As a watch collector all these watches look like cheap Amazon watches that are 20-35 bucks. I'd start buying seiko and citizen watches if your starting out. You will get a quality watch and it will last. Also they aren't that much money.

$20-$35 of watches per month at a subscription price of $50? Keep in mind shipping costs and you are paying for a service which is getting a mystery watch. That is part of the appeal. You are paying $50 to most likely get a $20-$35 and maybe a chance at getting something more valuable. The gambling aspect is part of the service.

After seeing this, the Watch Gang subscription is criminal. Hopes for winning your grail watch are replaced with 30 gas station watches worth nothing. This is wasteful. It undermines the joy of seeking out that one watch you’d enjoy. Don’t settle for this! Don’t get scammed! This is not the answer! Research, and watch videos from watch experts! Save and be frugal until that purchase can be made. Then repeat. Your collection will be impressive and satisfying! It’s worth it! Believe me I know…..

First, Bill, you are killing it with your channel congrats on the growth! People who join watchgang should imo only stick with the black tier level. You can get some very nice watches for 99 bucks, but once you are spending 299 US for platinum your money would be better spent on a Seiko or Citizen or Bulova or other brand name watch with decent horological history in watch making. Fantastic video Bill well done, great presentation!

I wish you nothing but the best on your channel. I think you're genuinely a good person. No self-respecting collector would ever even consider a subscription like this. These watches are all junk. It's stuff they buy from large retailers that they couldn't sell and probably had them in a case for 80% off. Literally one month away from the garbage ( where they belong ). I'm sorry if this is harsh but I'm really getting sick of companies taking advantage of people with cheap crap. For the money people are spending on these subscriptions, you could purchase multiple $300-500 watches that would last the rest of your life, retain most of there value and desirability and have original designs and history. Best advice is to save 4-8k for a proper watch. Which is where you end up after years of buying, selling and trading sub 1,500k watches anyways. The journey through affordable stuff is fun though and a good way to learn what you like. Just please for the love of all things, don't waste your money on this stuff.

You can also see what kind of watches you like by going to a watch store.. good info but I will not be taking part in this. Snag a tissot prx, orient bambino, and seiko 5 and you will have a watch for every occasion

I have about 30 watches. Automatics, Quartz, and Mechanical. I don't have any "grail" watches, but I am in that 2nd category. I wear the watch that goes with my clothes.

Great video. However cheapo watches and these watch subscriptions more and more feel like a horrible waste of money. That’s around 1000 + dollars down the drain right there. I would just buy one or 2 decent watches instead. Like a lorier neptune for 499 or a used Formex essence for around 1K hell. Even a rolex homage from san martin would be better than all these watches combined. But like I said, good video.

So I've been checking out wrist mafia and I like some of there more modern watches. You said they're not very good quality though? Is there any modern watch company's (artistic / very different watches) that you would recommend?

I have a playlist on my channel page which has several monthly videos I made that shows all of the watches from different companies. You can see what watch gang sent, wrist mafia, watch of the month club, monthly watch club, clockwork club uk and more. Look for the videos with black backgrounds with the different watch club logos on it. I think I did 3-4 different videos on different months watches to show people a good comparison on each.

@6:37 Did anyone notice that this Momentum watch with the yellow sweep second hand is running...DRAWKCAB? Maybe this video was shot in the southern hemisphere. You know where the water circles counter clockwise down the drain. I had to do a triple take to confirm this piece is defying the laws of physics. If not the laws of horology.

LOL. I’ve got a limited budget and even more limited workspace for videos. (Wife and 4 kids at home). I literally had a tripod with a camera recording. Watch on the round table in my office. And I’m on the floor spinning the table by hand. The video where it’s spinning the right way was choppy. I switched hands or something moving it. The only good video I had come editing time was when it spinning the wrong direction. So I reversed the video for that watch so all watches were spinning the same direction. That’s me literally putting in elbow grease to try to up the production quality of the videos for you all. LOL.

