Wow - you guys are super honest, which I appreciate. Also appreciate the getting married later comment and the work damn hard in your 20's when you have the hunger and drive to achieve as much as possible! Btw it's never too late to take the adventures you want to, even with the kids in tow, or when you're in your 30's/40's/50's and beyond. Don't limit yourselves and don't think that you have to have a certain amoun of money in the bank to feel safe. Use it to give you the experiences you really want, and just live life to the fullest x

"When you do have kids, you don't want them"..... I think the thing to remember is those annoying little kids soon become adults. When they're adults they are great!!!! But occasionally (I mean often) they'll recall many things during their childhood when you've made mistakes in their upbringing. If I could turn the clock back I'd change those memories, especially things like being too strict with getting homework done!

Married people are miserable question ... I find those who are miserable are the ones who got married too young, or the in laws meddled with the marriage and spoiled things for the couple. If you get married older, it's a whole different ballgame. You both know who you are and what you want, and have maturity and some wisdom to live a happy married life. I married my husband in my 30s, and life is so much easier sharing the responsibilities. And it's lovely having a companion. I would be miserable if I was alone. And no I didn't need to start self help and self love etc etc. I'd accomplished a lot in my 20s and it got unfulfilling chasing goals on my own, and I outgrew that phase of wanting to chill and travel with my friends. I wanted something more meaningful and more for the day to day. Marriage at the start takes some work, getting to know who you're now living with. Once that passes, and you're on the same page, married life is actually bliss Alhamdulillah. Oh also I find those who are miserable in marriage, didn't really know what married life was, and love was at the forefront. So when these young people get married, they learn the hard way that practical life is what needed a compatibility quiz, not love. When two people can't and don't communicate on practical life, it's a learning the hard way process that can often leave people bitter, resentful and just falling out of love. Practical things to ask include questions like who will wash the dishes *that's a huge one for arguments if you don't ask it! Who will pay the bills and who will raise the kids, how each person wants to feel appreciated for their part in the marriage, how would each deal with in law drama *don't be foolish to think it won't happen. InshaAllah it won't. But that's a minority! Ladies, ask it and give scenarios! I did! And we got tested with the monstor in laws from my husband side and guess what... he delivered in how he'd said he would before we got married! And today Alhamdulillah we're still together. Yes a person can lie before marriage. But we're not dumb. We have instincts. We know inside how truthful the man is being. Don't ignore any red flags. If you keep it real before lust and love, you'll find married life is actually a huge blessing. There's something special about sharing life with someone who's got your back and your theirs. It's a powerhouse! Lastly! Please don't have kids if you don't want the responsibility. I have yet to see parents who are happy! I love kids and want kids, but I know I loathe the responsibility that will come with it (which I know comes from having to raise my siblings when I was still a child myself) and the dependency, so I've made the decision to not have any. I've done me that favour. Kids are not a joke. Once they grow out of the cute factor, you're left with a human needing you and depending on you for the rest of your life! So think carefully before bringing life into the world. Too many couples lose the couple when parenthood starts. It's sad to see their misery and going through the motion of life without much excitement. I've always found parents to be depressed for the most part, tired and unhappy. It's not fair on the parents or the kids. It's sad that Dina and Sid can say married life isn't worth it. They've obviously been through the mill and found it hard. But they got married young. It's big for them to share their experience. But doesn't mean married life is miserable and everyone will regret it. Actually, same goes for parenting. There may be some happy parents. I've yet to see them lol but there may be 😅 I adore my husband and him me. And we've decided together from day dot, we will not have kids. Even when I get broody, I just have to see a screaming kid and distressed parents, and I know I'm happier in my couple bubble. We each work hard, and go on regular date nights and enjoy me time too. Don't get me wrong! Took some working and we almost got divorced a few times along the way. No new married couple doesn't think of divorce in the first year! That's normal. But when two people love each other and nailed the practical compatibility; you'll weather the storm and enjoy having a co pilot. Life is hard and lonely alone. Find yourself a partner in crime. It's worth the effort ❤️ Ps. All is not lost for those who feel marriage wasn't worth it. Start dating again. As we get older our needs change. Sometimes the spouse may not be on board with those changes. Communication is the strongest foundation of a fulfilling successful marriage and respect. Respect the needs of your spouse. I've seen too many older single people, and old single people. Life is definitely more miserable when done alone. Family and friends don't compare to coming home to someone special at the end of a hard days work and being comforted and getting affection, especially when you've had a rough day! The warmth, understanding and reassurance from a loving spouse is something worth taking a leap of faith for ❤️

I partially agree with the while ‘wait until you’re older to get married’ as I did just that. I was in my 30s when I married my best friend Alhamdulillah. We now have been married 6 years and have 3 lil kids too Alhamdulillah. Marriage is hard and you have to want to work hard it. The low parts can be painful or hard but the highs definitely counteract that. No relationship is perfect and you need to do what’s best for you and your partner ❤️

I totally disagree on the being married sucks part. Of course at times being your married is difficult, for the reason being that you have to deal with someone else’s issue and needs. However, if you really love and care for your spouse, it will get easier with time. I am married for 5 years now. and let me tell you the first 2 years we’re a rollercoaster ride. And yet I am telling you that I wouldn’t want to change anything we have been through as couple. It made us as individuals a better human being and strengthen our bond as a couple. Therefore, don’t get scared about getting married. Nevertheless, they are right by pointing out that being to young could make things even more difficult. But again one shouldn’t generalise, because what might have workout for me won’t work out for you and vice versa . The most important thing is that you are happy with yourself and you are mentally at a place where your concept of happiness is not defined by somebody else.

@goldensun5160
@goldensun5160 2 года назад
Personally I think they gave bad advice on the marriage front, especially as Muslims, marriage is hard but if you marry someone who wants to build a life with you it’s one of the most beautiful things ever, I am married and have children so I’m speaking from experience. Marriage protects you from so much fitna, and it’s a very big sunnah too, I get from a non muslim perspective to say get married late but for Muslims it’s terrible advice because we are supposed to live our life with a greater purpose than having fun and ‘living our best lives’. I would personally never advise getting married late especially if you want children, if a person doesn’t find the right person that’s one thing but to choose to delay marriage for the sake of I want to live my life is misguided. social media and western thinking is placing importance on the less meaningful things in life and making the truly meaningful things in life seem less valuable.

No. She wasn't gaslighting. Many times adults overreact in situations because the trigger in that situation brought back old memories (*almost always from childhood/earlier life) of things that happened to the person when they were vulnerable and unable to deal with it. Unhealed trauma is painful in a marriage, and difficult for the spouse.

I wouldn’t say you guys got married too young tbh so I’m not sure where this stems from

I think they’re assuming that young people are in mixture and don’t know what they want which can def be true But there are also a lot of people who are glad they married young so I think it truly depends on the people
