What Morph saw was an indication of feelings for Wolverine, the nightmare was that the version of Wolverine recognised it and REFERRED to it for the first time. Remember what nightmare Wolverine says? Something along the lines of “As if we don’t know”. Madelyne recognised Morph’s desires for Wolverine and Morph’s intense fear of being outed, and used it against Morph. Same way she used Gambit’s fears of being rejected by Rogue over Magneto.

it's not that far of a stretch to say Morph has feelings for Logan. How is he supposed to feel about a man who traveled all over to find him, try to help him, and bring him home?? I think this show handles love triangles really well. Most writers tend to fumble over how the characters feel about each other and tend to focus more on how the audience is supposed to feel about the characters; they resort to pinning the two potential male leads against each other instead of focusing on steaks of both relationships, the plot surrounding the characters, and how the characters feel about it. I knew as soon as Madelyne Pryor was revealed to be a clone they were going do something with the fact Wolverine has feelings for Jean and Jean is a telepath who knows that. What I didn't expect was the unreciprocated feelings from Morph, his best friend, who constantly teases him about his crush on Jean, and Madelyne rubbing it in his face the writing is *chef's kiss* can't wait for more honestly

Probably. It’s certainly hinted at. And I doubt Wolverine is interested. Much like how Jean is very aware Logan has feelings for her, but she also has no interest. Wolverine has been generally totally straight in the comics. In the Ultimate X-Men, Colossus (who was gay in this universe) tried to tell Wolverine about his feelings for him when they were in a changing room together, and Wolverine very quickly told him to keep his feelings to private. I wouldn’t be surprised if the scene in 97 was a callback to the comic scene, showing pretty much the same thing. The only time Wolverine has been gay was with Hercules. It was super fun and a nice isolated situation. But I honestly don’t think we should expect Wolverine to play for another team any time soon. And as a gay man, I don’t want him to either. I want the character to stay authentic to himself in the comics. Morph is a totally different story. In the comics, he would present in a womanly shape equally as he would a masculine shape, and what we see in 97 is incredibly toned down and subtle by comparison. I’m happy with what we’ve gotten so far however in this new season.

I mean, the animators put Magneto, a 70+ year old by the time of 1997 (considering he was a teen during ww2) wearing a speedo. This is the least weird this show can go. It can go either way, Morph can see Wolverine as a potential partner, or a brother.
