From the looks of the video, he more than likely has a lot more driving skill than most of the people who commented on here about what he's doing wrong. Lol you're going to hit the rev limiter, it's racing. The new vipers have a sweet spot in the upper rpm band so technically it's good to keep the revs up. The reason the t/a probably seems faster is because the car chassis is more stiff, the car has 40 more hp, is lighter and I believe has a little bit lower COG. But the acr has the better tires (if they're still the Michelin cups), better down force so it's really cool to see how these 2 match up. But don't let me preach about it because it is your car and not mine. Great video
You my friend have what I like to call Skillz! You were killin it out there. That looked like major fun. Most people only get to experience a race of that intensity in a game.
Great driving! Lots of fun! I'd have to say that the ACR driver wasn't on his game. Looked pretty casual, like he wasn't leaning on it more than 7 or 8 10ths. Props to that cool lady in the passenger seat! My wife would be screaming and crying for sure...You got a great lady there! :)
That was awsome, my two favorite cars going at it, TA is my first 1st and ACR 2nd I was so torn to who I wanted to see win I'm happy with the outcome...great driving man
New Viper is really good and nice driving too! But the best of all is the cool and composed girl! Mine doesn't last half lap on my tuned 2010 Z06 without getting very sick!
You Have A New Fan.. Mopar Forever.. I drive my Sleepy 1968 Dodge Dart everyday. And absolutely Love Vipers. Your a Great driver. Vipers ruled the track for sure. Peace
Rev limiter much, I get that it's pointless to shift up and then downshift 2 seconds later going into a turn but what is with the not shifting on the straightaways when you clearly needed to or had the headroom for it?
icedstar I was referring to the times where he obviously had room to shift up rather than let it hit the rev limiter for 10 to 12 seconds. I get that were times where it would have been pointless or unnecessary, but for those few straightaways he had plenty of room to shift and he might have been able to overtake that ACR a few laps sooner.
icedstar well the way you worded yours it sounded like you didn't understand my point so I figured I'd clarify. And yes I fully agree that he cannot drive that car.
Ryan Grobe At the end of the day.. it's his car. Stop whining because you could only wish of owning this beast. Go get one yourself then, post a video like this & make us proud!
icedstar why did you start this sentence like you're trying to disagree with him and then support his statement by the time you finished the same sentence?
icedstar watch this professional driver lap the Nuremberg in a Viper and then go tell him he doesn't know how to drive because he hits the rev limiter a lot! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o2mFEC2H0cY.html
All the people complaining about the driver should look up 'jermey clarkson Laguna seca.' He goes over the differences between video game racing and the real thing. The point is it is scary to do 130mph or so and trust the car is going to be there for you. I've no reason to defend this video's driver but he seems legit and it's his car/life on the line when he biffs things. And if he's so bad he wouldn't have passed people.
Good run, agressive for sure. Get some wheel chocks so you don't have to pull the e brake when your done. Better to let those rotors cool without contact.
Not much difference between the new TA to the old ACR. For the money the ACR is the ultimate buy. Belanger exhaust and intake will match and even beat the stock TA. I still think the ACR is the better track machine. But I love the TA design too.
Please stop commenting you ignorant idiot. I have the best ACR - the 2010 version and it does have AC, navigation, HD Radio, and adjustable pedals. You know nothing and my previous statement stands to be true. Do some research before commenting on things u know nothing about!!
As a gt3 driver, I can't help but think of my over revs adding up on my dme and trying to explain that to the next owner! Glad dodges don't have it. Hope to be adding a 16 acr very soon!! And a very quick lap time! My fastest in my c6z06 was 1:40 on Michelin pss. What are some times you did at cw13 and big willow?
I've only run willow on a motorcycle afm race weekend, 1.54. I have a 2016 acr it's insane, do it! I'm at laguna this sunday with Randy pobst I'm shooting for low 1.30
That was so entertaining, even Odin and Zeus were excited from above. I felt uncomfortable for the ACR driver when you were close to him. He coulda-been like "ok speed racer, this is fun but these cars are too damn expensive for a high speed collision, so go ahead of me" Good driving though.
