Those first times having someone affirm your gender stick with you, I still remember the first time someone addressed me as a dude. Regarding your family, you might see improvements over time if you're patient. But if they don't get any better I personally don't see it as a big deal, there's over 8 billion people on this earth, you're bound to find a group to offer unconditional love and support. As they say, LGBT people and chosen family go hand in hand. Oh, and obviously don't come out unless it's safe, take care :)

Yes, there are phone calls with tons of misgendering (it doesn't help that my native language is more gendered than English), but in everything else I openly use he/him and ignore everyone who tries to tell me I'm a girl. But when I have to spend time with my family, and everyone acts caring and loving in everything, except they always address me as a girl and talk about how beautiful and feminine my body is. And it doesn't hurt me as much as it throws me right back to the uncertainty and questioning and the thoughts like "maybe they're right and I've made everything up and I should just enjoy being a girl", and I hate it so much, and I have no idea what to do with it, because no matter how supportive my friends are, just a few hours with my family is enough to all the doubts to come back. Sorry for venting, I guess, I am right now with my family, so, kinda have no idea what to do or feel about it all...

Have a simular situation especially a heavily gendered language. However, I get strong feelings of dysphoria mostly when around friends and classmates and when I have to refer to myself in a feminine way (I speak in the russian language) than family (I am closeted, but it is unlikely that they will accept me in the future, so I endure).

@@alecrosewell6959 Having Dysphoria can cause all kinds of weird thoughts and feelings. I have Dysphoria toward my chest. And in the house I have a habit of lifting my shirt, forgetting I even have boobs. But in public I'm wearing hoodies on hot days and trying to hide my boobs, feeling self-conscious every time they bounce. I see women go jogging and their boobs bouncing and they don't care. I jog awkwardly with my arms trying to hide/stop my boobs

I guess, the bopping up and down is to distract you from being tensed up. To lower your voice, your diaphragm and the vocal tract must be as relaxed as possible. So it weirdly makes sense. My speech therapist also had me hum into a balloon (inflated and shut, so it can act as a resonance chamber) or hold it to my chest to feel, how far down the vibrations go while humming.

@Barb L, I happen to be assigned male at birth (or, AMAB, for short); for some reason, I cannot get with the term cisgender. I should be in bed, and heading there shortly, but I REALLY enjoyed this video, love Ty's energy, and frankly, would NOT be opposed to seeing him shirtless more often. But I want to see more than just the collarbone (smile).

you know... as you'll grow older, you'll understna dyou owe it to no one to explain yourself. I'm a fairy attractive female (long hair, blah blah) and I have (potentially) a very sweet voice. And soft manners. And when I sometimes open up to people about my wanting to be 'on the other side of things', they're like 'wow...no way! Anyone BUT you!' and they go on with explaining that it's just my 'childhoodtrauma', or 'being a pragmatic female' (yeah, like logical thinking was only a male domain... WUT?) or not having 'discovered' my 'inner goddess yet'... (literally I had a guy preach on a 'date' for 4 hours about it... he was sick, no second date, obv). Anyway... I decided that I *won't* explain myself to people that I have a whole frekain bunch of those small thinkins about the way I think, reason, plan, self-perceive and make decisions that are dude-like, and there's too many of them to just rationalize it as a 'slightly different woman'... My brain is freaking male, DUH, just get over it. And yet I am scared to o under knife or start the therapy (I hate doctors, I'm heavily into altmed and I don't want to rely on the sick medical system we have for the rest of my life). I have decided to continue my vocal exercise (I started when I was 14, developed an adam's apple :D I call it my eve's apple... ) and heavy top work out. I *may* end up looking like a guy with gynecomastia, but well.. so be it :) I also don't want to lose my hair or have my body botched. I'd rather remain in the body of aan attractive chick. And yeah... for this reason I have people bullcrap me too with 'you're not real trans if blah blah blah'... Did I mention I don't want facial or chest hair? And I accept myself, because there's plenty of guys who shave or wear long hair or whatever... there's not only one 'prototype' that you have to subscribe to and fear that some tik tok kids will call you out... Just move on, they're in the wrong. love yourself and accept yourself. You have to appeal to you, first and foremost. The tik tok kids can wait :D I'm 30 btw, and *finally* fully understanding and accepting myself.
