That black and white walk away from the table is a very familiar experience. Walking away from a table that you just got busted from always feel like everything else loses it's color for a few minutes after leaving.
Betting the pocket 77s full house was not the way to play that hand. You had the absolute nuts. Leave them an opportunity to bluff off to you. The odds of them bluffing into you is way better than them actually having a piece of 722 flop.
Yea AQ suited out of the small blind is always a raise. By not raising you allow the big blind to call with pretty much any 2 cards. We raise big out of the small bling because we’re out of position so a huge raise would have most likely got him to fold ace 6 suited.
Exactly my thoughts! we all do make mistakes and learn from it. So for me you lost the game right there. AQ suited vs a very tough player you have to raise to see where you are at. so against an aggressive player, may be I would raise a little more than 5 big blinds
Yes kind of gotten out of control. Not everyone that watches RU-vid has 15 a month for RU-vid. With all these monthly subscriptions I'm up to almost 100 a month.
Me personally, I’d prefer to 3b AQss out of the SB or fold it. It seems criminal to fold a hand that strong to a single raise, so I’m normally always going to lean 3b at around a 4x sizing plus xtra depending on callers in front of me. Love the video!
I agree. Tournament players that win play aggressive in this spot. U gotta 3b to see if the guy has a real hand. If he comes back over the top u can fold.
I might take the 99 hand. These late position formations have a lot of bluffs. Not sure btns stack size but we see a lot of non all in sizing from his most nutted hands AA KK. He’s def jamming AK and AQ here but may also be doing this with non nutted Ax hands and even some smaller pocket pairs. Sometimes we run into JJ and TT. Not saying it’s best spot and passing isn’t terrible.
Its crazy to think one of the players I have been following my whole life..Artur Martirosyan is at the Final Table out of almost 4,000 players. One of the greatest MTT players of our generation. Hope he takes it down tonight! GG Lex & thank you for playing in such a prestigious event!
Been watching for over a year now & it’s crazy how far you’ve come to now playing a $10,000 tourney. My bankroll can manage 2 bullets 🤣 Hope I can get to this level one day, inspiring!
I hate it when they get it in behind and then get what ever they need to beat you. It happened to me with pocket Aces three times in the WPT Prime event. You are learning how to play tournaments Lex, Keep up the good work.
Hahaha 😂 lex I love you and the content is amazing but you played the tournament like a scardy cat lmao 😂. Against whoever you play I think especially in a big tournament where everyone is a little more nervous and nitty you should be mixing it up just like you do in cash. It makes you way way way harder to play against and is the style you are use to playing. You know that AQ hand is a reraise pre. Don't give these pros too much credit, they can get felted too.
I agree. I do think that guy sees a flop even if lex reraises unless its a massive re raise. All those big tourney winners had to get lucky to win. When you're getting lucky, all your plays seem brilliant. When you're unlucky you question every play
Exactly that was 1000% a raise and a big raise since he was out of the small blind playing out of position. I also left a similar comment saying he went early to play a lot of hands but only played his strong hands. In a tournament you gotta play mid strength hands as well. Gotta show down with some 89 off to show the table you have a wide range. If every time you win a pot it’s with a big ace or big pair then it’s supper easy to play against and he’ll never do anything in tournaments. Can’t build a stack in tournaments unless you win small to mid size pots and a lot of them. Trying to win just big pots with big hands isn’t ever going to work. Can’t sit around trying to stack second best with the nuts, that shit anit going to cut it. Just by the amount of hands he showed us in this vlog I can tell he wasn’t defending his big blind enough.
What a day! Really think you will come out ahead with all the action that tournament draws to Vegas! Cash games are your wheelhouse. Hope you have fun and capitalize on using that table selection button that cash games offer. 👍♠️♦️♣️♥️
You didn't want to 3 bet with suited AQ but next hand you did want to 3 bet with off suit AK which is only slightly better If you 3 bet with AQ, could have folded out the A6 which outflopped you. It's not about the results but If you're willing to 3 bet off suit AK the you should be willing to 3 bet with suited AQ at which point your stack was larger It's like your not willing to 3 bet with QQ but you are with KK It seems you just were more passive with very similar hands They're both good candidates for 3 bet What hands are you concerned about with suited AQ that you are not with off suit AK
I watch since episode 1 and I like you much more in cash games. Anyway where you are really good in except for being a great poker player and poker grinder is rising the tention when it comes to an exciting river card 😄
The WPT overestimated the amount of interest they would get for this event, and are paying ~ $2.5 million out of their pocket. I wonder how much they'll bring in entry fees from the side events, and what % of that is accounted for by this 2.5 million.
I'd have saved the money and played a few smaller tournaments and the rest in cash games. Playing that big tournament is like trying to win the lottery. It'd be different if the revenue from this vlog covered the entry fee.
