Welcome to the Chill Zone, where we chill and stuff. We're watching movie trailers with millions of views and guessing their critic scores! Twitter: / thedmatthews Instagram: / dylanwillnotparticipate
Agreed. I usually never agree with the critics, especially if the audience score is way different. Critics and normal people just watch movies differently and I'm a normal person, plus there are way more for the audience so its just a larger sample size
i actually watched “work it” last night and it wasn’t that bad, but i enjoy the stupidest shit a lot of times… except “swiped” tho that was literal garbage
I watched it yesterday too !!! And i can’t wait for him to do a movie commentary on it, I thought it was pretty good, not as cringy as the trailer led on.
I’m a fan of Sabrina carpenter and when i watched the trailer I was really worried but the movie isn’t that bad. It’s a pretty ok movie and not as bad as the kissing booth and stuff
@@tink6225 Yeah. And get some professionals who frequently work with/specialize in adolescents. I bet most of the writers don’t even have teenage children or have ever MET a teenager ever.
I mean, jump scares are a cheap and lazy way to make people scared, it works amazingly if the whole movie has substance and is scary, but it's an overdone technique and when the plot is so thin like in this movie, jump scares just make the movie looks desperate.
Premature: I hate it when an interesting premise tricks an actor I like into being in a garbage movie. The Late Bloomer: Does this man never go to the doctor? How did he reach 30 without anyone realizing he never hit puberty? Either his parents should be in jail for neglect or his doctor(s) should be sued for malpractice. Also, someone sold their soul to the devil to get that cast because WTF, HOW?! Work It: "Squirrelfriend" made me want to die. Keeping Up With The Joneses: The Incredibles 2 also did the thing where a parent is in the middle of a mission and the family calls about some domestic problem only 1) it was actually funny and 2) it highlighted how good Helen was at being both a mom and a superhero by being able to multitask like that even if it was just for a few seconds. Bad Match: See, this is why you can't trust a good rating when there's only been a small number of reviews. The only reason Bad Match's score isn't in the basement is because the only people who saw it were friends and family. That's what I'm assuming happened unless that thing is secretly funny.
I just watched the late bloomer and he says he never said anything to anyone, he knew it wasn't normal but was afraid to go to the doctor. And apparently this guy actually exists, it's based on a true story
Bad Match trailer thing at 15:02 in this video me: based on what I've seen so far my thoughts are that the concept is Yandere IRL end of the trailer: me: My thoughts that this is a yandere IRL movie are now confirmed. She seemed sweet at the beginning, but she's obsessive to the point that she will do anything to ruin his life so that he stays with her. Someone walked in said, "we need ideas anything goes," then that one person says, "What if a yandere person exists in real life?" the producer says, "congrats this works. It's a movie now" and made this. They only did a few minutes of research and made this.
@@sarahwolff16 He often confuses thriller for horror. I saw him do this on another video lol I commented on it but not sure if he saw it. I make thriller movies for a living and commonly come across people getting the two confused even though there are big differences and goals between them.
10:11 one of my biggest pet peeves in comedy trailers is the "you/we look like ____" joke, the writers think they can just dress the characters up silly and have them say "we look silly!" and it'll be instant comedy gold
I love how ”The first time.” is in the recommended for the beginning of the movie and then in another video he watches the ”love and monsters.” trailer. They just know he loves Dylan O'Brien.
*Seeing that movie have 100%. is the biggest plot twist of the year.* Edit: wow I leave this comment for a while it’s been 2 weeks I’ve never gotten this many likes thanks a lot 👌
BEFORE Y’ALL START TO COMMENT “Dylan wat-“ SHUT UP. BECAUSE YOU’LL RECOMMEND SOMETHING AWESOME AND OUT OF SPITE HE WONT WATCH IT. And I wanna see him watch the awesome stuff, too so please don’t recommend anything 😭
Let's be real here, Dylan has a bunch of movies written down that he will never watch all because some idiot said, "oMG wHo ThInkS DyLAn sHouLD wAtcH...." 😂😂
the hight of her acting career was her as Maya in Girl Meets World and that's honestly sad. She didn't get to show her amazing acting skills anywhere else.
