@@FadedLightBluePink no, that isn't correct. Eluveities is a key contributor but many others have started reconstructing the language. And it is spoken amongst Celtic Reconstructionists.
@@FadedLightBluePink ROMAN, not Romanian. And dead languages like ancient Gaulish have been reconstructed and kept alive by university scholars all over the world for no one even knows how long.
@@Sergey-wg7ne nope, Gaelic isn't a language but is used to refer to things of 'Gaelic' origin. It would be called a "Gaelic Language" in this case. Another example, in Ireland we have our own form of football called "Gaelic Football". Hope that clears it up :)
The instrument is the Hurdy Gurdy other bands like In extremo, Tanzwut and Faun often use it in their music too; these guys are fantastic and I would highly recommend checking out Korpiklaani too. Thank you for a wonderful reaction as always. 😊

I was at this show... It's the Summer Breeze Festival in Germany in 2017 & a couple songs later it rained sooooo much while were their playing. But who cares when good music is playing
That instrument you asked about is a Hurdy Gurdy c: The previous female singer of the band plays the Hurdy Gurdy and now has a band called Cellar Darling, I suggest to give them a listen, she's amazing live c:
I love all the band members from Cellar Darling but I actually don't like Cellar Darling itself very much, I think they were much better represented as musicians on tracks like Call of the Mountains and Slania's Song (for vocals) or King (for instruments).
@@HaibaneRakka571 well, Eluveitie's sound is more rich because they have a huge amount of instruments, so the impact is more powerful. Cellar Darling is "darker" and they are only three of them, but yet managed to produce a fresh kind of folk-rock, which I personally like c:
how did i only see that right now?? this band is amazing, they're from my hometown and it's just crazy to see how big they are nowadays... they're from switzerland, so not scandinavian. they sing in various languages, including gaulish, but also english
Love the song! Indeed a rather atypical song for Eluveitie, as most of their songs rely more on Chrigel Glanzmann's screams and have a more profound death metal-y sound. The instrument is a Hurdy Gurdy, see it as a mechnised violin meeting bagpipes. Keys are used to shorten string as the turning wheel goes against them, a bit like a violin and bow. It also has bourdon strings (don't know if this term is also used in English), a constantly sounding string providing the key or kwint, as you also have the constantly sounding note in the bagpips.
The unusual instrument is called a Hurdy Gurdy and the song is in Gaulish which is an extinct Celtic language spoken in Gaul (modern-day France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg) Also the song's melody is a traditional Irish song called "King of the Fairies"
Oh my gosh I love Eluveitie. I have been so interested in foreign bands for years now. I would recommend you do a reaction to The Unguided a Link to the past, however there is a lot of screaming from a different vocalist. Lol. Btw I absolutely love your reactions. And may look into vocal lessons in the future as I am a vocalist myself and would love to get better.
Eluveitie is Swiss, they're singing Gaulish (sometimes dubbed Gaelic Celtic), the girl at 3:40 plays a Hurdy Gurdy, and you should definitely check out more of their songs; like Omnos, Inis Mona or Ategnatos. ;)
Probably people already told you, but: - I LOVED you guessed it was "Celtic-y" before you listened. - The language is reconstructed Gaulish language. - The instrument you mean, it's the hurdy-gurdy. Pretty popular in European Folk Metal and Pagan Folk bands. - This song belongs to their second acoustic album, "Evocation II - Pantheon", in which each song is devoted to one Gaulish deity, Epona (probably meaning "Great Mare"), is a goddess of horses, cavalry, beasts of burden, fertility and sovereignty (despite being worshipped in farms and so, according to various authors of the time, she was deemed "Rigana", Queen). - Their songs are usually more metal, from melodic, sweet/dark tunes that are led by female voice, to death metal-ish songs (with folk instruments still) where harsh vocals are exclusive, or combines with female vocals. Great video, Beth, I really enjoyed this one!
I saw Eluveitie live in Brisbane in a really small venue and Jesus Fucking Christ that was the best show I've ever been to. They were absolutely phenomenal and Fabienne was goddamn flawless for the entire set.
Tommy Karevik is more expressive in his other band Seventh Wonder than he is in Kamelot. He tries to sound like Roy Khan while he's singing in Kamelot, in my opinion.
Have you considered reviewing Cellar Darling? Lead vocalist is Anna Murphy, Eluveitie's former female lead singer. The band consists of the former members before Eluveitie had broken up.
Eluveitie - A rose for Epona Eluveitie - The Call of the mountains Both with their ex-singer/hurdy gurdist Anna Murphy currently in Cellar Darling Cellar Darling - Challenge
I so enjoy your, reactions, Beth. Especially when it's to a band like Eluveitie, whom I thoroughly enjoy, myself. Though this was a great performance by them, I was disappointed in the quality of the recording. Like you noted, it sounded like some of the instruments weren't mic'd, or something, which took away from the richness of the music. I'd love to see you react to some more of their music. How about something that really shows more of a mix of metal and folk? How about Rebirth? That was the song I was introduced to them with, and it blew me away!
