They've never really left India and don't seem to have easy access to maps either. A globe will give them a better sense of the world around them.

This episode was especially interesting for Raeen as he is a Tailor by profession & understands the work that goes into these wedding outfits. Babu has a very good eye he sure caught the fact that some of them were indeed Royalty from the UK. Babu should be informed about the custom that the bridal bouquet is tossed by the bride at the end of the day at the single ladies in her bridal party & whoever catches it will be the next to marry. Projecting much? I'm betting these villagers interact with the modern world. Personally, I've found rural Americans incredibly elitist and insular, contrary to their narrative of being the "common folk." They always bang on every election about being "real" Americans.
@hectorsmommy1717
@hectorsmommy1717 2 года назад
Being open minded has nothing to do with where a person is raised but has everything to do with their outlook on life and the world. If you have a curiosity about life, you will be more open to experiences and more accepting of differences. People with no interest in anything but themselves stay closed minded.

The sensation and popularity of Queen Victoria's white wedding dress inspired the tradition of white bridal gowns.
@ApparentlyGoogledislikesmyname
@ApparentlyGoogledislikesmyname 2 года назад
Exactly. It's interesting how new that tradition is really. I feel that this being popularized in other countries like Easter Europe detracted a bit from all the variety of colors and patterns that brides used to wear. It's refreshing to see when people choose folkloric attires at weddings - so much more interesting than the same variation on a western white dress and a tuxedo.

White is not really symbolic of purity of the bride. It came in fashion after Queen Victoria as the color for a wedding dress and then caught fire across the UK and USA. The color white was rarely worn previously because of the expense and inconvenience of wearing a white garment (easily soiled). The original color of purity was blue, which is where the traditon of a bride carrying of something blue (for luck or purity) comes from.

7:41 God, I've lived to see my country! I am so proud and happy !! Edit: These are Polish highlanders: people who lived so far in the South that for centuries they had no contact with the rest of the country. However, they quickly adopted Christianity and identify themselves as Poles. They have their own language, culture and traditions. For example, the groom has shells sewn to the hat and the bride has red beads on her chest - these are symbols of their high social status.

Truly a fascinating wonderful experience seeing both your videos and showing it to those adorable men...I do wish though you had chosen a different dress for our American bride...her dress absolutely is gorgeous but, I'm in the wedding market and this is NOT typical of our gowns...and you didn't show any trains or veils except for Princess Kate and her family...Kate's gown is much more American looking and each tiara they wore represents a loan from the Queen of England, Kate's husbands grandmother...but WOW, you did one great job...thank you for taking the time to do this and show it to those gentlemen.

That was a really nice video again! I loved Babu's song in memory of his friend too. He asked about the bouquet...I don't know if this is the same in all cultures, but usually in the West, the bride walks with a bunch of flowers in her hand to the altar or registry office and during the wedding ceremony, the bridesmaid or a flower girl will hold it for her. After the ceremony she gets it back and at some point during the party afterwards, she will throw it in the air behind her and all the single ladies among the wedding guest will try to catch it. The one who does will be the next to marry. ;) I was a bridesmaid once, but I never caught one. lol.

I would so much like to know these gentlemen( they are gentlemen in the truest sense of the word, gentle men). Their apparent curiosity about the world is almost equal to mine and I Delight when they see something that they've never seen before. When I see you the way they react to things that most people take for granted it gives me a whole new perspective on the world around me yes I really wish that I could meet these gentlemen and speak to them for days and answer any questions they might have.

He was just wearing traditional Górale's suit, not some special-wedding one. Górale are nation of simplicity. (They are separate nation allied with Polish nation over 1000 years ago, same as Kashubians, who allied with Poland 650 years ago)

Does anyone remember that show In Living Color? David Allen Grier played a reoccurring character that had a song for every situation. He'd say without pausing for an answer "I wrote a song about it. Would you like to hear it? Here it goes." then he starts singing and playing his guitar. Babu reminds me of that character. He has a song for every occasion. I love Babu.

The bouquets are traditional in English culture and that was passed down to Canadian and American culture. In Canada and America, all the unwed girls whom are seeking to get married gather in a group at the wedding reception and the bride faces away from the girls and throws her bouquet over her head. It is said that the girl who catches the bouquet will be the next to wed. It is a fun superstition that brings luck in love.
