@joaopadua7134 True, but Rend and Maim and their troops *almost* killing Cho'Gal is canon. Heck, it's probably where his big X scar came from until Blizzard got lazy and left the scar on his AU model.
19:06 I see the modders went with the very cool idea of Rend and Maim's near-killing of Cho'Gal putting the X on his chest that was in Cata. And rightly ignored Blizzard copping out and putting it on his WoD model.
His WoD model was very lazy, he shouldn't have been so hulked and have rocky things on his body. Even a generic Ogre Mage model he had in the beta would have fit him more.
What a faithful recreation of the Warcraft III Night Elf mission map! Also the dialogues between Blackhands and Cho'gall are hilarious, as well as the Void-ified Tomb of Sargeras (K'tanth returning to its roots?).
While Rend and Maim and their clan were indeed dispatched to deal with Gul'dan, Zuluhead was not. I'm sure I'm misremembering, but I'm not sure anyone else was sent with them. Something I forgot to mention on the previous video was the death knights, and Gorefiend, stayed loyal to the Horde. Ogrim questioned Teron what he would do, and whether out of true loyalty or knowing whst would happen otherwise, Teron said Guldan had betrayed the Horde but he would not. Drak'thul would remain on thst isle for decades, haunted by the ghosts of the orce he betrayed. Another great recreation of a classic cinematic. While inside... Well, I'm sure we'll see. Wow. Lore dump. So, the sister mentioned was named Griselda, Blackhands daughter who pursued a relationship with an ogre despite her father's wishes and he ordered the player (technically Doomhammer) to hunt her down and kill her. The Blackhand brothers were indeed magically aged as well, when the Horde needed more warriors for the war on Draenor the warlocks used fel magic to age up a number of orcish kids to add to their armies. On the topic of old gods, there's a quest in Shadowmoon Valley where you see and stop a number if the aarakokra from summoning something that uses C'thun's model. It's been a point of speculation for a while that even Draenor had its own old gods, or they were somehow linked. Cho'gal would indeed survive, and the scar seen on his belly in Cataclysm is the wound he sudtained here. Interestingly, his mutstions would actually come later in canon, blessings from the old gods as he worked against the new guardian Med'an.... But, guven that's Med'an canon, I'm okay with this change. I can't wait to see what happens next.
A huge portion of the Dragonmaw were sent after Gul'dan as the dragonriders were the ones most likely toncatch up to him. I don't remember for sure if thr Dragonmaw went.
The entire missions and lore were created because in WC2 and later Starcraft blizzard mandated that you had to fight each race at least once in the campaign, including mirror matches. WC3 was the first time they departed with that idea.
Blackrock, Stormreavers and Twilight's Hammer orc skeletons. I think they just lumped them together as Blackrock to mark all forces loyal to Doomhammer.
2:30 I just realize that this map is the exact position as Maiv’s base and map when she arrived in the Broken Isles hunting Illidan in the future, but older and creepier…….wow, thats some serious dedication!😆🤓⚔️🖤
1:11 It's because the ruins used to be the Highborne Elves, predecessors of the High Elves, who were once dominant race of Azeroth with a massive empire under Azhara before the War of the Ancients happened.
The fight was awesome, but I am slightly bothered: How the hell did two orcs manage to beat a powerful ogre magi pumped to the brim with Old Gods powers? I feel like Cho’Gall even without the amp could beat them with magic alone.
@@kiennguyentrong1897 Cho'gall is a powerful mage, plus a strong melee warrior, but not enough to defeat two stronger melee fighters, I guess. The battle is made in regards to the actual story of WC2 where Cho'gall doesn't die, but rather escapes the Broken Isle and goes to serve the Old Gods. In that regards, I am hoping to see Maim surprised to see Cho'gall isn't lying on the ground to collect his heads when they escape the tomb in next chapter...
While powerful, they are not invincible. If this was an open fight with both sides having normal units at their disposal, I would just say that they got overwhelmed by superior numbers of forces sent by Doomhammer, while from the other side Gul'dan and his Stormreavers were ripped to shreds by demons.
3:54 Is Drak'thul the same Orc Warlock encountered by Maiev Shadowsong during her pursuit of Illidan Stormrage on the island where Tomb of Sargeras is in Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne?
its been established in lore that these first generation death knights are only loyal to themselves and whatever individual goal each one of them has. they only followed Gul'dan in the first place probably because they where tolerated and not killed by the horde because they where useful.
He made them to be secretly loyal to him. But they were too powerfull and ended up being only loyal to themselves. Indeed they kickstarted the BTDP campaign by offering Ner'Zhul the help of opening new portals to new worlds, in exchange for one of this conquered world to be gifted to them to rule it as they saw fit
Warlocks all vied for control between each other and I would guess some of them considered the idea of betraying Doomhammer to be crazy. They already died once for crossing him and didn't want to waste their second lease on life, such as it was.
Holy fuck that music in the last Cho'gall phase from the warbringers film couldn't be any more terrifying and epic. I got a bug in the second phase sadly so couldn't proceed :( :(
I think they play that theme in the beginning area for Draenei aswell,,, the part when you met some shipwrecked humans, dwarf and elf on azuremyst island.
Wonder, it is more of a Chronicle type of campaign right? As if mostly canon - not with, You can win the war by either side like in case of original Warcraft 1-2 campaigns?
It's weirdly had a lot more Alliance cities fall compared to the original canon, and ESPECIALLY compared to the book canon, but the Alliance is going to bounce back.
@@DIEGhostfish i did heard someone state about W2 campaigns that Orc missions were first and they all but last won and then Alliance campaign kicks in with bounce back. How far fetched is that?
Cho'Gall's transformation isn't quite lore-accurate, though. At this point of the timeline, he shouldn't have any relationships with the Old Gods. Not yet, at least. I hope this campaign concludes with the original (albeit non-canonical) ending, where the Horde wins the war and conquers the whole continent.
Originally it seemed to be Cho'Gal turned to the old gods after Rend and Maim almost killed him. But WoD and Chronicle had him serving the Void Lords, the power behind the Old Gods since his time on Draenor. In fact they had him reach out to the various Old God servants and... basically negotiated a lease of Blackrock Spire from Ragnaros. I'm not 100% in favor of this lore, I actually hate the Void Lords being the power behind the Old Gods, but having hi somewhat connected to them works okay.
@@DIEGhostfish - Aaah, another of Blizzard's countless retcons. Well, what I described was the original lore from the days when WC2 was first released. Void Lords and even Old Gods weren't a thing back then ;)