I’m glad you ended your subscription. Deploying gambling tactics for cheap watches is a pretty scumy thing on their behalf. To anyone considering this, please save your money, throw it in a jar, and work your way up to A watch that is beautiful, functional, and will hold its value.

I’ve had to watch gang watch subscription for a while, started with the black, which wasn’t bad, went to the platinum, which is horrible! First two watches were made in China junk. After doing a little more investigating into all of the watches, most of them are made in China, which is extremely disappointing.

I recommend citizen. Before I was able to afford a Rolex I bought me a few watches from Citizen. Never had an issue with citizen. Nice packaging. Cheap price. Mine were only about $500 ish. I think now ones only worth $400. So super cheap compared to other brands. That being said you don't see a lose in quality. Very good quality. Literally never had an issue with them. They have been through hell and back. Compared to my submariner hulk where its actually got damaged the first month of owning it. Had to send it in to get repaired. I will say don't expect to resell them tho if your looking to make a profit. All of the citizens I've owned have went down in value. Atleast from the stores perspective.

Honestly - awful watches. I can’t imagine why bother with those, plain cheap pieces? Seiko, Citizen, Casio, Orient, Tissot, Bulova, Timex, Hamilton, Islander, Zelos, Phoibos…. There so many options, so much better options! Anywhere from 25$ to 500- there is a world of higher quality time pieces🤷🏼‍♂️

I absolutely agree that there’s better options. But not everyone who wants a collection of watches can afford stuff like that. Several of those are in the 500-1,000 range. And there are also folks who use this as a gift for someone. I think I explained it in that video that people often go through phases for watch buying. And even though these watches aren’t right for you, watchgang is pulling in millions and millions per year which means they’re right for some people.

@@eliecerquintero2646 I appreciate it. A downside of trying to help educate people is that the perception is you are “smarter” than them as opposed to maybe just being more experienced. And many people don’t like to work to gain insight, intelligence, or experience. They just try to tear down those who they feel are above them to feel higher. That’s why i focus on the law of 5 or rule of 5. You are the culmination of the 5 people you spend the most time with. If they’re people who tear others down, you all stay down cause you all do it. But if you spend your time with people who work to improve and help those around them, you’ll skyrocket in whatever your goals are. It was a hard lesson. It took a while to walk away from my friends. But as many of them saw me doing better. Getting good grades, getting good jobs, getting promotions, finding an amazing wife; they weren’t happy for me. They were jealous. Had mean things to say. It showed me that I made the right decision on spending time with those who were motivated and driven.

Watch gang is trash. The watches you get are terrible value for the money you're paying. "you can get watches up to (enter sum here)" is nothing more than a marketing effort (poor one at best) for the ones that don't know how to google and do research on their own about actual value for those watches. Any watch that is offered at watch gang as a watch of a lot higher value than your tier is just a watch with artificially inflated price. I bought Pagani Design tudor ranger homage for $90 which has sapphire on front and back, amazing build quality, nh35 movement that runs at +1-2 seconds a day (basically a chronometer) and it looks 10 times better than any of these watches. That value is unbeatable, not only by watch gang but by serious watch makers like Seiko, Citizen, Orient etc...

But I’m not sponsored by watch gang. Never was. I don’t even have a subscription anymore. I’ve got a nice collection of micro brand watches and now I’m in the process of saving up for an Omega. My channel is too small for sponsors to even notice my existence. (Except for some weird stuff coming from Asia which I ignore). At some point, I will accept sponsors. Just not related to the stuff I review. I don’t review website space or computer stuff so I have no problems letting something like square space or doorbell cameras sponsor me if they ever wanted to.

Or running , it’s cheaper . For the price of a couple of junk watchgang watches one can buy a decent pair of running shoes and some basic workout wear . All clothes ,whether expensive or affordable, look better on a guy who is in shape. Dad bods happen when we prioritize our family’s happiness and welfare over our own physical health. A dad bod isn’t something to be ashamed of , but isn’t something that should be celebrated either. Getting in shape and losing the gut and the chins is the first step to building real confidence, because after that our clothes fit better and it’s much easier to dress well.
