I'm really happy that you simply picked the bike up twice and explained the staircase aspect, I wasn't sure what to think when they stated 70lbs!

Same here, only a few more pounds to drop lol. I just ordered mine a couple of days ago. You must have yours by now; how are you liking it?

@@paintslinger70 Hi John...I love it so far....i have over 200 kms on it to date. The most i have put on it in one day has been 40 kms. The battery indicator dropped one notch . I mostly use the battery assist and rarely use battery alone, but someday soon im going to go a long distance and try the battery alone on the return leg. the large tires make the bike very solid on the road. I am 6 foot and im just tall enough for that bike, i have to be careful when im stopping and be ready to lay the bike a little to one side .my stomach has been going down, i just have to get back on track and stay away from night snacks, my goal is to lose over 30 lbs...let me know how u like your bike..cheers

Thanks for the reply! Glad to know that you are still enjoying the bike. I'm on week two of the wait - I'm sure my order will have been delayed due to the heat wave, and now Canada Day. I'm 6'2" and I was worried the bike might be only just big enough, considering the specs. I also went for the bigger battery and I'm planning to eventually buy a spare. I'm expecting to have to buy a more (ahem) "comfortable" seat lol. I do have a fair amount of weight to drop, but primarily I need to get outside again. My already considerable health issues have been compounded by all the lockdown nonsense, and this might just be my ticket back to a more enjoyable life. I'm excited to get out on some trails and do some fishing, and just be outside.

Nice. I saw a review of a 2016 model and it looks like all the gripes have been resolved on the newer ones. The 768wh capacity is right on, too. Maybe $2000 isn't as much money as a I think it is...

Thanks for commenting Silent Sword. If you compare it to other bikes at this price you will find always something not as good or no fenders etc... My friend has been saving $50 a week in gas and after a season of riding it pays for almost half the bike. And it is a lot of fun to ride.

Now that the bike is a couple years old a few questions: 1. What is a realistic battery range to expect. Could a confident 50-60 km range (what I want) on one charge be expected or maybe more? 2. How about the handlebar gear change and derailleur.. is it holding up, does it change smoothly on the long term, or needs lots of adjustment or just replace it for a better one? 3. The Kenda tires.. do they puncture easily, or a tire upgrade for puncture resistance a good idea? I really hate blown tires.. 4. Any quality or reliability issues appeared since new?

Yea those cables underneath need to be protected. Need to redesign or have a bash plate designed to protect them! Super vulnerable area.

MARTIN WOOLDRIDGE We have in Canada a 500 watt limit. In the states it’s 750 watts.

@@GearGadgetsandGizmos In the UK it's 250W and 15mph limit hence you have to terminally brain dead to buy one, and their as rare as space aliens. At least we have free health care, and lightweight bikes.

other then telling me to lose weight what suggestions do you have regarding do's and don't's, potential pitfalls and what to look for when considering this ebike at 6'3" AND 300#. THANKS
@GearGadgetsandGizmos
@GearGadgetsandGizmos 6 лет назад
Hello, g Vs I would suggest getting the Yukon with the 20-inch frame and simply start using it. Try to go daily and use less peddle assistance. I bet with a few slight changes to your diet you will lose some weight. Since you are a heavier load the range will be less than average. When riding, the spokes are actually stretching and loosening. So you will have to get your bike serviced more often.

@GearGadgetsandGizmos
@GearGadgetsandGizmos 5 лет назад
Hello, Glacier Ski Club. The 20 inch is good for people 5.7 to 6.4 and the 17 inch is good for people 5.3 to 5.10. You are right in the middle and I think it comes down to what you like. I am 5.9 and the Yukon 20 inch is comfortable but it is a lot of bike. I have not tried the 17 inch Yukon but I think it may be better for someone that has shorter legs and is a little older or not as confident of a rider. Hope that helps.

Great video. Just a question, how far can you get on a charge on pavement?
@GearGadgetsandGizmos
@GearGadgetsandGizmos 6 лет назад
Thanks for commenting Guan Yu. It depends how much peddling and how much power you use. ESTIMATED MIN RANGE: 15 miles (24 km) ESTIMATED MAX RANGE: 35 miles (56 km)

What has your experience been with getting this volt bike as it gave you any issues has the company gave you any issues?
@GearGadgetsandGizmos
@GearGadgetsandGizmos 5 лет назад
Hello Ms Sorrowful sheep. It did take about three weeks to get the Yukon back in July. Depending on the time of year the time can vary when you get your bike. As for the company, they are very good but I do here sometimes they do not answer emails so I would suggest calling directly. My friend has almost 1000 Km on his Yukon and has had no problems.

@@GearGadgetsandGizmos Please pin this so others can know that Volt company can be trusted. Thank you Gizmo but i know one that swearing and cursing the company. :( Is this in UK or in Aus? No problems on charger? Or other issue as another youtube say one of his part broke? And charger not charging properly? Do you know why?
@GearGadgetsandGizmos
@GearGadgetsandGizmos 5 лет назад
@@sorrowinchrist3387 Sometimes there are issues and generally, they will get you the parts. The charger that comes with it is a simple charger and if you have a few E-bikes it might be better to buy a programmable charger. Not sure why it would be giving you troubles. I have heard they sometimes do not get back to you. That is why I say call directly. I am in Canada not sure how promptly they get you parts in UK or Aus.

Someone else have the same bike and have issue with charger so perhaps faulty parts. Do you recommend these bikes over limited speed bikes?
