Floor's dramatic build up over the length of this song and her theatrical talent is so beautiful and adept. How did such a gentle beginning turn into such an emotional freight train? An old guy says thanks. Ciao!
3 versions have their best unique elements to make the song perfect like their own song: 1) dimash : different arrangement and structure, he raises keys and belting after belting after belting with all mixed and whistle, vocal extreme at its craziness with changing key in the middle of long hold note.He is young and super well trained and the passion with emotion he has on stage from the man perspective of the song( on his knees, grind the stage) . Technically, he has the most difficult version of the song. 2) lara: make the song popular and introduce its beauty to the world. She is the the woman deep in lyrics that delivers every word beautifully and acting and many experiences in the song. 3) Floor: she is versatile singer like Dimash. But she sings it similar arrangement as Lara’s version. She makes the song emotional and effortless singing. Very similar to Lara’s versiob but she brings some rock elements to it. She did the song nicely!!!
Floor's makes you believe she *means* what she's saying. Dimash is overcooking the song. It's all about HIM. I watched the original music video of Lara's, and I didn't get any emotion from her. Maybe I'll try a live version.
@@ChrisPage68 I am surprised that you say you feel nothing from Lara. 😨😲😲. To me, Lara is the masterclass of singing. Watched her concert, she is so good
Art is a matter of taste yattidy yattidy opinions are fine etc etc However, it is by no means either a fact or a well-evidenced opinion that Floor has more "color" to her voice than Fabian or Dimash. And I can't personally bear to listen to Dimash. 🤣 There is no way one can listen to Fabian's version of this from her live From Lara With Love Concert and conclude that she had less color than Floor's version here. Now, I admire Floor, and I think given prep time, she could do much better than this with this song. Hopefully by committing wholly to the very Fabian-like path she follows here OR by committing fully to taking it in a new direction. The orchestration + overly loud mix - full commitment to a harder vocal approach assured it didn't "work" here.
@@DoggieFosters I don't think she will, because it's not her role. She was just having fun and challenging herself, as a singer I am I do that often. I don't think she will or she wants to sing this song in a future concert... Dimash is great, but the only song I really enjoy from him is S.O.S, on the other songs he sounds boring. Lara is always great, but her vocal style doesn't allow her to be more versatile and add more colors in her voice. She sounds the same in every song, including when covered vision of love and I will always love you... it doesn't mean that she is not great, because she is, but she's not versatile as Floor or even Dimash.
Well you wrong so much.. Have a look at her performing requiem four un fou, yentl medley, i will love again, dite mois porque je t aimè..par Amour You wrong so much... Lara is a camaleont
Floor is not whining there. And she don't need to be. She's strong, so she's only anticipating. And then she disappears in the shadows. Great! Floor herself has taught us that the singing power comes from our belly. And that big mouth is a advance for a singer. Floor's mouth is bigger and the most beautiful i've ever seen 😵😅. (And it's Marko, who resigned. Great loss anyway 💔)
Without the maestro, who would compose? Tuomas is the genius behind the music; Marko will be a loss like Jukka, but I have faith. I hope, most of all, that Marko finds the peace he is looking for. Depression is hard enough, I can't imagine touring too.
Someone mentioned she performed it on her husband s Hannes birthday and the big smiles and love expressions to the camera was to him when he was filming. Every time i watch this video now that makes me smile and feel good even more. :) no matter if it’s true or not.
Such a great cover, the original is fantastic and Floor did the honors. As others have pointed out, the bass player and second vocalist Marko is the one who resigned. Tuomas is the keyboardist and main composer so if he leaves the band is definitely over, but that's hopefully not happening. They will replace Marko for now with a session bassist for the tour. If you want to do more songs from them take anything from the Wacken 2013 show that you have not done.
Easily one of my favorite covers by Floor, it showcases very well the abilities of Floor and kept the raw side she has as well. To do a Lara song is not something every singer can do, you'll need some serious pipes and skills to pull of those songs. Thnx for the upload Valerie :)
@@ChrisPage68 when Floor shows off her voice with growl and metal element to this POP song, you guys think she doesn’t . And when Dimash sang it in the COMPETITION, of course he has to show off what he has and rearrange the song to fit his extreme vocals to the audiences and judges to get vote. One is studio version from Floor, one is live version in competition from Dimash. You guys just ignored the contexts and just targeted to Dimash because his insane vocal. And of course, all of them sang this song with emotions!
@@alixghandour yes. “ extraordinary” is the perfect word. I agree.😉. Ordinary people , who are familiar with ordinary music, cannot absorb his extraordinary vocals, when they feel something out of the human’s possibility, they are confused and start to hate! :)
I watched a video with Floor and Lara side by side with notes, and they are not that much different... Very nice video and nice reaction... Floor adds more dramatic, but they are pretty close... Lara is awesome too..
Thanks for posting. If you have a second, I posted a cover of Ed Sheeran. As a fellow music lover, I'd love if you would take a listen. It's on my channel. Hope you like it!
If Tuomas would leave, then it's the end of Nightwish because he's the person who has written almost all of their songs, the one who left is Marko the bass player. While I'm sad about Marko's leaving, there are already rumours of his replacement, who might be bassist and metal singer Jarkko Ahola who is known for his operatic voice. There are quite a few videos about Jarkko, for example here he sings "Nessun Dorma" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GtcI3yxvq0w.html "Adagio" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cBaqab0Tmn4.html and "Alone" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9wXc780wWWc.html Although his joining to Nightwish is still only a speculation, it would be interesting to hear a professional opinion if his voice would compliment Floor voice.
that's what happens when floor sings a cover by another artist DISPLACE THE ORIGINAL VERSION adagio for floor already has more views than for lara fabian and that's what lara's does much longer. It's unique, it's great, the best vocalist in history
This is not really a cover from Fabian! The peace, music and lyrics, was originally written by Remo Giazotto (1919-1998). This dude claimed the music was based on unfinished work from the renowned composer Albinoni of which he found the partitures after a WW2 bombing in 1945... later it became clear that he (Remo) wrote the intire thing himself and Albinoni had nothing to do with it...😊 The piece has since then been interpreted and performed by many singers (even The Doors recorded an adaptation) and often used as moviescore.