I have two recommendations for you: Anything with Lzzy Hale live for that hard rock sound and power. Algema by Allamedah which is a fusion with traditional Portuguese fado. Very interesting sound with a particular Iberian passion.
Which festival is that? I saw Eluveitie a few months ago here in Auckland and I had a blast! Fantastic music! Btw, your patreons really know what good music is.
Beth, I think you are an excellent Vocal Coach & thanks so much for being so kind to all the Rock & Metal singers you’ve reacted to, whom I absolutely love (i.e. Bruce Dickinson, Dave Mustaine, Layne Staley R.I.P.🙏, etc.). How many #SebastianBach #fans do we have on here who would love to see/hear Beth Roars react to 1 of his songs? He is the former #SkidRow #LeadSinger & absolute #BestSinger that band ever had & he has been doing his own solo thing for several years now with his very own #awesome #SoloBand, that is honestly WAY better than Skid Row, imho. Beth, Why are you ignoring me? I’m a lead & rhythm guitarist of 30yrs now & I also sing & play a little piano. All I’m simply requesting is - May you please🙏do a Vocal Coach Reaction to Sebastian Bach - Kicking & Screaming? Here’s the Official Video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xKOruHhpAiQ.html&app=m&persist_app=1. Will you please see & hear it?🙏I promise you if you do this, you have my word, I will not even ask you for anything else, since Sebastian Bach is my all time #favorite #Rock & #Metal lead singer & I know in my heart you will love his voice.
I'm watched all of videos here in RU-vid. I don't care about the negativity of your comment about the. I'm watch you because I love the way you smile. Is that the primary reason that I watch you. And also I like the accents of your voice.😍😍😍😍
Huh. I thought this was their concert from this years Summer Breeze, but the vid was uploaded before the festival. I might've been able to spot me. But it seems like it's from 2017. I missed that because we drank to much at our camp. Hate it when that happens. We just lost track of time.
You really need to evaluate "Wake Up" by Tilian. It's a hidden masterpiece of vocal excellence. Using classic phrasing with new. It literally brings me to tears how perfect he can push emotions.
I've seen Eluveitie live in Norway. I'm lucky. I really like their music. Folk metal is awesome. I am fond of the mix between clean vocals and guttural screams and so on. I'm more into screaming vocals when it comes to Eluveitie.
Siento que es de tus mas grandes reacciones ratoncito nunca te ví tan emocionada bien 👏👏🍀🍀 por cierto as visto a mi hermosa pelirroja la estraño mucho ratoncito 💜💙❣️
Yes - a reaction video for Insomnia live - Anna Murphy is great / sings like an angel, plays flute like a pea pod pixie and hurdy gurdy like a wild Celt on mushrooms.
Try Elulveitie - Call of the Mountain. Anna Murphy was their original female singer and played the Hurdy Gurdy. When she left, they got two people to replace her. The new singer in the video you just watched and a new Hurdy Gurdy player. The new singer is great but I Love Anna! 😁
Very Cool to see that you Featured Eluveitie..! 1. The Girl is playing a Hurdy Gurdy... 2) Most of Eluveitie songs are sang in the Goulish language (Since most of Eluveitie songs are song about Goulish lore. Both the People and their history!) Or sang in English, or Swiss-Germany. Go back and listen to songs like "Rose of Epona", Quote the Raven" or Thousandfold".! Back when Eluveitie had most of it core members... this video of Eluveitie only has the 1 original member left... the Male vocalist and creator if the band.
Yes Don, that instrument is indeed the Hurdy Gurdy. I'm drawing a blank at name, but the front man is the main singer, so this song is not typical of vocals. About 20% of their songs are female sang. Ellundron (I know I didn't spell it right) is a killer song that Beth needs to do.
The darkness reactiom! I can't believe that internet does not have a reaction of this guys! The dinger has a prety fantastic high notes, who reach whit facility, and vivratto and fry screams
The language they're using is the extinct language Gaulish. The instrument you asked about is a Hurdy Gurdy. That guy with dreadlocks and a growl to peal paint is the main vocalist. I'm a bit of a fan 🤣🤘
PLEASE checkout out German Gothic Metal band Powerwolf and their songs Stossgebet, Killers with the Cross and Sactified with Dynamite. Great band with a great classically trained vocalist
Wow, I'm really excited for you to do this band. Their name is my username on most platforms(misspelled slightly). So, you can say I'm a big fan. Thank you!
