Friends you as a couple seem to have lower stress situation. Most ppl benefiting from miracle herbs are the high stress situations with conflicts in the relationships or other type of stress and lack of life comforts. So that's a big difference when comparing results and trying to scientifically measure things.

I have tried the OstroVit NAC because its the cheapest and I didnt find a reason Not to take it especially in combination with 700 EUR/month of other products. My highest results are the combos where I can control the dosage based on if the liver and digestive can handle it. I like to go high in dosages.

It was the milk thistle dandelion that's more powerful for liver. You can try it if you stop those ones and keep the NAC you should be able to experience the difference each hormonal or metabolic pathway inside the body should be able to be felt and experienced when its fully on and when its not very On. Interoception and maybe some yoga stuff. Below someone mentioned ketosis I will say intermittenf fasting and waterfasting help with that interoception because they regen the feeling part of the system so you will get clearer signals whats happening after your actions.

A fitness bro supplement reseller said the NAC improves the function of the lungs by coating the inside and protecting from environmental sressors. However I think the more broad effect may be improving oxygen transport function indirectly. These things are noticable indeed in older more damaged individuals who have reduced functions. Experiment on them to see which product improves what.

I believe glycine may be a factor in why N-acetylcysteine (NAC) could increase the risk of osteoarthritis. It's well-established that a slight glycine deficiency can hinder collagen synthesis. If our bodies only produce 3 grams of glycine while taking NAC, this glycine might be preferentially directed towards glutathione production rather than collagen synthesis.

pretty convinced heavy NAC usage (with TMG but not glycine) made my osteoarthritis much worse causing a pretty bad knee injury which still troubles me. Now I use NAC irregularly (still once a week or fortnight) but now I supplement with glycine daily to help with my joints. NAC is a wonderfully powerful supplement but consumer beware, familiarise yourself with the biochemistry pathways, and probably ensure you take glycine (and possibly also TMG) while utilising the supplement.

that means that if you consume tons of glycine (20gr+ in total from cheap pure glycine, collagen powder and gelatin daily) then it can benefit both production of glutathione with NAC usage and also collagen production.

You can try vitamin B2 in high doses to support MTHFR and maybe also higher than normal doses of B6 to help the body make glutathione out of homocysteine which is part of the methylation cycle. To support the methylation cycle you can take end products of this cycle like creatine and choline. It takes a load of it. If there is not enough B6 and methyl B12 the body uses zinc to turn homocysteine back into methionine which is in protein. So eating a lot of protein without adding in extra B6 can become problematic at some point.

Interesting study about the potential risks. Like Inka I also have compelling reasons to take NAC (and a lot of joint problems have resolved since!). But who knows about the long term. One mechanism one might think of is that taking NAC might deplete glycine; which is very well known to be very important to joint health. Since there is a lot of interest in the gly-nac combination I guess we will learn in time if there are such interaction effects.

I'm an American of Baltic origin and I suffer from debilitating migraines. I've tried different supplements, and while some things help here and there, ultimately, there's one thing that has completely cured my migraines: moving to a tropical climate. Somehow, I get migraines from various triggers like certain nuts, but I also realized that barometric pressure changes related to seasonal weather changes trigger severe migraines for me. In stable tropical climates near the ocean, I experience no migraines.

@@iaminkaland It's great to see you got my message. It's interesting that you have had a similar experience to mine. I would have never known except for the fact that I've been traveling all over Asia for my work, and one day I realized, "Hey, I never get migraines in this kind of tropical climate near the ocean with stable barometric pressure." The Mediterranean should also be good for my migraines, and I plan to move there later. Currently, I'm working on my PhD in Thailand, and let me tell you, it's a dream. My heart goes out to you and your family, as I'm around your age and understand how seriously migraines can impede your progress in career, health, and even life. I often have discussions about whether or not I'll be able to ever live in a place with unstable weather patterns again, but as far as finishing my PhD, I have to stick to the tropics. I'm even publishing a nice article on Baltic economies. I would love to discuss more about it and work on getting people the help they deserve, as migraines have been one of the hardest challenges in my life.

You could be reacting to oxalates when it comes to nuts. Candida, histamine and oxalates are well connected. Moving to a different climate probably raised vitamin D and this probably helped the immune system deal with histamine as mast cells stabilise by working on the immune system. High oxalates can push sulfur out of the cells which causes less glutathione to be made. Oxalates are also in candida. Candida also creates histamine flair ups this way. Interesting thing about weather change. I think it might be because of manipulation of the weather these days as they use something called HAARP. I noticed it helps me to take more iodine which helps against radiation. In city areas there is also a lot more radiation. Someone who has a lot more heavy metals in their brain react more sensitive to radiation.

Something else that would be interesting to discuss is the potential for NAC to affect the gut microbiome since it has some ability to break up biofilms and break up gut mucus barriers. In my personal experience, more recently it seems to cause anhedonia and other emotional numbness for a time that may be related to the neurotransmitter effects you mentioned or through affecting the microbiome and disturbing the gut-brain axis.
@ollymounara605
@ollymounara605 2 месяца назад
Yes, a better way to support glutathione synthesis is to take enough B6 as that is needed in the first step and more genes that turn homocysteine into taurine and glutathione. When B6 is low the body will recycle it back into methionine via methylated B12 or zinc. But eating protein and end products of methylation like creatine and choline while not having enough B6 might end up in too much homocysteine and methionine in the system. Might create a sulfur intolerance I suspect. NAC breaks down mucus in the lungs and intestine. But you need some mucus for stool to be smooth. In top of that it can breakdown the biofilm of pathogens and create die off which is hard on the liver as you do not have enough glutathione to get rid of the heavy metals coming out of that. This is probably why you need a pretty high dose to see some results for liver health as you break down biofilm and needs to detox what comes out of that.