SPOILER!!!!!!!! He got framed by a kid who he pissed off online who then preceded to hack his Twitter account and his computer. The girl was just a psycho who didn't want to be just another hookup.
The Tumor was in his brain not his penis... Pituitary Gland: The major endocrine(hormone) gland. A pea-sized body attached to the base of the brain, the pituitary is important in controlling growth and development and the functioning of the other endocrine glands.
I wouldn't give it a 100, more like a 65 or something, but that movie is surprisingly decent. Spoilers I guess: the whole movie you think this girl is ruining this guys life, and he convinces himself that she's hacking his accounts and stalking him and shit. He winds up losing his shit, locking her in a warehouse and killing her for ruining his life. Turns out she wasn't doing any of that to him. It was just some kid he argued with earlier in the movie on Xbox Live. The end of the trailer where she attacks him is a nightmare. It's a decent movie that doesn't really take itself seriously but still has a lot going for it, and I'd honestly recommend more people see it.
oh okay Oh wow, that actually sounds good. Seem like the only people in recent years that know how to do a trailer without giving away the whole movie. I would never have expected a twist like that. That explains the low audience score as well. We usually know what to expect.
"They're writing for what they think millenials want, don't let 40-years old write for teenagers!" Well, the 40 year olds are technically the oldest millenials, teenagers are gen z.
Yeah but a knife wound isn’t always insta-death. Even if someone got stabbed by a knife and then they knocked it out of her hand and he knocked her out, he could call the paramedics and make a recovery.
@@cheeseisherelive753 yes but if someone's coming at you with a knife, I don't think you're going to think about the fact that you're stronger than them. In order to fight them, you'd have to get near them, which makes them more likely to stab you. And if they do, even if it doesn't hit major organs, you're still gonna be blessing out. So I think it's still fair to say an obsessed person with a knife is pretty threatening.
Emmy Debae I never said that wouldn’t be a threat, I’m just saying that fight or flight comes into play and when your life is being threatened you’ll do anything to protect yourself. People have survived very severe knife attacks through sheer willpower alone. So all I’m saying is even if she has a knife, if she didn’t puncture any vital organs, he could still fight the knife away from her and put her down.
@@cheeseisherelive753 I don't doubt that you can still fight and survive. But if someone is coming at you with a knife they're instantly more threatening than without it. It's a weapon and I doubt anyone would just shrug it off and think "I'm stronger than them, its all good" 😂
Me realizing that Dylan knows Paul Wesley's face well enough from TVD as to spot him from it just made my night for some reason. Idk its like I can rest easy knowing that he's experienced such great teenage fantasy drama Also i feel like Dylan would have a fun time with "The Great". Its a bop
@@angelajohnsonkeys4199 I'm 25 and the youngest of the Millenials. I was starting to think I was the oldest person here since most of Dylan's subscribers seem to be Gen Z.
I just wanted to point out that "Bad Match", the movie with a 100% score, was only reviewed by 8 critics. This movie had the least amount of ratings from critics, while 122 critics reviewed "Keeping Up with the Joneses." So for "Bad Match" to get a 100% rating, only EIGHT movie critics had to have a somewhat positive review of the movie (like a 3 or 3.5 out of 5).
@@mahrhaider5 if anybody's kinda interested to see why it might have a higher rating than expected, Pretty Much It (who've collabed with Dylan before) have a shortish commentary video on it. it still doesn't look like a masterpiece by any means but I can see why people might like it. plus, only 8 ratings, so..
I’ve actually seen Bad match and it’s actually pretty good so I definitely believe that even if more people record it would still be considered fresh (maybe more like 80% fresh though)
