Hello Joel, long time viewer here. You talked about Lord of the Rings in this vod and I studied Tolkien extensively in college so I feel like I have some knowledge to answer your questions. Imagine having to carry around an anvil on a chain around your neck for a year and that whole time the anvil talks to you telling you to beat people over the head with it. That's sort of what frodo went through, only way less spiritually destructive than the ring. Sam deserves every bit of credit he gets and should get more, but Frodo walked into Mordor with nothing but the rags on his back and managed to get to the cracks of doom in spite of enormous temptation. Also, in the book Sam spares Gollum outside Mt Doom after carrying the ring for a bit, and because of that Gollum fell into the lava and destroyed the ring. They probably couldn't have destroyed it at all on purpose, such was its power. As for why Gandalf didn't heal Frodo when he got stabbed on Weathertop, the boring answer is because Gandalf isn't a healer. Gandalf does all of nothing in Rivendell when Frodo gets stabbed and has to have elrond help. When Merry, Faramir and Eowyn take Morgul wounds in the last book Gandalf waits by then but can't heal them, only Aragorn can because he's the king (also elaborated on in the book). Also Gandalf didn't bring himself back from the dead, the gods basically said "no go back everything still sucks" lmao.