Internet Expert/ Keyboard Commando/ Video Game Professional here: Anyone else feel that with a few laps they could have done better...? Btw I wonder why he wasn't going balls to the wall In the uphill section between turns five and six '_' just my pair of pennies.
James Stevick thats where the sound booth is located at Laguna. They have a 92 decibel limit which most cars don't pass. You have to let off when you pass it or they black flag you.
+James Stevick Aside from the original poster's reply about lifting for the sound booth: This is a real-life run, by a [presumably] amateur driver, piloting his own $100k car. Unlike Forza, there's no rewind/exit game/turn off console if you hit the wall. You can also feel things in the seat that just don't come through in this video (or a video game), such as the limits of your tire's grip, g-forces going around a corner, the sound of an engine straining on a hot day, etc. So could he have done better? Probably. But that likely would have entailed an unacceptable risk of wiping out, totaling his car, and injuring himself and/or his passenger. Smart move by the driver, and a cool video--I love watching track sessions!
I'd love to drive this track, I've never raced, and wouldn't even come close to matching up with these cars. but itd be fun to drive a track, not race, drive it haha.
I just wish the TAs weren't limited-edition, as I feel like they fill a very nice track performance niche between the regular Gen Vs and the upcoming ACR.
Great driving, just think the pilot needs to start practicing heel and toe on braking, it becomes second nature once it is mastered, but I know the feeling of braking from 200 to 80km/hr using heel and toe can get scary if you mess up! Congrats still on such a great car and driving
The dumbest thing in the world is why there is a decibel meter on the track and why they even care about sound. Commifornia for ya. Anyways nice driving!! That was sick.
Great driving man, just smashing that limiter a bit too much. Before the 4th corner shift up instead of banging on the limiter. You have enough torque to drive out the corner in lower RPM and you'd probably come out the corner better with more traction anyway. I ain't some of these idiots in the comments who talk rubbish and don't even drive or race because I do myself.
The red Viper ahead of you sure knows how to fly. It all depends on how making good use of momentum on your own Viper can catapult you forward, and of course I am talking about the Slingshot Effect. Physics stuff. As long as you have that perfect momentum, you can slide yourself away from the red Viper's lead. And...that of course is very dangerous. Cough cough cough.
The TA got the potential to pass the Gen 4 ACR mainly due to fatter tire and stiffer damper to overcome lack of down force and the spoiler of ACR slow it down on straight line allows the TA to kind of fly pass it.
Then probably thanks to the stiffer damper, power to weight and faster straight line speed without big spoilers. Sorry about the tire part, I should say TA have a bigger tire than GTS.
2 Words. Viper Exchange..... They work with Chrysler.... the only Tuner so far that Chrysler Gave the ECU Code to Tune... 950hp Vipers will be coming soon.
You had so many opportunities to overpass him, and to put on the pressure if not. You are way too tense, it shows in your hands.. and over all I was screaming at you the whole video. Also, shift more often. At 7:15 you manned up a little but at 7:20 you were still accelerating too late. If you had kept braking and accelerating the same way you did the last corner at 7:30 right before you overtook the other viper, you would have done a much better time. But you still could have had much more speed if you had accelerated earlier. And it seems you're not very aware of your revs. I the end, it was a little frustrating to watch to say the least. I currently own a carrera4gts but I will upgrade this year to a viper acr. Thats how I found your video.
Both drivers suck..... but they have vipers..... you know how i know dude sucks at driving? You got your girl sitting next to you on track day....... I'm gonna repeat it.... TRACK DAY. VIPER. FAST. G FORCE. copy? learn how to shift.... great video though.
Gene Rossov I suck haha. You are a internet troll loser that will never ever . Shall I repeat? Ever have or will have 100k to drop on a car. If you had, which you havent you wouldn’t be making ignorant comments on RU-vid . So go back to the bedroom in your moms house and stfu and man the fuck up
