Wagyu F1 - The Most Controversial Wagyu Steak in the World

A memorable visit to Teppanyaki Minami with excellent tasting Wagyu F1 Steak - Wagyu F1 refers to 50:50 crossbred Wagyu with Angus or Simmentaler. So, calling it Angus F1 would be similarly correct, or even more correct: Angyu, Wagus or even Simmen牛 (Simmengyu). While "Wagyu F1" provides a better Teppanyaki steak experience than A5 Wagyu Ribeye Steak which can be too fatty, "Wagyu F1" is much cheaper and hasn't good a good reputation.

It’s the little things this chef does that makes me love watching him. His knife work is so surgically precise that it’s mind blowing. When he cuts the second shrimp, he’s so fast and accurate that he made the butterfly cut and was on to something else before the shrimp opened up from the perfect slice. I watched that little part like 7 times 😂

The most controversial steak: Full-Blood American Wagyu. 50/50 F1 wagyu is great, but it's more like extra premium Angus. Which is great since it has a beefier flavor. But Full-Blood American wagyu is more controversial since it really comes down to how the cattle are raised. Australian also just as if not more controversial.

@LiamFranklinFarang
@LiamFranklinFarang 3 месяца назад
@@ahoorakia The irony is that the English name for the breed is Japanese Black. So you could say it's American-Japanese Black cow, but how does that make sense using the same logic? 😉 Either way, it's highly marbled and great tasting beef. Yet people don't seem to give it the respect it deserves
@ahoorakia

Finally, a fried rice that actually looks good instead of the usual white rice + a but of garlic but no oil, no eggs or even a bit of beef and charging, idk, 300 usd for the meal. Maybe I am used to Chinese fried rice and the Japanese makes theirs differently, but too many places have been ripping Aden off with their pale, dry and tasteless fried rice.

There are plenty of teppanyaki places in the LA area. Just do an Apple Maps search or a Google search. Most of the ones I’ve been to are influenced by the Benihana “show” style of cooking, but the food is still fine, if you can look past the flames and clatter of knives. Personally, I’d rather not have the show and just get the food. The real trick is finding wagyu, as not all places go beyond Angus Prime (which is still tasty, don’t get me wrong).

I have heard that in the USA waiters are comparatively underpaid, so a good tip is expected and a small one frowned upon, to say the least as they literally count on them for a decent income. In any case it is good to see such professionals prepare and serve the meal right in front of the customer with such precision. This means they are sufficiently confident in their skills. I would guess they are well paid by their employer and need not rely on tips.