As a player who disgustingly hate losing I fail to entertain the thought of trading my usual 70%+ win rate with cash game for a less than 10% win rate in tourney. Of course the potential upside is always there for a big score with tourney but that’s almost like buying a lottery.
Just feels like you play tournaments to passively especially when you were a bigger stack. Three betting AQ hand on any street gives you more information and probably saves you from that huge river call. Either way great video!
Enjoy your vlogs. Thanks for doing them. Question. I see a lot of vlogs which are shot from nearly felt level. Any kind of tilt while the dealer is pitching cards can and sometimes does expose other players' cards to the camera. Don't think I'm being a nit to ask that vloggers set up from a raised camera position. Again, great vlogs. Cheers.
Always Always why do they get to call with A3. , I get it suited, the ace is shaped like a dagger, but why do they always flop it... I just will NEVER understand, great video, I love seeing the tournament vlogs, I think because of how it is to just run good to min cash, the prize is always a FT but dam its so tuff
Nice video. With the AQs hand you didn't say what the opening raise was, that you called. I think a re-raise is certainly warranted and he may have folded the A6...?
You NEED to 3 bet that AQ ss from the small blind flating is a mistake there if you 3 bet you could have potentially got him to fold that A6 since your range is way stronger than his 3 betting from out of position. I think flating in that spot is a mistake and it costed you chips
You played just fine with one important exception. When you had AQ suited, you’ve got to raise that big preflop. You can’t allow hands like A6 to see the flop. Ace little especially off suit can’t call pre (unless he’s just an idiot that doesn’t know what he’s doing). But as played, a Q river would have been sweet justice.
Honestly lex, you need to play just like cash you playing scared is killing you. Play your normal 3 bets etc. I know you playing against good players but I promise they would 3 bet with AQ suited
yeah that AQs hand was tilting smh but even if u did 3bet, he was gonna call in position and it would have played out the same way, GG, hopefully u will win a tourney in 2024!!!
That’s so wrong depending on the player sure they could call but if it’s a pro he’s gonna fold they know better this is not a random daily tournament at your local casino every good player knows to fold there and A6 suited is one of the worst aces you can call a 3 bet with
@@slayxx871 if we talking ICM money laddering implications or on the bubble then yeah but it was early on in Lex tourney and they were all still relatively deep, I think it would be a call in that spot but thats just me
Maybe if you dont feel so confidence with your tournanent play, dont pay 10k ones....and go for small ones and get experience....aq suites is always a big raise....good luck eney way, great videos, i watch all of them, thanks
I feel you should've played like you do in a regular cash game. You had pros at the table who will most likely put you on certain situations and you know that, why not abuse it!
to me this level of game is all about luck, since everyone are skilled to play so if you get called when you have the absolute nuts but very unlikely that they would. your last opponent calls because he got you covered and he has a decent hand. I played for ticket FOR THIS EVENT last december but I only made it to the second final table I was no.18 out 212 players only 7 got the ticket.
I've only played in smaller tournaments. The biggest one I've played was a 50k. I still remember the hand that sent me to the rail. It felt exactly like that black and white walk of despair. I opened 2.5x from EP with AQo. Get 2 calls. F:Q9X. I bet 3bb and get 1 call. I know the guy who called and he is calling with any pair no matter what. So I'm thinking I want to keep him in the hand until river. T:X it put in a straight draw so I'm not going light now. I bet around 10bb with about 30bb behind. R:9 I'm not feeling comfortable because I know my opponent would have called me down with 9x here. But I can't check and have him check back if he's holding KQ, QJ, QT. So I bet 10bb again and he tanks for a bit then puts me all in. I'm in the blender. He 100% could have called down with 9x because he's just that bad of a player. But this is also a spot he loves to bluff. I've seen him do it multiple times in the past. I feel like there is a 50% chance he's bluffing. So I flip in the call and he shows J9o.
Level 2 had kings how many time flopped sets flopped straights had queens I mean u get more hands in a 4 handed game only playing a single blind level then I have in years sh it is crazy
My guess is your aren’t playing enough hands because the only hands you showed us in this video were strong hands. You have to open your range up and play way more hands in tournaments. Winning a lot of small to mid size pots is how you build a stack. You’re probably really easy to play against because the only time you put money in the pot is when you have a strong hand. That’s why they fold when you have bigs hands and you don’t get paid. You gotta win a pot showing 89 off or some middling hands. If I’m playing that tournament vs you and the only time you show down it’s a big pair your AQ plus it would be easy to play against you. You gotta play 57 suite from the HJ or CO, shit like that. You went early to play a lot of hands but you didn’t even lay a lot of hands you only played your string hands.
You have to have a zen mindset to do well at large tournaments. Patience is the key. It's very different from live action poker. And grammar, please, "I wish I could have run", not ran, better!
Money management. Your 10k can produce better results in $ games, especially if tournaments are full of pros. ( less pros in $ games… 😎) what do I know..
