I love 24 Faubourg so much. There’s something about these classic fragrances worn by stars of the recent past that have a larger-than-life, transporting elegance.

Mitsouko was my signature perfume from the age of 20, at 80's, for a decade! It is still for me the eternal love. I have a large fragrance collection, i have not anymore signature fragrance, since i want to enjoy the variaty of perfumes i own, but, in my heart, there is only Mitsouko! My precious!

Yes!!! This is why I love Guerlain so much, they're so rich in history... Keeping the glamour alive... Tragic what Dior did to Jean Patou, to have such a historical fragrance replaced by the pink juice.

Joan Crawford! I own 'Queen Bee'. Well, no one but Joan 'owned' her films! ha, but I have most of her films because no one did movie queen better than Joan & I need to watch her movies whenever I want! -- 'Harriet Craig' is a favorite and her Oscar winning 'Mildred Pierce'.

Ava Gardner apparently wore Chanel's Gardenia and Acqua di Parma. I imagine Humphrey Bogart in a leathery scent, something like Knize Ten. Sean Connery was said to be a fan of Jicky, as was Brigitte Bardot.

I was 6 years old when I saw Marilyn Monroe in River of No Return. I remember thinking she was the most beautiful women I ever saw. Later as a young woman I discovered she wore Chanel No. 5 and naturally I had to get myself a bottle. I still love and own that fragrance. She is my favorite movie star icon.

I must say that the description of Katharine Hepburn‘s signature really suits her. My Nana’s signature is Obsession and she always used to spray our birthday and Christmas cards with them. I remember the smell so well. How glamorous!!

Ooooh, I adore Mitsouko. Its not for the fainthearted and I think people either love or hate it. I have Shalimar Soufflé Which I love. I'm tempted to try obsession again. Street car named desire..I remember that book and read it over a few times!. She had 'nerve trouble ' ... always accompanied by that 'hushed voice', when people spoke about it. Lovely fragrances. Dear Fragnantician, Spendid choices; wonderful actresses. Am I right to be surprised by no Jicky or Shalimar? Jean Patou's Joy is an absolute favourite of mine, but the lab civit isn't nearly as good as the real thing, and so say I! When I was v. young (16), I volunteered at the local hospital where seemingly every lady on the ward had a bottle of Youth Dew and they all sprayed it lavishly on their person. I took against it, not b/c the patients were old, though they were, but b/c of the association with dying and death. Having heard you speak of it, though, I shall try it next time I see it. Oh, and one last one I adore is Lanvin's Eau de Lanvin - not that in any sense others need care. Thank you for a marvellous run-down, and for the film recommendations: Queen Bee sounds a hoot. Amazing video, thank you. I wore 2 of those scents, Joy and Obsession. One thing I will say about these fragrances is that it was perfectly ok to wear strong fragrances and also be un apologetically glamorous in the 80s. Today I feel if you try to be glamorous you may get dirty looks. Due to allergies I have to wear light fragrances, but not by choice!!😂

I believe the wife of Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge, wears Jo Malone. I heard she had Jo Malone candles all over for her wedding as well. I don't remember the particular scent but it is a popular one. Slightly off topic but I figured since Princess Diana was in this video that it was appropriate to mention. If I find out her fragrance choice, I will edit this comment.

The original Obsession was the one perfume that gave me free worst headache when it first came out even though I loved the smell I could never wear it which is a shame, I’ve never smelt it since then. Same with original Poison, but I guess I just have to think of all the ones I can wear lol. Loved this video being reminded of all those screen sirens of yesteryear so thanks Gabster 💕💕💕

Hi Gabi, I was wondering if you've tried "Shocking" by Schiaparelli? I would like to recommend it to you, hiwever it was discontinued but you can still find some minis on ebay. It is jasmine, honey, civet, powder... My oh my how great that is... ❤️❤️❤️ I find it similar to Bal a Versailles but BETTER 😍

Gabi, this was amazing! I love vintage fragrances and so enjoyed hearing what the starlets of yesteryear wore. How thrilling Jane Fonda wore Obsession, I wore it for years! Also absolutely love Shalimar, Opium, Tabu, White Shoulders, Chanel no.5...I have no idea if any Starlets wore these, I would love to know. I still wear them all the time. Now I need to get my hands on a few of these! Thank you love xx

You really know your movie stars!! Love hearing about all of the classic beauties and their favorite perfumes. I used to wear CK obsession, such a sultry scent. Joy by Jean Patou, is one that I wore in the 90’s, and loved it, along with Jean Patou 1,000. I may have to start wearing them again! Thanks Gabi for this fabulous video!🎬🥰

People stank. lol Elizabeth Taylor was so over the top fabulous! I just ordered a bottle of Bal a Versailles. I actually love many of Elizabeth Taylor White Diamond fragrances too. What do you think of them? Gosh I would love a whole video dedicated to her and her fragrances.

I’m so into this and would love to offer you the idea of coming up with a video where you decide what modern day fragrances you think each of your favourite classic screen sirens would wear if they were living in their prime now. I'm so happy you brought up Mitsouko! I bought it years back because I found out 1930s actress Jean Harlow wore it. I ended up wearing it on my trip to Hollywood back in 2018. 😎

I also have a love for classic films. Charlie Chaplin is my absolute favorite. I have a bit of a crush on him if I must say. It was so interesting to find out the favorite fragrances of these stars.
