Sapp was my husband's favorite player of all time. My husband died in 2020 and a friend recently send me and old pic of him in a Sapp jersey. That made me come here and watch this doc!
Greatness recognizes greatness. But seriously, it's a relationship that con only happen through competition. Whether it's Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward or Bird and Magic, 2 men competing with everything they have at the highest level of their craft and still respecting their opponents is a beautiful thing.
Those two love each other because of there love of the game at there positions. And there want to be the best at it . And they went at each other harder then they did anyone else but in a respectful way .

It's impossible for me to watch this video of the great Warren Sapp and say Brady is any more than the greatest of the pu$$y era that he ushered in with his whimpering and whining. Most of Sapp's intimidating just after pass hits we just saw would have been roughing calls in this "all about the betting lines" NFL. Hurricane #1 of all time is Ray Lewis for not abandoning the program when NCAA sanctions sent most of the U's top talent scrambling for the transfer portals but the #1 football player to ever don a Hurricane's uniform (and this includes QB JK), is Warren Sapp; one of the 22 best players to ever play the game.
I used to hate Warren Sapp when he played because I thought he didn't respect the game. He was the game, he was everything good about the game. I respect the Man and his NFL legacy.
Sapp's body type is SO unassuming... but his sheer speed, agility, and just athleticism and tenacity... his drive and effort he put in down after down... he was an AMAZING defensive player and presence... he just didn't look like he would be able to do what he did do on a continuous basis. @@nathanjk03 not on the same magnitude as Sapp. Randle was a terror and obviously a problem for farve and the Packers, I don't doubt that farve and randle had their moments, but Sapp vs farve was must see tv.

Start to maybe respect him then he cheap shots Chad Clifton. That’s ridiculous. He didn’t need to do that. Clifton wouldn’t have done anything. And as much as I criticize Mike Sherman for not winning a SB with such a talented Packers team, his reaction made me like him.

The Favre/Sapp dynamic is why I love football. Men can go to war with each other, beat each other up, and still come out the other side with love and respect for one another. Can't wait for September!
@@blazinbuc99 sapp is nowhere near 6'3.. I've seen him in person side by side along with my cousin who is also 6'3 and can clearly tell they were not the same height.. Not even close... Sapp was shorter..

There was a guy called Keith Millard who played for the vikes in the late 80's I think. Also John Randle of the vikes. Other than that.....I can't think of anyone as good and certainly not better rushing the passer from the interior
Warren Sapp is insanely underrated. At 53 years young playing the game myself , college level , I've had the privilidge of watching the greats at Defensive Tackle of the 70's, 80's , 90's and today's game. Warren Sapp was a freak of Nature, built like a Rhinoceros but quike as a Cat. A pass rushing threat from the inside . For a few years having more QB sacks than the leading Defensive End. The closest to that was Randy White, Randle McDaniel and Aaron Donald today....

The man made Pro Bowls, All-Pro, Hall of Fame, while being one of the most high profile athletes...not just football players...for years. It makes you sound STUPID when someone always comes with that "underrated" nonsense.
@@ThomasFromTNculturally, the common man might not know Sapp like they do Favre. The NFL fan knows Sapp for sure but he never quite hit everyman cultural icon status despite his fierce play, results and great story. There may have been a tension about his violence that kept him from mass corporate endorsement and public awareness as well. If you're a fan of inspiring stories, Sapp's story will strike a note.

