Yeah uhm you do know that you DON'T need to give something SO IMPORTANT away at this point right? It doesn't matter when did they released the comic because this masterpiece will outlive all of us. WE SHOULDN'T ruin the amazing twist for those who don't know it yet!! Also Since Manhattan DIDN'T know here what's happening in the background yet his comment is very much valid. If you can imagine what Manhattan goes through here it's sure as hell shitty and scary for a human. Even if Manhattan would never admit such it was a huge drop on him.
@@0Fallacy could you please remove this old comment of yours? I got spoiled unnecessarily, and probably other people have been and will be spoiled too. I understand this was probably not your intention, and maybe i should've abstained from reading comments. But still, maybe it's better to remove that comment, or at least add some spoiler tags to it.
I don't get what big deal is. I'm watching the story unfold and taking it all in. The voices have their own characteristic, I even forget it's only one guy. Learn to enjoy the simple things
@@bonybiga7616 I literally came back after reading through Watchmen scans and at this moment with Laurie and Jon having sex and I started to voicing Laurie in my head *this* way like in comic (except I never actually watched most of it, certainly not women parts, I just know that it's one guy voicing everyone) and I HAD to come here and check how it sounds I was right in my head
The narration is an one-man show here. The need for different voice-actors seems invalid here. Overall, I am just in awe of the cinematic rendition of this series. Thoroughly in horror, in a good way.

He does horrible Laurie. I trade off on, The Shining and No Country audiobook every night. For years, I always hated narrator and just listened to the movie. I knew "Sugar's" voice instantly.
i like how to comment section is cluttered in a torrent of "BLUE PENIS" or "WEIRD VOICE ACTOR" instead of the comic quality itself and what it stimulates.
Pretty sure he doesn't actually radiate... But yeah, weird how ppl come close to him. I think they think it's a long time effect (long time friend, ex-girlfriend)
Not gonna lie, haven't read this book in a while, been seeing the HBO show, saw this as I was looking at videos about the TV show, glad I did. Well done. I mean it, this is clearly made with love for the medium of motion comics.
This is brilliant and I'm currently in he process of watching each episode. Seeing so many complaints about the voices is embarrassing. Everyone who read watchmen fancies themselves and intellectual but time and time again the fans display their incompetence.
I believe the story of the black kid and the stall vendor is to provide a sympathetic character with which the reader/viewer can relate so that, when the inevitable doomsday event occurs, the toll of it bears more weight emotionally.
"hows the end of the world going on ?" " today for certain " This honestly cracked me up, i like how friendly the guy is to rorshach despite knowing that he's probably not right in the head
Who likes the new show. The fifth episode about looking glass is one of the best TV episodes I have ever seen. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Why would he be in trouble? For stuttering? He did what he was asked to do, as he said. In the army, doing your job doesnt generally get you in trouble, I think, and I'm pretty sure that scene is in the government facility laurie and dr Manhattan live in
I’ve had experience with audiobooks but if I could, I’d nominate Kari WALGREN, who spoke for Starfire of the Teen Titans in these mature straight-to-video movies Warner Brothers animated, and Zatanna in a kid friendly series, “DC Superhero Girls”; ya know, for the female characters, except for the Vietnamese woman in the prior chapter; either Lauren Tom or Steff someone who spoke for Artemis in “Young Justice”.
He said “funny” but there was nothing funny going in “Tales of the Black Freighter”! Oh, the irony. Yes, there’s a ton of irony in “Watchmen”, but that takes the cake.
Why is the audio so good in part 2 but it's terrible in this one (part 3)? It's like the volume's dynamic range has been massively compressed and then lowered here. It sounds so flat and dead while in part 2 it's so full and lively.
Rory Guitar Alan Moore got into a dispute with DC over the commercialization of his creations and when I say that is the whole nine yards, movies, spinoffs, etc.Moore didn’t like that and I think they went on a financial dispute too.
SofaKingWeTodEd666 they aren’t smoking meth, they’re smoking e- cigarettes. In this alternate version of the 80s Dr.Manhattan’s existence and assistance allowed for a lot of things to be invented earlier than IRL. Granted, you have to pay super close attention to see that smidgen of world building and it’s funny how Moore saw them coming
after seeing Jane’s bitterness towards Dr. Manhattan, Laurie’s treatment of Rorschach and Gloria’s reaction towards Dr. Malcolm Long, I see a pattern that suggests Alan Moore had a low opinion of women in general.
Those are his wishes with anything involving his workì being associated with movie/film Industry..I believe it was the way his book adaptations V for Vendetta and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen were handled that turned him off to the entertainment industry..Not even the mentioning other content and relations with the studio systems.. Also WB owning these versions rights could also be a contributing factor. Not to mention Alan kinda prefers living like Osama Bin Laddin supposedly did.
Fine, I get that. But there must have been some reason you chose to look at this. Maybe reading it in your head wasn't good enough anymore. Besides, you are in the 3RD CHAPTER, each 20 something minutes long. What I'm saying is that you're beating a dead horse. Its not optimal, but you have a choice to go along or not.
But to be fair I don't think that a motion comic of say Art Spiegleman's 'Maus' or Chris Ware's 'Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid On Earth' or 'Building Stories' would measure up either. There are some works that only work as sequential art on paper not on a screen with crappy animation and a single narrator, Watchmen is one of these.
I've been reading Watchmen since 1987 when it was first published in tpb and I'm still satisfied with it, If I didn't think the original Watchmen wasn't still "good enough" I'd probably be praising the 'Before Watchmen'. :-P cash cow prequel The only reason I checked the Watchmen motion comic was because I was curious to see how it measured up to Moore and Gibbons original sequential art story on paper, it didn't.
The main 'characteristic' that sticks out like a sore thumb is that all the voices were done by the same person, and that Silk Spectre sounds like a drag queen. Sorry but that's just the way it is.
I did look at it... ONCE which was enough. If DC/Warner Bros doesn't think enough of this Watchmen motion comic to hire a full voice cast (Peter Weller for Rorshach!) then it's not likely I'm going to bother with a one note tone dead audio reading of Moore & Gibbon's masterwork when I can read my copy of Absolute Watchmen and create a whole variety of the character's voices in my head which for me is the only way to experence Watchmen.
Yeah this is KIND OF cool, but female characters with the male narration is just very wrong. They should at least have hired one female narrator also... Shame.
