There is a lot of pirate history in the Bahamas. The remains of the fort depicted on the show "Black Sails" are located inside the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau. Arawak were originally from South America but were driven out by the Carib tribe and settled in the Greater Antilles and the Bahamas...

Billy... I can't remember if you ride North or Cabrinha kites but get Sierra on the camera and you jumping over at least your tender... Green Turtle Cay is a great place to break out the kite. I brought mine over there and totally made a fool out of myself. So I'm hoping you'd do better.

If you take the boat back over to the Bahamas, think about heading down to the island of San Salvador. Aldo Campos from 16th St. Pompano is living over there now. A lot of the Jupiter crowd knows him, especially since he owned the Kite Surf Place in Pompano.

I don't know what the laws are in the Bahamas but I would love to see you guys get a metal detector and do some detecting on some of the out islands to see what you can find. I have always wanted to do that.

I'm going to jump in cuz their internet isn't a daily happening. They have only been in the Bahamas for a bit more that a week, up to now, and I think this whole Bahamas Journey was planned to be a 2-3 week trip ? June 1st is the start of our Hurricane Season here in the Atlantic, so the journeys to the Bahamas tend to become shorter. I'm sure BILLY will jump in and correct my errors :)

You're going to feed the sharks broccoli! Actually, the Sailboat Story crew were at Hog Island earlier this year and while there they discovered the hogs were all sick and being segregated, or something. You should check on whether they are still visit-able, and/or there may be a cost now.

Yes, Boston whalers are amazing! Other than that a lot of people use hard bottom inflatables. If you prefer to row or sail then the round bottom fiberglass dinghies are awesome and some beautiful such as a Dyer. We had a Boston whaler squall and loved it as a rowing dinghy

It's a Bahamian courtesy flag meaning we are cruising in Bahamian waters and we are all checked in and everything. You fly a. yellow quarantine flag before you check in.
