@@ahhh4117 oh the accent is terrible but it's not the most terrible I've heard from an American. They don't get that much exposure of different Scottish accents there and I feel like the two most famous ones are actually dodgy impressions from non Scots anyway (eg Shrek and braveheart). And often the most famous Scottish actors we have are usually hired to sound English, like David Tennant doing an English accent in Dr Who and Good Omens and James McAvoy in... Pretty much everything he does lmao. Americans always try to heavily roll their Rs which is not actually that common, especially in every day speech. Ironically the Scottish R is closer to most American Rs than to the R in most English accents because they're both rhotic whereas in England only really a couple of West country accents are rhotic.

I live in a small town in Scotland, not really the most progressive place but tbh it isn’t completely horrible here. I have quite a few trans and non binary friends and acquaintances, it really shows how even in places that aren’t very diverse (almost everyone in my high school was white) there are still many people who are minorities and it’s more than people would think. I’m cis and bi, and I’ve faced biphobia but not often, and I’ve heard people make transphobic comments but most of the time it’s just people not saying things in the ‘right way’, and if you gently correct them and explain they usually prove just how accepting they actually are and want to be. It’s just a case of being equipped with the information they need to be a good ally. Quite a lot of older people I know are actually very accepting, they just don’t have the right words or are unsure of some concepts, but once it’s explained they just accept it as it is. Like you said most working class people here won’t be shitty to you because nobody cares that much about how someone expresses their identity or about who they love, it’s just seen as a part of who someone is and we’re all too busy trying to earn money to spend time policing other people’s lives. We’re pretty anti authority so trying to be an authority on someone else’s identity and life is ridiculous to us, so the most you’ll get is being asked to clarify who you are if someone doesn’t know, and they’ll maybe ask you to explain other facets of lgbt+ life but other than that people will just take you as you are. Scottish people have a reputation for being a bit hostile, and our accents can sound a bit aggressive, but tbh the majority of people here will accept anyone, the only rule is “don’t be a cunt.” (Also fuck terfs and fuck jk Rowling. Keep fighting against those idiots. Don’t let the bastards get you down!)

Just want to say that you not finding out you were trans until 28 is really validating for me as an almost 22 year old currently questioning their gender. I’ve heard a lot of stories about trans people knowing early on in their life that they are a different gender, and that makes me feel like my current feelings and thoughts aren’t valid (which is dumb I know). So thank you for sharing a little bit of your story!

@@madelynweaver4442 yo it’s all okay, most of the early stuff that people talk about are small things they did when young that they didn’t notice were trans at all until they realized they were trans and what they did. most people even forget some of the trans things they did when young that were obviously trans. it might be hard to spot them because it’s how you’ve been your whole life, so you don’t notice a difference as easy because you have to compare it to a life you don’t live.

I would love to see it. ^_^ There really isn't enough of this type of content. I don't know if I have even seen any well researched professional level content on this subject. Usually it's just people saying things like, "do a ton of pull ups and get them dorito lats" and although it's nice to see any content being made to support the community, a lot of the stuff that's out there really doesn't teach any more than the most basic workout advice most people already know. I know it would be really difficult and take a ton of effort to make a series like this, but if anyone could do it, I know Ty can! :)