I'm sorry - as much as I like Floor - this isn't her song and she doesn't pull it off. She's trying to use Lara's "tricks" but doesn't get away with it. But covering and even trying to surpass Lara is quite a hopeless task! I think Floor can do better than this!
How about a nice long reaction to the insanely difficult Papa Can You Hear Me/Piece of Sky cover Lara Fabian did? *down on knees grovelling* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fwrR9Feb0kg.html
If you haven't already you should really react to this one, Tommy Körberg and Celice Dion sings beauty and the beast, it's both very beatiful and very funny, the reaction on Celines face when Tommy goes at it is priceless! Greetings from Sweden :) www.dailymotion.com/video/x3222v4
Valerie, thankyou for putting this reaction forward it and Floor are magnificent. I am going to suggest you listen to the original " Adagio '' by Albinoni done by Styepan Hauser on cello and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra ... if you haven't heard it you won't be disappointed. Peace
I was surprised at how closely, phrase by phrase, this hewed to Fabian's choices. I admit I miss a lot of the ornamented dynamic choices within phrases and the wide open cathedral sound without heaviness of the end belting sections in Fabian's live version(s).
Smart choice! Sometimes less is more. There are songs that you can play with the melody line, but Adagio is a song that you can't change. It needs to be sing the way it should be sing. The only thing you can do is add some texture, as she did: a little bit of screaming and distortion, but that's it. If you try to do something different, as the Dimash did, you really have a great chance to mess up with the song. That's why it's so similar, and you can see that Lara did the same when she covered Vision of Love from Mariah Carey. Lucky we have the same song for different tastes!
The first cover she has done where i didnt even know the original song. Now i think of it as mainly Floors song😍She dressed up like a fairytale princess for this one😍I hope Marko returns when he has had the time he needs on his own. He has some honest and hard hitting sticks to the music industry wich i admire him for,the part that worries me is his chronic depression. I can relate to how difficult that must be in times like theese, with a pandemic still roaming this planet.
To have a point of reference, I went and listened to Lara's version. While awesome, I love Floor's version a tiny bit more. She's the only singer who can make me shed a tear with just one note, and she did it here multiple times.
Dimash is all about vocal range (which, granted is impressive). That's why he has to resort to cheap stunts like "spontaneous" knee drops, to fake emotions. None of the 2 ladies need that. They just let the song do the work.
muito bom !!! your hair looks like "Maria Bethânia's". Todo prateado !!! ◙◙◙ Eu sou fã da Lara Fabian, mas gostei muito dessa interpretação, até porque uma música tão bonita merece ser cantada por todas as mais belas vozes.
Vocal teacher, You may be right in terms of technicalities but IMHO Floor's drawing room rendition was a flop. Why publish a weak "copy" of a Lara Fabian song? Why sing it with a fixed smile, as if she understood nothing of the lyrics? For me, it was the vocal equivalent of a rainy day "doodle". Surprising from Floor who has skill and experience, to just do a repeat. Adagio was not for her. Technically her r breath. control is not as good as Lara's and her voice became shrill and difficult to hear (like Dimash) at the climax.
Simply because she is a vocal coach and her job is to explain how the vocal technique works, and that is independent of the singer and the genre. Copy? I don't think so, I just like to think that Floor likes to challenge herself and for my taste I liked it. Two different versions of the same song, so we can pick which one is best for ourselves. If you felt she was cold, well, that's up to you, not me. Lara Fabian did inumerous cover songs as well, and she did great singing Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, so yes, she also did covers, some of them are good, some of them don't...
@@carlosjj662 Thought you might be interested in this comment on Richie Havens singing Here Comes the Sun from the Beatles. I concur with it. "This man, though he mostly performed covers.. almost always made versions that were as good or better, and ALWAYS different from the the original. Look at his ease of singing and the effectiveness of his approach in creating a totally energetic and exciting performance. That's a mark of genius. There's a selflessness in his commitment to the song ( not to himself) ."
I think its absolutely insane that people are trying to compare this to the queen of resonance. Plus Lara's version was live in front of a live audience. Everytime Lara sings its a masterclass.
The original Lara version is also a video and playback during filming, but both (Floor's and Lara's) are sung by Floor and Lara. That is how music videos are made. What is your point? Just admit you simply like Lara's version more and don't make up lots of reasons to explain it.
@@andymill8552 I've seen Lara fabian singing Adágio live and there are tons of live videos on RU-vid, that's my point. My comment it's very clear about my preference.
@@PauloBono1978 So you pretend that Floor sings this in a concert in the middle of the pandemic? Of course live is better but this is what we have for now. Your comment was just pointless.
...Her lower register seems richer than her upper, which seems a little thin... a little H.M. like towards the end...nice overall ...nice take on the song. her voice ...not to my taste... if her upper gets better I could like her very much...
@@mollygoodwin6670 no ...i'm not ...but ...head voice ...should be lite, not thin ...when the voice is lite, it will still have a vocial body, ...hence not thin...

@@draco_bane Well in that case i strongly suggest looking at the Dutch show 'De beste zangers ' where she performs among other songs the Phantom and Vilja lied. It's a show where Dutch singers sing songs for each other. I'm curious if you like her performance and you will get acquainted with the other singers especially Henk Poort who is an opera singer...