There was nothing like this guy when he came in , the only other player at that position was Randy White. Arron Donald is rated above Sapp . The early 2000's was a different game , the NFL was more predicated to running ......... You failed at understanding the my comment, clearly...
I miss my friends I played with. One played running back and linebacker and was the kick and punt returner. Our coaches all the way through high school never saw him as a human, but a work horse. Half way through senior year he blew his knee. It's awesome to see someone go as far as Warren buts it's sad to see a special talent like that taken due to an injury. Great video
When I think of the Buccaneers I think of warren sapp! I Miss watching him play. Every game he had that fire in his eyes and that energy that was contagious. I’m glad I got to see him play in my lifetime. He was a true warrior
That Bucs team was fun to watch. It's rare to see a roster come full circle like that anymore. There's so much turnover in the NFL now. If you don't win in 2 or 3 years, there's a new GM, new head coach, and the roster is gutted. It's so hard to really get invested. Everyone just waits to find an elite QB and just meddle around until they do
It's not about defense anymore, not with today's NFL rules. The Buccs were like the last the last team to rely on defense for 3-4 seasons straight before winning the big one. Dont get me wrong it does make a positive difference having a sharp, fast defense but having a strong consistent offense with great schemes and smart coaches is even better by today's standards.
I am a Cowboys fan but I sure appreciated the rise of the Buccaneers. I remember Sapp and Brooks getting drafted and thinking I hope Tampa don't mess this up. They didn't and Dungee built a machine of a defense.
I became a Bucs fan in 1982 when I was 12 when a friend’s dad took us to a game at the old sombrero (the old stadium in Tampa) & have been a huge fan ever since..I lived in Tampa through all the bad seasons & stuck with my team through all the bad years & getting laughed at..lol till Sapp & all the other great players built a team that not only I loved but was proud of..I remember watching them get better & better..finally making the playoffs & getting beat in the first game a few times but we we’re getting better and better..& in 2002 that all changed when we finally beat the patriots in the wild card game and took a wild ride to the NFC championship with a team that not only believed in themselves but killing everyone along the way..Tampa also believed in them & was so proud with a haha chaser..after that game I remember driving home & everyone in Tampa (or it seemed) was honking,yelling, hanging out car windows going crazy..hell even cops were giving a chirp chirp with their sirens..hell we thought we won the Super Bowl..that was soon to come..we went ballistic when we won the Super Bowl..thanks to Sapp & that whole team that year..& the coaches as well..a lot we’re future hall of famers..it’s was to mefar more special than when Brady took us & won..we were waiting so long when Sapp & crew won SB 2003..Sapp was always exciting to watch & listen to..just my experience as a lifelong Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan
I ran into my old highschool football coach last year. I'm 40 now and he is 65. I walked up to him and said " Hey coach!" He looked at me for a second then called me by name, grinned and hugged me. He said "I cant believe you still call me coach after all this time." I said " You will always be my coach no matter how much time goes by. You taught me so much about life, football and being a man. You earned that moniker for life from me coach."
followed the bucs from that era, the dungy defense was regarded over a 10 year period as one of the greatest of all time, and warren sapp was the center piece. the man would beat triple teams, he had it all, speed, quickness, and power.
I’ve always found Sapp to be a very personable guy with an infectious personality. He’s a genuine guy that’s clearly made some mistakes in his life, but he hasn’t allowed those mistakes to change his personality.
A few things... 1) please don't repeatedly fail drug tests for marijuana and cocaine while in college and NFL and use the "I've got 9 kids to feed!" excuse to continue getting paid when you obviously, even prior to the soliciting prostitution charge, you could not keep it in your pants nor at least remember to use a condom. 2)please don't actively try to hurt players on the field when he's in a position he cannot see you. Its an illegal hit and this type of hit was a rule long before they even heard about problems with concussions etc. it makes the game dangerous and has been a rule from pee wee, HS, and college so don't try to tell anyone that you didn't know or hear about it until just then. 3)The skipping into other teams intimidation crap. it wasn't needed but even if he really needed to do something to get into their heads, there are tons of other options. that was just plain stupid. And I'm about as liberal as they come, but even here using the race card here was bs. He got fined not just for bumping the ref, but repeatedly cursing at referees to the point of getting 3 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties( not the date in question) in one game, as well as ignoring requests to cease skipping into players on a previous date. 4) Please stop beating your wife/gf...well anyone for that matter. Jeez. 5) Soliciting prostitution of a minor. OMFG. how many times before you say to yourself, "wait I might be ruining something I cant fix if I do this?" he claims he didn't knows she was a minor but wow. she sure looks obviously not 18 to me. I'm sure there's many more that can be added and even some that will need to be, as he obviously cant change.
Love watching this. Brings back memories as a child watching these games with my dad. The biggest warren sapp fan. BIGGEST BUCS FAN! I thank god for these memories. To be able to watch everyone’s progression and reactions is absolutely priceless. Love love love this. 100x over.
Always love t see the rivalry between warren sapp and Brett farve. I remember the bucs had Brett's jersey on a tackling dummy and sapp was beating the hell out of it😂😂
