Love that last sentence. "Still not as corrosive as vodka on a liver." Glad alcohol isn't one of my vices.

My dad had sulfuric acid sprayed on his face once. He worked at a factory and something broke and sprayed him. It was a complete accident of course and it was washed off immediately. But he had red dots on his face for a long time after that incident. And for at least one decade it flared up whenever he was in the sun or bathed at the bath house. It's not something to be messed with.

Listening to the guys talk about how scary it would be for acids to be used against humans, I think an interesting follow-up video to this one would be a video about chemical warfare. Truly horrific. (Hopefully they'll feel better if they also learn that there are international laws and agreements banning the use of chemical weapons, so only truly insidious regimes still use them.)

In some countries including India Acid attacks are still used by men and families to disfigure and damage women's faces for the sake of honor. Law is not very effective in countries where old customs, culture and religion outweighs law

I use citric acid in dyeing protein fibers. The colors strike with acid present and become permanent. But that, vinegar and lemon juice are the only acids I play around with! The strong ones are scary. Good information in this, I enjoyed learning more like they did. Guddu taught me something too. I didn't know acids were used in metalwork!

I think the boys are ready for some basic chemistry lessons, just going over elements and stuff. I think it'll be easier to understand because the elements are used all the time in regular life--copper, silver, gold, iron, but even magnesium, sodium, calcium and sulfur im sure the boys have at least heard of these.

I just had to stop the video after the hydrofluoric acid part, very misleading, yes the fluorides will destroy your nerves but that doesn't mean you don't feel it... quite the opposite the pain is intense (a former colleague described it as the worst pain she ever felt) and not even opiates do anything against it.

They should see what the repeated exposure of citric acid in Coca-Cola, Mountain Dew, and other soft drinks, does over time to the enamel on teeth. One hack to cleaning a toilet is temporarily remove the water from the bowl itself and then pour Coke into the bowl and let it stand, having full contact with the stains on the porcelain. The citric acid will eat away at the stains just like toilet cleaning products will. Also notable is that milk contains lactic acid, which can cause an acidic effect on the baby teeth in children who go to sleep nursing on a bottle of milk... the long contact of the lactic acid in the milk residue causing "milk mouth"... evidenced by decay in their baby teeth. Of course, baby teeth are not permanent teeth, but allowing a child have an habitual "comfort" bottle of milk at bedtime is not a good idea because of the milk residue. In older children who have emerging permanent teeth, the practice of them going to sleep after drinking milk, or soda, or juices without at least rinsing their mouths certainly exposes the enamel of those emerging teeth to quicker erosion and greater vulnerability to decay. It's always a good idea when eating or drinking any food or liquid that is acidic... at least to rinse your mouth with water if you can't brush your teeth. You may say, "Oh, but I regularly brush at least once a day." But acids in citric fruits, soft drinks, and milk (and even coffee and tea) that are left on the teeth for the interim between brushing or rinsing will work on eroding the enamel, making teeth thinner, more stain-absorbing, and more susceptible to decay.

I don't know how wise it is to teach Indian villagers about stronger acids, but everyone needs to clearly understand that anyone who throws acid upon another for any reason other than dire necessary defense of someone weaker, deserves to, and very likely will, be cursed to even greater suffering than they caused, especially if they did such a heinous act in support of satanic false religions like islam. THE REAL GOD does not justify cruel selfish hypocrisy or abuse of the weaker.
