Deejay is touring with HAMILTON which is performing in Florida, so he had some time to do this with VoicePlay. Deejay has done other covers with them. Man In The Mirror, Butter, Bang! and You're My Best Friend.

Congratulations on releasing your first song! This is an updated version of the song VP performed live at Disney World as recentlyas 2019, with videos going back to at least 2015 with Earl and Tony. Geoff changed some of the lyrics each year, like Eli asking for tickets to The Last Jedi. Geoff does the hair poof gesture when he asks for the green dress instead of an arabesque... which is even funnier now that I know he dislikes green clothing of any kind. Kathy put him in a green shirt for a Christmas mini (with Cesar's brother) and within days he donated it to the VP charity auction.

Ever since Geoff wore a woman’s flowery blouse in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” he feels way more comfortable identifying with his feminine self!!! Yay Geoff! 😂 👩 👧 🚺

FYI- pay closer to the intro before the lights come up - it's homage to the original song, which is actually in 3/4. And yes ... Layne has been slaying them bells for some time - check out VP's White Christmas.

Geoff took the old live version of the song they used to perform at Walt Disney World (hence the Tinkerbell and topical joke lyrics) and totally revamped it, adding that gorgeous original bridge he composed. They did the Hamilton lyric because Deejay is currently with the Angelica touring company, playing many different roles, including Hamilton and Burr. He's performed with VoicePlay on Butter, You're My Best Friend, Bang!, Man in the Mirror, and the VoicePlay Minis: Mr. Sandman and The Simpsons Theme.

So glad to see you react to Voiceplay again! They did a great cover of O Little Town of Bethlehem when they were short a baritone, Geoff does baritone and bass on that one, it's beautiful. O Holy Night with Rachel Potter is gorgeous! And Have Yourself Merry Little Christmas! Geoff did God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen last year, the arrangement is beautiful and complex.

And Geoff did Mele Kelikimaka two years ago with the American Sirens. I grew up, listening to Bing and The Andrews Sisters doing it so it was a wonderful trip down memory lane. BTW, the blonde in the Sirens is married to EJ Cardona, Omar’s big bro and the other two have appeared in the Villains Lair series put on by PattyCake Productions, owned by Layne and prior BVP baritone Tony Wakim.

VoicePlay is so talented and I just love it when they come out to play and have fun. As awesome as Cesar, Eli and Geoff are I really have to give kudos to Layne in a lot of their last songs. His vocal percussion is really hitting a new level. As for DeeJay, if it weren't for his contract with Hamilton he'd more than likely be the 5th member. He actually can do 6 parts in Hamilton including the lead. His runs are insane and there's one in Bang! that will make your jaw drop. Side note on the sheet music: it went up in one of the charity auctions they've been having like a lot of their costumes and set pieces have lately.

I had the Chipmunks Christmas record in 1981, so I've had a deep love for this song my whole life! This is such a fun version. Deejay is crazy, crazy good! If you are still feeling acapella-y, Voctave has a ton of holiday songs to pick from.