What a perfect couple! This side-by-side video is so helpful because it really shows how things are different for everyone (something that gets really overlooked by the male-dominated biohacker community). Congratulations Inka on putting your migraines into remission! A video on your full migraine stack would be wonderful. I also managed to almost completely eliminate my migraines. (Almost completely because--I still occasionally get some migraine pre and post drone symptoms such as slight brain fog, but have eliminated most of the pain). My migraine stack is Jubilance/oxaloacetate (which is magical), magnesium (as Epsom salt soak+cell salt), coQ10, probiotics (super helpful), zinc, and vitamin D. Interestingly I get some sort of stomach/liver pains if I take NAC on a daily basis, though I do get a positive result if I take it occasionally for extra stress such as a cold or a race. I would love to see your take on oxaloacetate - which has has removed so many negative symptoms for me would be hard to list them all here!

Inka or Siim, have you looked at vascular dilatation/inflammation during migraine episodes? Somehow I remember migraine as being associated with vascular problems and the vessels being enlarged during some processes (possibly secondary reaction to histamine or serotonin signaling or the other way around) which then possibly affect the nearby neurons by pressure or by leakage or something else. So, stabilizing the vessels or balancing the histamine/serotonin bursts could be what is behind vessel dilatations. COuld be something third. Anyway the vessels are implicated. If histamine is implicated, then it could also be considered as kind of allergic or immune reaction. All our systems, immune, neuro, gut flora, what not, are connected anyway, though.
@iaminkaland
@iaminkaland 2 месяца назад
Yes, you're absolutely right. Brain inflammation and blood pressure in the brain are related to migraines. When the trigeminal nerve is triggered, it affects blood flow to the brain. Usually, in migraines, bursts of vasoconstriction-vasodilation cause pressure to the pain-sensitive neurons, which then causes the "pulsing pressure" in the head. Glutamatergic signaling is also increased, further increasing the pain. Histamine can elevate inflammatory molecules and increase this excitotoxicity where the "brain gets inflamed." Another curiosity is the exercise-induced headache which is affecting 40 % of mgiraine population. IF you exercise too heavy it creates excessive inflammation and blood pressure changes which trigger migraine. Many don't know this. All these processes are interconnected, and that's why it's so hard to treat. Neurologists and the medical community have no cure for it yet. I've noticed managing inflammation is the BEST strategy for keeping this condition in remission; incl. diet, reducing histamine, getting rid of mold, etc Thanks for your comment and for bringing this up. Important point.

Excellent video you guys! I'm curious, why NAC is used in GlyNac and not regular Cysteine? I've heard Cysteine is "unstable" but nothing specific or data based and I would think using it instead of NAC would circumvent the Methionine transition process, thus reducing the production of Homocysteine. What do you guys think?

Yes, I understand that, but my question was why NAC with Glycine instead of plain L-Cysteine with Glycine. When the acetyl group in NAC is separated via Methionine to then become L-Cysteine, Homocysteine is produced, which from my understandingis not ideal. My thinking is to just use L-Cysteine instead of NAC, unless there is some drawback to doing so that I'm not aware of. I am also planning on mixing my own GlyNac, WAY cheaper that way!
@iaminkaland
@iaminkaland 2 месяца назад
Great Q. So I think it's bc cysteine can form disulfide bonds with other cysteine molecules, leading to the production of cystine, which is less bioavailable. N-acetylcysteine is a more stable compound bc the acetyl group attached to cysteine prevents oxidation, allowing NAC to maintain its structure until it is metabolized in the body. NAC provides cysteine directly without significantly impacting the methionine cycle.

A lot of headaches start in the neck. Look into fascia release. You really have to press into the tense areas and work across the areas to get the fascia to smooth back out. Imagine plastic wrap that gets wrinkled up. Pain holds in there. Smooth it out and the pain often goes away.

NAC has antimicrobial properties and disrupts biofilms and hinders biofilm formation which your microbiome relies on. This may be beneficial during a kill phase if you are trying to clear a pathogen infection but your essential microbes also use biofilms for protection. So you are likely to alter microbiome status which science does not fully understand yet.

Do you take glycine with the nac?
@JacquesTreehorn
@JacquesTreehorn 2 месяца назад
I am using it in combination with glycine and the glycine I get with collagen and gelatin. It is actually a lot of pills at 220 lbs taking 1g per kg. I have noticed the ability to remember list of numbers improving. I take a lot of supplements. It is honestly hard to attribute it just to GlyNAC. I have noticed the smell of my urine is quite strong, like I ate asparagus. I am near certain that is the NAC. I am taking 7000mg in the morning and 3000mg at night. 220 lbs = 100kg, so 10g of NAC a day. I take the larger amount in the morning with collagen, gelatin, Metamucil smoothie that binds it in my system for sustained release.

Nanotech and spike proteins are just a few of these new aspects. glynac helps with the nanotech. What have I noticed? Much less strained liver. detox symptoms for the first 2-3 months getting used to high dosage. strong immune system. increased energy. Less sensitivity to EMF or more resilience to EMF. You don't need NAC at your age. NAC is used to get cysteine, an amino acid that starts failing to be synthesized after 45, and it is needed to form glutathione, this was studied by Nestle Heatlh. Glutathione is the most potent antioxidant yes, but if you get a good diet and are young you don't need it, may I ask if Inka has enough protein in her diet? The dosage is on the Nestle study but it is not given by grams but by mols, I did calculation for grams and it is 7grams glycine and 9grams of NAC for a 70kg person.
