@@kennethmarrow3131 I wouldn't say it's needing acceptance. I'd say the thought process is " It's closer to my residence so why should we have to go somewhere else." Plus, I think its more pride than anything. I can shop wherever I like. I personally think I would just shop elsewhere if I got into a screaming match with an employee, but I think its a swing and a miss to assume it's wanting acceptance or validation.

What does that have to do with someone of shoplifting, you can trespass someone that’s fine but you cant accuse someone of shoplifting and post their picture for the world to see, that’s called defamation

Right lol this happened to me a few times but I just declined the purchase and went to a spot I know won’t over charge. With prices going up some tobbaco shops will try to get an extra .50 cent or more out of you if you are not careful 🤣

Has nothing to do with smoking or not. I smoke but have common sense in regards to others. I wont smoke around non smokers without permission nor will I buy a smoke and raise Cain over it. If I don't like the price I just say "wow... thats expensive....." and then calmly leave. It insults nobody, lets them know why om buying elsewhere and certainly has never caused a fight or lawsuit. As the owner he can charge whatever he likes, but as a customer you have the right to take your business elsewhere.

i worked in retail a long time, we don't "bat an eye" because you might get shot. you let them run out of the store and follow up with legal action. never chase a thief, it's just not safe or smart for employees to do. 😢

@@yingnyang just a small observation though small stores or bodegas in neighborhoods with no competition buy bulk for sale items from larger bulk stores. So maybe the price is put from the manufacture for all items sold. And for the smaller store to make some profit they sell it for another price. With no competition around people buy it. Atleast that's what i know from my neighbor who owned such a store. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Actually MRP is Manufacturers Recommended Price, you’ll also see MSRP, aka Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price.

@@Mscldrew that’s why I said your statement wasn’t completely accurate as a reseller for Nike if they send me a shoe that is marked $25 that is the MRP the maximum that i can charge for it. If i sell a Zara dress i can mark up to 25% and not sell for less than 10%. It depends on the disclosures MRP does also mean maximum retail price as well as minimum.

That’s not a consumer law, that is a contractual agreement between you and Nike… an individual or a company can write anything it wants into a contract. The only consequence is they can terminate the contract and you have to find a new brand of shoes to sell. In fact, those contract terms can be found to be illegal or unfair. There was an interesting case between Burger King franchise owners a few years back when they attempted to force them to sell $1 double cheeseburgers below the cost of them to produce them.
