowdy look,but placing him in a role of a person who is nothing but a pure drug dealer without any intelligence or that much of an importance like Fahed Fazil or Suriya had ,did not do justice to his image,even though he pulled off that role,it could have been played by another person,but ofcourse the weight of the character would have been reduced
Awesome movie. I have to say. The comment on the overcooked and undercooked parts, I would not agree. This is more of logesh movie, his storytelling rather than a Kamal movie. Many Tamil films failed to perform because Directors focus on the traits and appeal of the big actors rather than their storytelling and logics. Logesh did well, not to focus too much on the traits of the big actor.
This movie is an gud attempt for concept of cinematic universe in kollywood,yes there are some characters which aren't explained fully but tht characters can lead to other storyline which has connection with this movie.in this way he can make a cinematic universe of himself.if u see the writing of the film is totally like tht to give more fan theories like how we do for marvel/DC movies.this is what he wanted to do to us.this movie itself can lead to 3 more story lines like amar after vikram events,kaithi 2,vikram sequel,if possible thalapathy 67 in this universe🤪(P.S:im thalapathy fan)

Kamal is very under utilized in Vikram. The movie is more of a celebration of his presence than his acting prowess. I felt Kamal, for a change was happy to take a step back and simply oblige. Nevertheless his presence has added the much needed aura of rootedness to the movie that otherwise is in a continuous flux.
Everything was gd vjs acting fafas acting i was disappointed after coming out from theatre i didn't know what's missed in film i don't know why i didn't connected to characters whole movie with full of legendary actors twists and actions i felt nothing overwhelming even though it was an awesome film
Bro, In recent interview, he told like he wanted to make series of movies with having many spin offs like MCU/DC. He intentionally wanted to make plot holes, not defining characters just to make it curious for audience and make a fuzz about his movie, keep on trend so that he could make movies which connect many top actors to make a movie together......
Even if you have vjs you can't make him total badass like bhavani everytime, remember what kartik subbraj did with petta singaram(I love both of those movies, point is its hard to manage and lokesh manged it very well)

the answer to the first question was spot on! Had the same feel.... the characters of kamal & vjs were not as good as the character arc of FAFA. I personally felt FAFA as the hero of the movie.
I said this to my friends that Fahad was actually the best actor in the movie , everyone said I was a fool. But honestly if not for Fahad in the first half this movie would have been mid!
i think the break was vjs his willingness to act in multistarers...vikram vedha was a comeback movie 4 madhavan but then u look at something like master it was the film after the biggest succes of vj's career...he acted in that and got a bigger role than thalapathy...kudos to thalapathy 4 that😊

Dilli's wife does'nt get killed, they try to take her away but dilli saves her by killing those guys and the cops arrests him. probably she dies during giving birth to his daughter
I think only way to justify dilli role in next movie, what if gets to know naren's daughter was killed by the drug gang and he goes all way to wipe out supporting black squad..
In vikram'86 kamal uses kinda high tech watch which even used to release locks...same here, it was a techy watch which probably measures d efforts of punch something lyk tat...
The questions which you ask means that you have to watch it again...to clarify your own questions... and the director cannot be giving reasons for everything as the movie has tight screenplay and ruuning time..

I felt a bit cheated during interval block (mostly my bad) as I was expecting 2 things - 1. When the initial teaser, Bejoy’s speech in jail were all building up towards biriyani feast, I thought it would be some kinda gun shooting fest in the interval at the wedding like in the teaser. 2. Also when santhanam men were hiding dozens of double barrels and knives in wedding place, was expecting again a gun fest. But Loki olungu katified with his index finger (“april fool”) and made it a kidnap scene and took us to a different place and hyped it to reveal THE GHOST! That too with the mococam insane fight. Enjoyed it the second time! P.S: I still felt cheated again as the masked man didn’t have any body language or the eyes of Vikram except for the last scene where he turns on phone video, which was fine if he had maintained consistency till the end with the eyes atleast. Like convince us by saying he used some kinda prosthetics to make his eyes different (one of the dasavatharams). It felt like stunt dupe suddenly replaced by Kamal. But all the more that was worth the twist, atleast in theaters!
u probably know this already, but surya's cameo was leaked before the release of the movie, n news spreading already. so the crew had to acknowledge it, the initial idea was to make it a surprise
We people forget that in life there will lot of characters which we will be inspired , not one character like only hero, so we need to move from hero oriented movies to character oriented movies if we need to make really good movies. I don't agree with more Kamal point as if the movies needs him more, the director would show it. If Kamal want to do that he can direct a movie n leave from acting as directing a movie is not a easy task.
Padatha atleast 2 times paathuttu please revisit your answers. Not saying you will disagree woth youself, but the movie demands a rewatch to be sure of what we feel.
I felt the same that kamal's character arc hasn't been projected well. I could see kamal as kamal only and not as vikram. That may be because of his time space in movie is stringent. But still that doesn't bother the entertainment
I think Santhanam is still alive. Because any agent/cop doesn't want to waste the witness or the clue they have. In the post-climax scene, kamal sneaks into the place of Rolex. Then someone should have helped him. What if it was Santhanam. Kamal also says that this is not revenge for my son's death. Santhanam's death should be flash news and he doesn't want the Erythroxylum substance to enter the city. So he burns it all at once. And saves Santhanam to help him in future.

For me Fahad fazil performance played a greater role in taking the whole story forward in first. I can't think of any other actor who could have pulled off this character better
100% agree on the overcooked and under cooked part. Good to see some one not just giving only positive vibes just to fit in with the group. This over hyping and trolling of a movie is seriously a dangerous trend. For example, valimai and beast should not have been trolled that much and Vikram shouldn’t be hyped this much. It is a decent movie with few crowd pleasing tactics, in my opinion.

I watched the movie twice now and the intermission fight scene cinematogrpahy with the music and of course the somewaht expected reveal was sooooo good. The main characters other than fahad fasil were a little undercooked in terms of story. Top 3 things for me is 1.intermission scene 2.music overall anirudh's best imo 3.Kamal fight scene at the house suriya cameo leaves me super excited for the film. The good thing is there are still areas where this movie can improve, edit: Lol I agreed with you on pretty much everything but I wrote the comment before watching the video.
In kaithi Dilli didn't describes his identity and this made us to think about what will be the connection, how Loki will connect two movies and i have my version also 🤣. I think Dilli has a background of a rowady because he tells that I was very much indulged in drinking and in fight , so this shows that he used to interact with rowdies and when he met her girlfriend and fell in love with her that changed him totally but someone took revenge by killing her so obviously there should be reason to kill someone and i think here Loki will connect Dilli and Surya togather actually I think Surya character (Rolex) will connect all the other characters in upcoming Loki movie's
That's the catch, 10/10 for the efforts. Your euphemism is commendable. You could have just said your opinion in layman terms, in-turn tried to be nice with undercooked/overcooked words. TBH, movie was just one time watchable, and predictable as well. (3/5) Kamal's death scene in the beginning was just a red herring to the plot. Easily predictable by the audience. I felt it was just a tribute to Kamal by Fanboy Lokesh. Nothing significant in the story-telling. Kudos to Lokesh in keeping the screenplay riveting throughout the movie with flat storyline, only felt lag in the first half. Stunt choreography was good. Excessive use of EDM/House themed music by Anirudh, but I still liked it. (As a music lover) It's been 14 years, but Indian music directors are still in Dark Knight hangover. What an influence! Keeping minor logics & stunts aside, movie is still worth watching it in theatre. I just hope Lokesh doesn't get carried away with the current trend of "Universe" and ruin his credibility. ☮️
