Same. It's nice to see the different views + context from players. Did m2k ever do a viewing? i'm sure he'd have tons of stories and perspectives especially on early melee
If you listen to Wife's commentary in the PC-Ken set at MLG New York, he says PC was up on Ken 5-3 in a best of 11 set. So let's just all be grateful that that isn't happening anymore.
I absolutly love listening to the deeper lore of melee from the perspective of a high elo player, but with your storytelling finesse - I can't bring myself to listen to anyone but the M.D.
The Brawl-experience is probably how I felt when I started playing Gears of War 2 after playing Gears of War competetively for two years. I even got offended when people said Gears 2 was better.
Hey PP! Love your content and everything you do. The reason I play melee in general is because of you to be honest. But I just wanted to ask you of your opinion on DaShizWiz recent tweets and all? Obviously you don’t have to answer if you’re not comfortable in doing so. Thanks! Also, get well soon buddy! Much love!
I always thought papercuts referred to all the new kids and old rivals coming back and beating Ken one or two times. That combined with his fatigue lead to him stepping away from the scene. He left after a thousand papercuts. It was never some big body blow it was just thousands of papercuts.
Before, absolutely. After, I don't really idolize anyone now because it's different when you meet and play in person a lot. But I still respect him of course!
2:02:53 I didnt actually think it was called "The Greatest Melee Tournament Since Brawl Came Out", I thought you described it as "The Greatest Melee Tournament Since Brawl Came Out".... its an actual tournament. wtf is that name
Its so weird that Wife's schizo rant about the "melee triangle" literally tracks. Azen has never lost a set to KDJ, KDJ has a slight winnng record against M2K, and M2K has never lost a set to Azen. He witnessed all that too so ig that really was how and why it worked out like that.
I wasn't even a competitive melee player. Didn't know anything about how to speed up the gameplay. And I STILL felt like Brawl was awful. To me it was like melee but playing in sand. Everything was SO SLOW. And that was without any of the speed techniques. Brawl was NOT a good casual game. Melee was. Sakurai is just wrong.
