These are floating centercaps, not spinners. Spinners keep spinning after the wheel stops turning.

they work but looking at the amount of flexing from the wind buffeting youll need to either make it from thicker material or give them a bit more profile to make them more solid

I thought it would be cool to make the spinner full size and to look just like the rim. It would look like the car was sliding down the road without the wheels turning.

Good job. You guys should build a Lada in "V.I.P." style. Key features include very dark tinted windows and/or curtains, chrome wheels and accessories and so forth.

I didnt think the car could look more trashed with the rubber band tires but you proved me wrong.

So FYI for everyone. Spinners were popular years ago. They usually spun up to speed when you drove and kept spinning when you stopped driving to make the vehicle look like it was still moving. That was the general idea. These are stationary.

I wonder how frequently bearings on these things bind up and fling the floating caps off.

Yes, the are a bit unstable. Maybe other rims with less air flow, so they won't be flattering during driving. All in all, they are cool.

I found the guts to one of those air raid sirens or the nuke warning sirens that spin to make noise and a buddy asked me to do his breaks so i got to messing around and mounted the siren thing to the inside of a rear wheel.. it only made the wheel stick out maybe an extra quarter inch so not really noticeable. But lemme tell ya when he got to going above 40mph that sucker would start screaming.. and he brought it back to me like "whatd you do to my car because it is so loud now that it hurts the ears while driving the damn thing .. funny as hell..

also maybe the effect would be trippy if you used the worlds darkest black paint on the rims so only the spinners are seen especially at night.

Here's a random idea, not sure if it would work though. Weld the big, powerful magnet behind the spinner that is pointing straight down and onto the wheel lip/outer edge. The idea is that the weight of the magnet would help keep the spinner in place, but also firmly pull itself onto the wheel, keeping it locked in place.

Honestly I'm from a high snow area probably why not popular in Russia. It's a snow trap. Let's see a video on a device that scrubbs ice and snow out of the inner rim so we stop destroying front end components in the winter times

Has garage 54 ever done a video on lugging an engine? How much can you lug a motor before it blows? I tried going uphill lugging my engine in 5th but I just basically stalled the motor. Wondering if you can lug a motor to death?

The problem will be the hubs will eventually fail and the floating face flaps which makes them look thin and cheap

Spinners would be better. Same ideal but whole rim. If you do I good spend backwards, moving forward would really catch people's eyes.

I would definitely NOT go to any highway with these, if one of them come lose... 😅 Other than that, it could be much stable if the plate iteself would be more thick and bottom heavy (I know, easier said than done...) Also, if there were some kind of rim that holds these plates in place, so if they ever come loose, there's some sort of a protection. I also wonder wheter these "mods" are permitted by law, even in Russia 😄

In 'merica, iterally EVERYBODY has spinners or floaters on all of their cars and trucks, their riding lawn mowers, their snowblowers, their boat trailers, their skateboards, motorcycles, bicycles, unicycles, golf carts, wheelbarrows, grocery carts, office chairs, rolling suitcases - everything with wheels. Only real geeks don't have spinners or floaters!

I think floaters have grown on me over the years as I personally have a 78 chevy malibu classic I want a set of these for.
