I made the same blanket last year and I also found it too small. Adding mohair and enlarging the pattern is a genius idea! I’ll be making another one. Yours is beyond beautiful! ❤

Thanks for your suggestions about using mohair. I've never worked with it and it looks lovely. Hope your tests turn out well. Always unsettling to go for tests around the holidays. Sandy's bags are beautiful! So nice to see podcasters being friends too. Enjoy your day, Kate.

Love love the blanket adaptations. That was definitely my complaint even though I love how my blanket looks. Just too small and thin!

Your Habitation Throw with mohair is looking lovely. It'll be interesting to see how big it turns out. I made one in the summer using 30 x 30g DK minis and it is just over 4ft square and so snuggly and warm. I loved knitting it, such a gentle relaxing knit.

Catching up with you and your lovely Vlogmas offerings … it’s early Sunday morning and we’ve had the most glorious sunrise with colours truly out of this world! I have been trying daily to look at the start of the day and the moon too in the evening to intentionally slow down and appreciate the pace … I had a little giggle to myself since I am knitting my very first Habitation throw in fingering yarn with my Beehive Yarns Cosy and Warm advent minis and I have gone down a needle size to wear it as a kind of double shawl but only yesterday thought of making another one as a left over stash buster with another solid yarn or mohair to bulk it up … great minds alike! Have the cosiest of Advents, Kate! 🤗🎄☕🧶

The new Habitation throw looks so snuggly. it looks like you could melt into it. I like theidea of making a larger one. I'm knitting a cosy memory blanket for my 3 seater sofa, it keeps me warm as I am knitting 😍

Hi Kate. I hope your eyes are OK. I am squeamish about eyes but have had to go to the RVH a couple of times because of "floaters" and what turned out to be a PVD. Both your habitation throws are beautiful. I hope to start one soon so I am grateful for your advice. Thank you.

It is interesting how knitting with mohair has added so much to the look of the throw. Did you go up a needle size to accommodate for the two yarns? Also, seeing you wearing your beautiful sweater makes me want to bring theyarn and pattern to the front of the line. After Christmas, of course.
